If it is expired you can't extend it.

    Hello community,
    today I found out there are some scatches in the back my aluminum MacBook Pro. There is one fairly deep scratch. This has probably happened in my backpack since I use it for school.
    My question is: is this something Apple Care will help me fix? If not, how much will it cost to get a completely new back.

  • APPLE CARE AGREEMENT NIGHTMARE

    I'm not sure if this is the right section but I saw no better place to list it.  When the iphone 4 released I purchased 5 for my family.  I had 5 new apple care agreements purchased separately.   I registered the agreements to the phones and they showed up online when I logged into support online.  After about a month one of the phones was acting up.  I went to the apple store and they swapped it out.  All was well. 
    I looked at my agreements about a month later when I purchased another apple piece of hardware and realized one of the phones was missing.  I called apple and they told me after quite some time of research the agreement was not moved to my new phone and it was somehow assigned to someone in a different country (don't recall where).  They assured me the problem would be resolved and all the data was in the system. I hung up and waited.
    A month went by so I called again.  Same scenario as last call with the same results.  I have now called no less than 12 times.  I have been assigned different case #s periodically.  Now one of my other phones no longer shows on my account.  Apple support tells me they show the 2nd phone listed on their side and no idea why I am unable to see it listed on my account. 
    I last spoke with apple on 6/28/11 and the rep assured me he would escalate the case and call me back.  No return call so today I logged in and checked the case online.  To my dismay the case says it was closed on Feb 9th.  How can that be???  I spoke with the rep on 6/28/11.
    The phone is now out of warranty and the apple care agreement should kick in.  The phone has been having some issues today and I started thinking I am about to get screwed by apple since they won't fix my apple care agreement.
    Can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this?  When I call support they tell me there is no way to contact the department that resolves these matters and they can't even call that department.  All they can do is escalate cases.  I can't believe a company like apple would put a loyal customer through this much grief!  Can anyone out there offer any help???

    Call the Apple tech support number and ask to speak with someone in Customer Relations. When you get a CR representative on the line, explain the situation to them including the names of the people you spoke to and when they promised a callback, provide all the case numbers you've been given, and ask for assistance in obtaining a resolution to this problem.
    That's all anyone here can suggest, I'm afraid.

    FYI to everyone who read my previous questions.

    No offense to the nice guy at Apple who helped me, but, DUH.
    Apple is sending me Snow Leopard discs free of charge since my less than one year old iMac somehow didn't come with any.
    With any luck, by weeks' end, I will have a working computer with a brain.
    So, IF you are continuing to have Lion problems I strongly encourage you to contact Apple Care and check it out.
    I think there is a massive problem with every version of Lion and Apple needs to know so it can be fixed.
    Everything new has bugs. I just have higher expectations from Apple since, obviously, it works better than any PC.
    I don't think Lion should have gotten out of the cage before some more trouble shooting and trials.
    So, I will happily go back to Snow Leopard when my discs arrive and my computing life will return to happy.
    Lesson learned, not everything shiny and new is needed or better.

    How do I get buy the tools I need to take the on line course for apple care tecnician training? When I click on the like for more info uner what you need a form comes up with name and job. It tells me it is invailid. I am trying to get certificed and purchased the technician training course. I would appreciate any one's help on this.

  • A cd is blocked in my 3 month old Mac, still under Apple care. Apple said that to mend the Mac they need at least 3 to 10 days. I work for a media company and i ALWAYS use it. IS APPLE MENT TO GIVE ME A MAC while mine is mending? Thanks for your help.

    Please be advised that we are individual users just like you.  I understand and appreciate that you use your MBP in a vocational environment and evidently it is critical for you to have a functioning MBP at all times.  Unlike some car dealers, Apple does not have a 'loaner' program.
    You may be able to talk the local Apple store to lend you one, but they are under no obligation to do so.  As BobTHeFisherman suggests, the only reasonable solution for the current situation and possible future ones, is to have a backup MBP, ready to be used if the primary one fails. 
    Even if you got a 'loaner', I question the practicality of setting it up and transferring data in a timely manner that would enable it to be used for your job.  The quick and temporary solution to you situation is to purchase an external DVD drive that can substitute for the internal one with the entrenched CD.  This should permit you to continue your work uninterrupted with all functions of your MBP still at your disposal.

    i recently bought an iphone 4s from the US. whilw i was buying, the sales guy at apple store told that apple care+ for iphone has an international warranty that includes india. But when i reached back home (india) and called an AASP(apple authorized service provider) regarding the validity of the warranty in india, he replied back that it is not acceptable in india and that it is internationally acceptable in countries other than india
    But the apple care + features say it has international warranty and the legals asks us to contact an AASP if not an iphone owned store. I dont get it..can anybody help me. i need it soon so that if it is worthless, i have to cancel it.

    True..apple does not confer international warranty in its website. But the guy at memorial city houston TX did mention about worldwide support. which i had confirmed more than twice before buying. The sales associate id is 14******61.
    i want some answer for the wrong information provided. Please help. The serial no is DN*******TD6 of the apple careplus.

  • Is the power adapter covered under Apple Care?

    I wrap the cord on my power adapter about twice per day going between home, school, and work. Consequently, the power cord has begun to fray where it comes out of the white power supply. Is a replacement power supply covered under Apple Care?

    I would be interested to hear what Apple says regarding warranty coverage for your power supply. I had a slight, but annoying, problem with my Powerbook G4 adapter where the two-pronged wall adapter would not stay rigidly straight in the wall socket. Result was that it would slide out of the wall socket and lose its connection. I called Apple under my extended Applecare warrantly and they said that a replacement (only $10 anyway, but still...) was not covered as the problem was related to my use and handling. The tech on the phone conceded that if I had said that the adapter wasn't working it could have been replaced under the warranty. Of course he said he couldn't change the information on my "case" once that was entered.

    i just can't find the Web Registration Instructions card or booklet in the apple care box. so how can i get the AppleCare registration number???

    I would suggest that you contact the place that sold you AppleCare and tell them that you have an incomplete box. If the box was not shrink-wrapped in plastic when it arrived, it was probably opened by someone else and the card with the plan registration code removed.
    If you purchased AppleCare directly from the Apple Store, call the Apple Store and explain the situation to them. If you purchased AppleCare at the same time that you purchased a new Mac, your AppleCare plan may have been enrolled automatically so a code would not be necessary. The Apple Store should be able to tell you, and if you should have received a card with a registration code, they should be able to help resolve the situation.

    Yes, you can; you can always take a Mac to any Apple Store for service. I'm not sure what the "custom agreement" might be; perhaps a service extension of some sort. If that is the case, then whether or not Apple will repair your system for free will depend on what that extension covers, but the Apple Store will provide a diagnosis and an estimate of the charges if the problem is not covered under warranty.

    You should be able to present the documentation at the Genius bar and have them enter the information. Or call the AppleCare number and present your case.

    If by "tools" you are referring to physical tools, you can buy tools through any standard tool seller or electronics parts supplier. I'm not aware that Apple sells tools, though I may well be wrong. I've never been a member of the certification program so I don't know all the features of the program.
    Apple will not sell you discontinued computers. If you need a computer they no longer sell in the Apple Store as new or in the refurbished section, you'll need to look to independent dealers or private sellers.
