Entourage X for Mac

I have a quick question that I just can't pinpoint the answer. I'm hope someone will help with my frustration, When I'm typing on Entourage things go fine until I try to type a capital D. Nothing comes up and I get a message indicating that "this contains scripts to extend the functionality of Microsoft Entourage. Save compiled scripts in the Entourage Script Menu Items folder inside your Documents folder for them to appear in this menu." I haven't found this folder in Documents although I'm not sure this is the problem as all the other letters come up fine, including a small d. I've even replaced the Entourage Program which didn't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

You must have accidentally assigned the capital D keystroke to a function. Those are saved in your email account data, so reinstalling the program doesn't help. Try this.
1) With Entourage running, click on the Script menu at the top of the screen. It's the one next to Help that looks like a scroll of paper. One of the scripts listed is trying to run when you press Shift+d. It may or may not show the keystroke next to the name of the script.
2) In your user account, look in the ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/ folder. That's where Entourage keeps its script files. I'm not sure about Office X anymore, but these are the ones that are installed by default in Office 2004:
About This Menu...
Create Event from Message\cE
Create Note from Message\cN
Create Task from Message\cT
Insert Text File...
Open e-mail folder
Save Selection...
Essentially, you want to quit Entourage and remove the one that Shift+d is calling as a script command. So it should be the one not listed here.

  • Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion

Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion?
I am just about to install Lion just need to check to see if if my work e-mail will work

    Sarah,
    Check this link:
    http://roaringapps.com/app:2533
It contains some issues that people have encountered with Lion and Office 2008. It appears it can work, but you may have to go through some of the steps a few of the posters there have listed.
That website also contains a pretty large list of applications and if they will work with Lion.
Hope this helps! (I am not affiliated in any way with the site linked).

  • Problem with Entourage 2008 for Mac

I don't know if this is the right forum, if not please direct me to where I should go. I have Entourage 2008 for Mac. I continue to have a problem with the font reverting back to Calibri when I am composing an email. I've set up in Preferences the font I want, but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any suggestions? Other than give up entirely on Apple and go back to a PC????? The whole Office 2008 program is horrible and whoever designed it at Apple should be fired.

I don't know if this is the right forum, if not please direct me to where I should go.
Microsoft's own forums for their Mac software:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac
whoever designed it at Apple should be fired.
Ummm...nobody at Apple designed it.  It's a Microsoft product.

  • Problem sending emails from Entourage 04 for Mac

Hello, hope this is the right forum, does anyone use Microsoft's Office/Entourage 04 for Macintosh for email? Perhaps you can help:
Suddenly I can't SEND emails from six "sub" accounts I have, and get the error message "From: address not verified". These are all normally sent via a single primary (BTInternet.com) address which is entered in the "Sending Mail" account section and has been been set up like this for a year on my iMac.
A seventh sub-account used by my partner on a different computer (PC using Outlook) also sends emails via the same primary address - and works fine..
Obviously there is a problem logging to this primary address specifically in my Entourage.
There is nothing wrong with the primary's own set-up because I can send messages from that (and the "sending" info is identical).
(Also note: I can RECEIVE emails to all the accounts, no problem).
    Unless I've inadvertently clicked something I shouldn't, I'm mystified.
I'm stuck as I use use one of the "subs" all the time. Help!

After much research and help (on another site forum!) it turns out this is a BTYahoo! mail fault affecting many BT accounts (in the UK at least). Why they are messing accounts around I don't know.
If anyone finds they can't send via a BT account just find another server and enter their details and all will work again - as I've discovered after a day trawling the ether!

  • My Entourage (Office for Mac 2008 version) has suddenly quit opening

It opened this a.m. earlier, but now it sits there.  The headline comes up, and i can "Quit", but it refuses
    to open.
Is there a quick fix to this?

It sounds like your Keyboard might be damaged. I wouldn't do anything without first getting a USB Keyboard and see if that lets your Applications run like they are suppose to.

  • Converting from Entourage to Mail for Mac on OS 10.5.6

Can anyone give me tips on how to convert from Entourage 2008 for Mac to Mail for Mac. I am on version 10.5.6 OS. Also, I have some files on Outlook (windows PC) that I want to move over to the mail including old emails, addresses, etc.
Any tips with specific instructions and other hints as to what to consider that won't transfer would be appreciated

    OK
    Scenario 1
    (assumes Mobile Me membership)
Set up Apple Mail in your Mac Pro, iMac, ... and set preferences in Mobile Me to include email stuff
Login to MacBook Pro, Air, ... other iMac, other Mac Pro > enter mobile me stuff there and Bongo! Apple Mail on the second machine synchronizes with stuff set in Apple Mail on first machine.
Turn on the iPhone > Bongo! iPhone Mail will show the same email accounts as on the other two machines described above.
One does not need to re-enter stuff for the sake of it. Mobile Me makes it easy.
On the second machine create a new email account or add an existing one to Apple Mail > Bongo! Details updated on the first machine and also on iPhone.
    Scenario 2
(assumes preferences set in Mobile Me for calendars and contacts)
Create new contacts in each of the three machines (that is the first machine, the second machine and the iPhone) > Bongo! Details will be synched across all three machines (okay, iPhone calls them contacts and the other machines call it Address Book but ... )
Create appointments in Calendar or iCal in ... well, they are synched as well.
    Scenario 3
On a PC, away from each of the three machines detailed above. Need contacts and calendars (yes, iCal and iPhone calendar support multiple calendars with an overview summary of all, yep, ALL calendars.
Fire up Safari on the PC (Safari 4 seems sweet) > go to www.me.com > enter username and password of Mobile Me account > Bongo!
I suppose it may also be a time thing in sense that many people, self included, might recall a time when every calendar needed every detail keying in (other computer operating systems running different applications). Sure there were import/export utilities or thunks bet these tended to be at variance with each other regarding ordering of data fields, field parameters and in my own experience a bad import though swift was less reliable than re-keying in the details.

  • Keeping getting error message on outlook for mac

since changing my account today from me.com to icloud i keep getting an error message on my imac and mb-pro
does anyone know what settings need to changed on outlook to be able to send and receive my me.com email?
Worked perfectly since changing over earlier today.
    The message is
    https://www.icloud.com/#mail
Mail could not be received at this time.
    Account name: "Me"
    any ideas???

you can't use icloud and outlook 2011 / Entourage 2008 for Mac. The app is not supported.  Maximum is Mail via IMAP, but no contacts, tasks, reminders will work.
icloud works only fully with Apple Mac Lion built-in apps : ical, Mail, adress book.
On a Windows-PC, Outlook is a complete different story and there it works with icloud.

  • Import entourage database into Outlook 2011 for mac

I set up a new macbook from a time machine backup. The main identity for entourage was from the original date of install. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that when I did my initial import so it brought in about two e-mails from 2 years ago but not the entire database. I did a new TM backup of the entire database and chose import in Outlook and it appeared to be going but when it indicated it was finished-- nothing new showed up. What did I do wrong?

    Hi,
We can import .iaf files in Outlook 2010 using the following method:
    Start Outlook 2010.
On the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Export.
Click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click
    Next.
Follow the Internet Connection Wizard to complete the import process.
But, I don't know if we can do this in Outlook for Mac 2011. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Outlook for Windows, it's better to post Mac related issue to the forum for Mac:

  • I can't import Microsoft Ofice X Entourage into Outlook 2011 for Mac

I'm trying to import tasks from Microsoft Office X for Mac Entourage into Microsoft Office fo Mac 2011 Outlook and I'm failing miserably. It seems like Outlook only wants to import from Entourage 2004, Entourage 2008, or an Entourage archive. Entourage X doesn't seem to be able to archive?

You may have to do it the hard way. Launch Entourage X (which of course requires booting into something other than Lion). For each folder you've created for your Inbox, create a folder on the desktop by the same name.
Click on the folders one at a time in Entourage. Highlight any email and then press Command+A to select all of them. Drag the emails out of Entourage to the folder by the same name on the desktop. Repeat for each email folder you have. Next, export your contacts and save that to the desktop.
Move or copy all of the data from the desktop to someplace you can get at it from Lion
Restart in Lion and launch Outlook. Create Inbox folders that match the names of the folders you created on your desktop. Drag the contents of each folder into the appropriate email folder in Outlook. Import your contacts.

  • Duplications when syncing Entourage (Office 2011 for Mac) with my iPhone 3GS

I have a MacBook, and I'm using Snow Leopard.  I have MS Office for Mac 2011.  In syncing Entourage with my iPhone, I get many duplications on the Entourage calendar.  When I was looking at the sync page in iTunes, under "sync iCal calendars," and then "selected calendars," Entourage is listed twice.  I've tried just checking one of the Entourage entries, and they both become checked again.
    My question is twofold:
           a) Is the double listing and checking of Entourage part of the problem?
           b) How can I edit the list of calendars?
    Thanks.
    ms

The comment from Apple support was partially true.  If you search the web you will find that Office 2011 (latest Mac version of Office) has never been able to sync with an iPhone.  Older versions (maybe), and Windows versions possibly, but not the latest Mac version.  MS changed the format of just about everything in Outlook 2011.  It was MS that broke the iTunes ability to sync, not Apple.
So, even though Office 2011 works just fine on a Mac, you loose the ability to sync with your iPhone.  Thank the folks in Redmond for this.

  • Getting M$ Outlook 2002 into M$ Office for Mac 2008 Entourage

Need to move all email, contacts, and calendar from M$ Windows platform from M$ Outlook to Mac Snow Leopard platform under M$ Office for Mac 2008 Entourage.
    BACKGROUND
OK, I've made this far. I bought my first MacPro in Aug 2008 and my MacBook Pro in Oct 2008 running both on Windows XP Pro under "BootCamp" and slowly playing on the other side with OSX Leopard. In Jun 2009 I bought a new MacBook Pro and running a subordinate Windows XP Pro under Parallels .. BUT .. for the most part have been doing more and more with Snow Leopard and FCP but have yet to move my mail, contacts, and calendar to the new machine while still running Outlook Express for email and Outlook for contacts and calendar respectively. Now it's time to make the final move to Mac but for now I shall go with....
    PLAN & CURRENT STATUS
M$ Office for Mac 2008 and want to run under Mac Snow Leopard. I've installed the software but need to get my material converted over to the new machine. BTW, I would love to try Mail and iCal but this is my move for now and at least it's a Mac app with some of my M$ Windows familiarity to it as Mac up scales iCal or it's replacement and then I'll go there when the time comes but for now this is a major move for me and I'm proud of myself for getting this far so quickly.
Step 1. I have imported all contacts, emails, and calendar from Outlook Express into M$ Outlook 2002 on the old MacBook Pro in Windows and am ready to move everything to the other MacBook Pro (new unibody one Jun 2009) and need the next step(s) from anyone who can help.
    Step 2. ???
Thanks in advance for any who can help in this matter. I want to make the transition quickly so I can sell off last years model MacBook Pro 2.5GHz Core 2 Due 250 with 4Gb RAM.

    Try O2M from littlemachines.com

  • Convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into MS Outlook 365 for Mac

How can I convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into Microsoft Outlook 365 for Mac? I have an exported Entourage .rge file and can no longer access the program (on an old computer where the hard drive crashed), so I can't export as MBOX or anything like that. The only options for importing to Mac Outlook 365 are .pst, .olm or Outlook 2011. I've found a lot of places that have rge to pst converters, but they are all under the assumption that it's for going from Mac to Windows, so all the converters I've found are for Windows (download as .exe files). I'm on a new MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.

    Yes and no.
Outlook for Windows (or Mac) can save individual emails as .msg format, Apple Mail cannot import these but there is a utility that can convert them to the .eml format supported by Apple Mail.
    See http://45rpmsoftware.com/mailraider.php
Outlook for Windows can also export entire folders of emails as PST files, again Apple Mail cannot import these but there are utilities which can convert PST files to the mbox format supported by Apple Mail.

  • Icloud on entourage for Mac

I can no longer open Icloud, @mac.com or @me.com on Entourage. Has anybody had the same problem?

i think the incompatibility issues are on a few levels.
icloud did not attempt to be compatible with entourage.  when apple pulled the plug on mobile.me--which was compatible with entouage---it killed any residual compatibility ...even if you migrated from mobile.me to icloud.   and apple did all that without ever warning mobile.me to icloud migrants.
pop servers--which is what i have with time warner cable-- are not compatible with icloud because they are pop and not imap (that's what Google and apple use.and most large companies that manage email.  the cloud works only with imap servers.
when did apple become microsoft? i'm pretty frustrated and mad at apple for the louse jobit did in rolling out icloud like it was a cialis commercial without giving customers a real heads up on what hurdles may be involved in the upgrade (aside from two OS upgrades.  Still, the $60 i spent on the OS upgrades was worth it because i can synch calendar and contacts with icloud.  But apple needs to do a better job explaining the hurdles because it is wasting a lot of customer time and breeding a lot of ill will.  even apple's help desk does not seem to understand that there are pop and imap servers, or that mobile.me migration has problems.  apple's help desk just sends people to microsoft help desks for entourage for mac support.  at least microsoft is pretty simple and unified in its response....we do not support the cloud--period.

why would you say things like that here? if you are a windows one then stay there. but you are not polite or helpful and if can't use Apple i wonder why you would come here to tell all about your sad story. I don't understand that it has nothing to do with question asked.
I own, or should I say have owned, several Apple products. Including a new MBP.
    I also use Windows.
I will say anything I like in an effort to help people overcome problems they are having with Mac's and computers in general.
Being a Apple Fanboy is not required for membership on this forum or trying to help other Mac users.
And just how is suggesting to remove Lion and to go back to Snow Leopard not helping the OP in his quest to make his already owned and paid for MS Office software work? If it is isn't broken stop trying to fix it. Snow Leopard is a fine OS. Lion is still in Beta, only Apple hasn't told anyone. And yes I run Lion on my new MBP but I also have a partition with Snow Leopard on it.
Thank you and have a great day.
