Enterprise Manager not coming up

We installed the Oracle Application 10.1.3.0.0. for HP-UX PA RISC. and then applied the needed patch to upgrade to 10.1.3.1.0.0. We followed the guidelines for the OAS installation, and the installation seemed to have been successful.
However, we could not get the Enterprise Manager to come up. We were able to get to the home page through the browser. When we clicked on the Enterprise Manager link, we were able to go to the login page. After logging in, we get a page not found screen.
We tried to start up the EM by ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole command but it did not work. We also tried the ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl start iasconsole command, but it also did not work. In both cases, we get an error saying that the emctl does not exist in the bin directory. We verified that the emctl really does not exist in the bin directory.
Are we missing some files, like the emctl? Do we have to make an advanced installation to make the EM show? Do we have to download and install the EM separately? Is there any step that we are missing in the installation? Do we have to install 10.1.2.0 first to get the emctl file?
Any help or enlightenment will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

have you installed your SOA Suite in advanced mode?
Then you have to enable a checkbox with "Configure this as an OC4J administration instance"

I have installed the SOA 11.1.1.2 suite as per the documentation. But when i am starting teh weblogic server,during startup it throws error regarding enterprise manager.

I can see that em is not versioned error. when i am trying to invoke em then it gives Error 404--Not Found
It's really annoying.
I have tried instaling it on Red Hat linux also, same error.
really frustrating. I dont know if i can ignore it or not.
Guys need help from your side.
Admins: please see in this matter.

Select the folder you have installed SOA, right click eidt the folder permssions.
* Add full control to the current user & administrator for this folder & sub-folders.
And retry.
Also make sure that your permssions have been propagated to sub folders as well.

Oracle 11g-R1 Enterprise Manager Not Working

I am unable to access enterprise manager. When I enter https://10.0.2.106:1158/em, it gives me a window with following messages

Listener = UP
Agent Connection to Instance = Down, Status = Failed, Details = ORA-28001: the password has expired (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin)

Your DBSNMP password has changed or the DBSNMP has a (default) profile that forces you to change the password every xx days. I think the last is the case.
You could create a new profile with a password_life_time unlimited for the user DBSNMP or change in the default profile the password_life_time to unlimited (if security rules permit to do so).

10.1 to 10.2 upgrade: enterprise manager not working

Hello,
We recently upgraded from Oracle 10.1 to 10.2: this meant installing 10.2 in a new home directory and upgrading the database instances from 10.1 to 10.2 through the database upgrade assistant. So right now, both 10.1 and 10.2 reside on the server but in seperate folders. Though all the database instances (we have 2-3 databases on same server) have been upgraded to 10.2, I am not sure if it is safe to uninstall 10.1 database server and so I have left it as such.
Initially it did not seem like a problem since enterprise manager opened fine for 10.2 DB instances and I could also connect to the database through my GIS client/program (its spatial data). Now, we are not sure what went wrong today but I am getting this error when i try to open the enterprise manager(web).
Can someone throw some light on what could be happening? There seem to be 2 listener services running in windows services - could this be a problem? (though I have stopped listener of 10.1 and it does not help); also could ports be an issue. The listener in 10.1 says it users 1521 and in 10.2, it says 1522 by default.
Any advice would be helpful.

I would suggest you to do the folowing.
There isn't any harm in uninstalling 10.1, so go for it, stop all services running from this home (10.1). As you have upgraded your all DBs to now 10.2. softare is running your databases.
After un-installation, you will not see your listener as well, now create a new listener from 10.2 which will be running on the default port 1521 and then use sqlplus from client side to check whether listener is running fine or not.
Next step is to re configure your enterprise manager, use following procedure
1. Open a terminal window and execute the following command to stop dbconsole:
emctl stop dbconsole
2. To recreate the Enterprise Manager repository, enter the following command:
emca -repos recreate
Provide parameters for the repository re-creation. Enter at the appropriate prompt:
Database SID: orcl
Listener port number: 1521
Password for SYS user: oracle <the password does not appear >
Password for SYSMAN user: oracle <the password does not appear >
Do you wish to continue? [yes(Y)/no(N)]: y
Then wait. The re-creation of the Enterprise Manager repository may take about 15 minutes depending on your system setup.
3. To deconfigure dbcontrol, enter the following command:
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
Enter the following values when prompted:
Database SID: orcl
Do you wish to continue? [yes(Y)/no(N)]: y
The deconfiguration is generally faster than the repository re-creation. The actual time depends on your system setup.
4. To reconfigure dbcontrol, enter the following command:
emca -config dbcontrol db
Provide parameters for the reconfiguration. Enter the following values when prompted:
Database SID: orcl
Listener port number: 1521
Password for SYS user: oracle <the password does not appear >
Password for DBSNMP user: oracle <the password does not appear >
Password for SYSMAN user: oracle <the password does not appear >
Enter nothing for the next questions (just press the Enter key):
Email address for notifications (optional):
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server for notifications (optional):
Do you wish to continue? [yes(Y)/no(N)]: y
The actual time for the reconfiguration depends on your system setup.

Oracle Enterprise manager not starting

I have installed Oracle Enterprise Manager on my virtual machine running Oracle Linux 5.8. I edited the virtual machine settings to contain 2 CPU cores, 8GB RAM post installation of OEM owing to slow response times from the server. This was done as per the pre-requisite recommendation from Oracle Installation guide. Also, prior to installation of the Oracle DB, I had the user group as dba instead of oinstall. I have now associated the oracle user to the oinstall group instead of dba. Now, I have powered on the virtual machine and started the database and the listener. Now when I try to launch the OMS service, I am not able to get the Management server up and running. The logs show the error on "PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException" and says 'Failed to search audit definition for component JPS. Reason: oracle.secutiry.jps.service.policystore.PolicyStoreContainerNotReadyException. Kindly let me know what should I do to get the OMS up and running.

Oracle 10G installed Enterprise manager not working

I have installed oracle 10g on my laptop having enterprise linux 4(on VM Ware) . All the things are working fine when i use database using sqlplus, but i am not able to start enterprise manager. the first time i started the database i was able to start enterprise manager.
please help.....

Yes when i start dbconsole i get a url i click on that the mozilla opens but ... i get message page cannot be displayed..

Enterprise Manager not working after installed 10.2.0.4 Patch Set 6810189

I installed the 6810189 patch for Windows 32-bit and now I can't bring up Enterprise Manager (I don't have Grid Control, just plain jane EM). Any ideas on why this would be?

Haha, yeah it was running. I did the EMCTL STATUS DBCONSOLE command, and it gave me the web address for EM, so I used that and it is working.
Apparently it uses "https" now and not "http."
Does anyone know, did Oracle change that for 10.2.x? I didn't realize EM used a secure connection...

Enterprise manager not working properly.

I am using Oracle 10g R2 on fedora machine my first database name is orcl then i created second database by dbca by the name orcl2 after that my Enterprise manager is not working properly that is i am not able to login to my database through EM.
Then i deleted my listener LISTENER and created two new listeners by name LISTENER and LISTENER on port no 1521,1522 respectively .
when i issue command lsnrctl start listener
and
lsnrctl start listener1
both of my listeners gets started sucessfully.
but when i start EM i get the same problem.

Oms is not being used.Does recreating Em repository will help??? Any suggestion???

Looks loke your dbcontrol is messed up. Pl re-create it as per the steps in this MOS Doc

Enterprise Manager not able to connect to the Database Instance

After logging into the OEM as a SYS user , I was able to mount the database . The Database status shown to me as below,
Listener - up
Agent Connection to the Instance - unavailable
Database instance- down - message - Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance.
After that I tried to connect to the database through sql developer , I was able to connect using connection for the SYS user and able to run the queries .d
So How can I be able to connect to the Database Instance using OEM ?
Please suggest me what to do or what to check ...
Your help will be appreciated...

One cause of this problem is when the Oracle database is down & needs to be started.
A remote client send a request to the Listener asking to be connected to a specific service.
If/when the listener does not know anything about that service, the listener responds with ORA-12514
post results from the following two OS commands:
lsnrctl status
lsnrctl service
Since every connection request to the listener gets logged, listener.log file will contain a line with 12514 as status code.
This line contains valuable debugging details. So post this line & surrounding lines.

After ORA-07445, a part of Oracle Enterprise Manager not working?

Hi! Everyone!
My database was have error message ORA-07445.
I found document in MetaLink, and try to modified it.

1. SQL> alter system set event='10422 trace name context forever, level 1' scope=spfile;
2. shutdown DB & startup DB
After that, Oracle Enterprise Manager "Space Summary -> Problem Tablespaces " from 5 become 0.
And since these days, it did not change.
This is on solaris 10 oracle 10.2.0.4
How can I make it normal?

Enterprise Manager Not starting in Oracle10g

Hi,
I have Oracle10gR2 database in Windows Server 2003.
After installing the database,Enterprise manager was working fine.
Then i installed the patch set 10.2.4.0 for the database.
The patch set was installed properly and the database started.
But when i tried to open the Enterprise Manager,it will get open.
After 5 mins, again if i try to open Enterprise manager,it says page cannot be displayed.
I checked the service of Enterprise Manager.It is in started status.And i tried restarting the ORACLE DB CONSLE Service.
After the service restart,I tried to open Enterprise Manager.It got opened and after if i try again in 5 mins, i m getting the same problem.
If i check the service,it is in the status of started..Again if i restart, Enterprise manager is working for 5 mins.
SO can anyone tell whats wrong in this? Before installing the patch,Enterprise manager was working fine.
Please help to solve this.Thanks in Advance.
