Enter your sustem lock pin code to unlock this Mac

Hello need help. blocked by a mac mini and I can not icloud is now unlocked. entered the password 5 characters and it asks 6. tell me what to do?
Enter the correct password is sure.

You're still not telling clearly if it's iCloud you can't log into or your Mac Mini.
You're profile shows you're using Lion.
If so, restart the computer. When you hear the chime, hold down the Command-r keys until the startup screen appears.
Or, Hold “Option” at boot and select the “Recovery” disk at the boot menu.

  • Enter your system lock pin code to unlock this mac

I just traded my Macbook Pro for a 27" Core i5 iMac. I wiped the iMac when I traded and I brought it home to do a full reinstall. I booted holding the Option key down and noticed this iMac had a recovery partition I opted to use the recovery partition to reinstall. To my surprise it was Lion. And the cd was snow leapord.  I was cool with that and signed in and used the computer all day. Then sometime while I was sleeping a obnixious alarm went off on the iMac and there was a box to enter your system lock pin code to unlock this mac.
Priding myself on doing all repairs on my own since my primary job is reinstalled and virus removal. Long story short I could not access anything no matter what I tried. I ended up calling apple care and asking what needed to be done they explained I needed to bring it to a apple authorized store and they would have to unlock the firmware.
Do you guys know what they are talking about or is there anything I can do before driving 100 miles to my nearest apple store. I find this rediculous.

I did indeed did wipe the system clean at the owners house, I went home with what I thought was totally clean hard drive, there was a recovery partition I did not see until I got home. This recovery partition was indeed tied to the original owner which I did not know at the time. I assumed it was like any old windows recovery and it was clean and made reinstalls a dream. Well long story short I had the snow leapord cd in the drive and ready to go until I seen this recovery partition and I opted to use  the **** recovery and I reinstalled registered and signed into everything and used the computer all day 12 hours probably. By the way the recovery partition that was tied to this guy was lion.
So then I left the computer on and went to sleep. Late last night an alarm went off and that is when I saw the enter the pin to unlock this mac. I have tried holding the C when I boot up, I have tried holding the Option key when booting up. I have tried resetting the pram. Nothing can be done. I can get to another lock screen by phsically unplugging the power cord then booting up holding the option key. That will bring me to a screen with nothing but a lock and a line that I can type some kind of admin password. Nothing I have with work. I tried, root, admin, administrator, my password I used when I set lion up. Nothing!!!!!.
At this point this machine is more or less 100% useless, the only option I can see is to bring it to a authorized apple retailer and have them fix it. I did bring it to a local apple store. And they said they could probably fix it, but I would have to pay them between 50-100 dollars. The repair guy said something about getting the info from the ram. I just laughed and left.
Anyway this is like a BIOS lock, you cannot get to terminal, cd, to any boot options, you cannot reset anything at all. It's a full lock.

Question is did you lock your Mac from Find my iPhone using iCloud or is the Macbook really yours?
If you have in fact locked your Mac using Find my iPhone on iCloud then you will need to enter the PIN you have set when you locked the Mac.
*If you have not iniate the remote Lock then someone else has used your Apple ID and Password to lock your mac.

  • HELP "Enter your System lock PIN code to unlock this Mac"

i signed in on my icloud and now this comes up, i dont know the pin or even remember puttin gon one....can someone please help?? all my work in on this.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That appears when your Mac is locked using “Find my Mac” (did you remember if you locked your Mac?). First of all, if you didn't lock your Mac, change the Apple ID password, because it would be hacked > http://iforgot.apple.com
Then, you should know that it's not possible to start the computer without inserting the PIN, so the only thing you can do is to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get the MacBook Pro unlocked

    How to unlock

    Ivan,
First off, did you happen to just upgrade to the newest OS X version, Mavericks? If you did, then this may unfortunately be the result of a minor issue that occurs in a very small percentage of Macs after upgrading to Mavericks.
If you did not just upgrade, then it is highly likely that either yourself, or a family member or friend with access to you Macbook, set up a boot security code as an extra precaution against unauthorized access. Unfortunately, there is no other method than to attempt to boot your Mac back to a previous version using Time Capsule, or to perform a full restore.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the Pin Code for unlock for Macbook Air System Lock ?

What is the Pin Code for unlock for Macbook Air System Lock ?

It usually means that the  owner of the device sent a directive through icloud(find my mac), to lock the device because it has been stolen.
The only means to unlock the device is to have Apple (Apple Store) unlock it for the owner. If you are the owner, be prepared to show proof of legitimate ownership. It is likely that Apple will want to contact the registered owner to make sure that the device has been legitmately transferred.
I'm really thinking you may have bought stolen property. Ask the seller why it is locked, and if the device is registered to him/her, to release the registration on Apple's website. Only then, will you be able to re-register the device in YOUR name.

I have switched on my MAC after 2 months of no use and I am getting the grey screen asking for a system lock pin code, I dont know what it is, how can I get into my MAC?
    Many thanks

That sounds like it's requestion the Find My Mac passcode.  If you don't know it, you'll have to take it to a nearby Apple store with proof of purchase/ownership as only they can unlock it for you.

  • System Lock pin code

    Hi,
My mac is asking me for a 6 digits System Lock pin code to peform a clean install (booting from a USB drive) .   My security pin code has 4 digits, not 6 but it seems that the screen doesn't allow me to type in only 4.
Had you seen this before?  any workaround or fixes ?
    Thanks in advance

Also,  If I boot up the mac using my Snow Leopard installation disk, it works and by-passes this screen which doesn't look good (safe?) to me as I can by pass the code and peform a Mac OSX clean installation.
By the way, theare are 2 codes involved here ,  the firmware password (any character)  and the system lock pin code (only numeric digits) .
I have no problem with my firmware password as my mac accepts it with no problem.  The problem is that system lock 6 digits pin-code when I chose only a 4 digits one.

  • Please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

    Hi kevinv1987,
It doesn't sound like the PDF was password protected (or Adobe Reader would prompt you for a password). Instead, it sounds like that file may be marked locked by your operating system. Are you on Mac OS or Windows? In either case, here are instructions for removing the lock icon from the file:
Remove the Lock Icon from a Folder in Windows 7 (check Microsoft's website if you have a different version of Windows)
On Mac OS, select the file in the Finder, and choose File > Get Info. Then, just deselect the Lock checkbox.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • System lock pin code problem

So basically i have lost my macbook pro. And then i found it yesterday and arrested the thief who stoke my macbook with using find my iphone app. And right nownim confused how to make the system lock code pin appeared. Because the thief  had done something to my laptop ( so after my mac was taken by the thief. I immediately lock my mac using find my iphone app) and right now i dont know how to enter my pin code system because the system pin code doesnt come up after i turn on my mac. Please help me because all of my datas r there

If the system PIN code doesn't appear, it looks like the Mac wasn't connected to Internet after getting your Mac locked. Simply turn it on, open System Preferences > iCloud, log in with your Apple ID (if it's logged in with another Apple ID, choose "Sign Out") and mark "Find my Mac". Your Mac should be locked automatically, so just type the PIN code and it will be unlocked.
