Entry & Approval - error creating second metric set

Hi,
I'm using Entry & Approval and when I create one Metric Set, I have no problem. But when I try to create a second one, it appear the following error popup:

Dear Luis,
A small clarification required. When you were creating the first metric set for that same dimensional model , did you select all the variables ? In the Entry and Approval defaults, did you select the required variables for which data should be loaded via E&A ?

Using Entry&Approval with MAXDB database

I'm trying to use the Entry&Approval module of SSM, but I'm getting into some problems that maybe someone can help me. I'm using SSM7.5 SP6 with MAXDB as my system database.
I already create my PAS database, I create the metric sets, I put some data there, but when I try to load the data into PAS database I get this error in the trace file:

And when I said changing between DB's I was meaning the two MAXDB databases that exist on my system. I assume that the E&A stuff is stored in the DB3 (in my case) MAXDB database, no? I just test against the MAXDB1 database to be sure that I was not pointing to the wrong database. And because both are MAXDB databases, the proc's are the same.

Entry&Approval - Data entry into Output level Dimension

Hi Guys,
There is a project situation, the Client needs to insert data into a metric in both input level and output level of dimension, but when we created the metric set, the tool only provides the dimension Input level.
Is there any way to display also the Dimension Output level? (This variable will not be consolidated).
If not, would you know a workaround?

Hi Praveen,
You are right. As long as that information appears in the CONSOLINFO you are able to enter data with E&A at all levels of the dimension for that particular measure.
You can change this directly in this document, it should be no problem. Nevertheless, when using Cubebuilder or the BICA, you have the option while creating a metric to define the dimension consolidation. By default it is SUM, but you can change it to ENTER, and that should create the entries in CONSOLINFO like what you describe above. This means that selecting this option for the dimension consolidation will enable all levels to be selected and planned using E&A.

HFM EPMA application deployment aborted with error Object reference not set

HFM EPMA application deployment aborted with error Object reference not set to an instance of an object when trying to validate/deploy any HFM application in EPMA. This has started happending after we have deleted a Dimension in one of HFM applications. The deleted dimension is a shared dimension.
We are facing this issue in a distributed environment with version 11.1.2.1. This applications are built here newly.

There was a bug in earlier releases for deleting dimensions with children, making the children orphans.
Heard from release notes that it has been fixed, but we are seeing this issue in 11.1.2.1 again.

ORA-27504: IPC error creating OSD context : Unable to start second node

I have set the DB parameter CLUSTER_INTERCONNECT to point to the Inet addr.

When I try to restart the DB services, it is throwing below error while starting the second node.

Need to create second set of recovery media

First set of recovery media corrupts restore and unable to create second set which is needed. System stats below:
Product name: HP 15 Notebook PC
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Recovery Software:

"This system is created from Recovery Media. You are only allowed to create one set of recovery media."
Is there anything I can do to get a second set cteate short of purchasing from HP? Al other options in the forums have either failed or doesnt apply.

Sorry, but the only way to get a second copy of the HP Recovery Media is to purchase it from HP or possibly a third party vendor.

I installed Oracle 8.05 on Linux successfully: was able to login
whith SQLPlus, start and stop the db whith svrmgrl etc.
During this install I chose WE8ISO8859P9 as the database
characterset when prompted.
After that I installed Oracle Application Server 3.02, and now
I'm getting the
ORA-12709: error while loading create database character set
message when I try to start up the database, and the database
won't mount.
Platform is RedHat Linux 5.2.
NLS_LANG set to different settings,
e.g. AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P9
but without success.
Anyone any clue?

You can create the database with WE8DEC character set
and to use the WE8ISO8859P9 on the client or even on Linux.
The NLS_LANG setting doesn't effect the database, but the
interface with the database. The same setting can be used in de
windows 95/98/NT registry.

I have completed instalation Oracle 9iV2 on Redhat 7.3 without any problems.
After I reboot the system, and try to start database, I have got error mesage:

Trying to create a selection set for "Discrete Mfg. and Distribution Setups" using a filter on Inventory org and I get this error

If I do not select a filter, the selection set gets created successfully. Seems to me that the issue is related to data. Is there a limitation on the length of a certian field in the selection set ?
Any help is appreciated - we are also creating an SR

Thanks for your support. Understood your point - I logged into the target instance and then tried to create a selection set using the Source instance and got the same error (and it can be reproduced at will on both source and target instances). The set will save successfully if I do not enter any criteria.

GRC CUP Error creating request. Approver not found

It looked like some old request stuck in DB.But, not sure about it.I tried by changing the number ranges in configuration by giving the current request number in "from number",but it didn't work.
This is strange some time it gives "error creating request: path not found." and once this error gone then "error creating request : approver not found".
To avoid this i created one more stage by custom approver determinator with application attribute and approver assiged.This stage, i assigned before role approver stage then it worked,Request get created and request get provisioned.
i don't understand why it's not working,if i assigned role approver stage first in a path of workflow.role approver (approver determinator:"role" standard one, "approver" gets from configuration:roles:create role:role approver OR upload from role import).

SSM - Entry/Approval and PAS Question

I need help understanding why data isn't loading into PAS using E&A.
I created a very simple model in cubebuilder with two variables, variable1 and variable2 (KPI1 and KPI2 for shortnames in PAS). The cube built successfully and I can see the variables in PAS - these are NOT dimensioned:

The model connections are created within the admintool. I went into Entry and Approval setup and create a one-step process (Data Entry only) for one period (so current data and date ranges all set to Oct 08) using pipadmin for the administrator. I create a model set in Entry and Approval, select variable1-actual and variable1-target and make pipadmin the data entry person. I release the metrics set, enter a value for the target and actual data for oct. 08 for variable1. Then I go back to the main screen and load PAS data.
When I go into PAS, I don't see any data loaded.

What am I doing wrong?

I discovered in the trace file that the following message was appearing:
[SAP AG][SQLOD32 DLL][MaxDB] Invalid authorization specification;-4008 POS(1) Unknown user name/password combination
SQLSTATE: 28000
SQL System code: -4008
Sou2026 I went back to MaxDB SQL Studio and logged in as the user to double check the U/P combination and it worked fine. I re-entered the correct password in the linkid connection and it tested successfully.
However u2013 when I went into PAS and did the following:

I got the error msg again. So I created a new u201Ctestu201D linkid and went into pas u2013 and it connected no problem.
Sou2026 I removed the linkid and recreated, and it worked! Not sure what was amiss.

SSM 7.5 SP7 - Entry & Approval decimal places

Hi all,
I create a PAS database with several KPI's/metrics. For one of those KPI's I configure the Actual and the Target metrics to have 4 decimal places.
My question is now related with the Entry & Approval, because when I try to put values on those metrics E&A only allows two decimal places (is ignoring the setting of PAS database).
How can I insert a value with 4 decimal places for those metrics using E&A?
PS: This happens in both E&A metric set form, and also using the Excel data entry of E&A.

Hi Pedro,
As far as I know you won't be able to load more than two decimal places in E&A unless you use customization. And the second problem is that even if you load the four decimals for your measures (through E&A or automatically) the scorecard will still show 2 decimal places so I think you would need another change there as well.
In my experience this changes are relatively easy (depending on the flexibility of your users), but as they are customizations you need to change it in such a way it's easy to maintain from one service pack or release to the next one.
