Env-entry-mapping in orion-application-client not available in JNDI lookup

I have an application client module in my EAR file that I've configured to auto-start.
It has a few env-entry defined in it's application-client.xml.
When I deploy the EAR file to OC4J 10.1.3, the application client module gets started and can access these env-entry properties from its JNDIContext.
Now, comes the problem. During the deployment process, I edit the Deployment Plan, and change the env-entry property values, and then deploy the application.
However, the application client module still gets the original values when it does the JNDI lookups of those env-entry names.
I have checked to see that OC4J creates an orion-application-client.xml during deployment and it shows the env-entry-mapping elements with the updated values.
Why is the JNDI lookup returning the values from application-client.xml and not the overriden values set in orion-application-client.xml?
I have tried this on OC4J 10.1.3, as well as 10.1.3.1.0 - got same behavior.
Is this a bug in OC4J? This seems to work fine with ejb modules, but not application client modules.

Hi,
Did anyone try <env-entry-mapping> in orion-ejb-jar.xml? It seems that it is suppressed during deployment. The orion-ejb-jar.xml being generated into -deploymentDirectory place (specified or default) simply drops these mappings. The effect is that whatever had been specified in ejb-jar.xml prevails, with obvious, bad consequences.
Besides, I think I read somewhere that Deployer-supplied orion-ejb-jar.xml would only be augmented with missing specifications. This to me implies that nothing should be removed from it. Perhaps, then, THIS IS A BUG.
ORION TEAM: I'm running 9.0.3.0.0/NT. I'd appreciate your help and 'know-how', especially if you could offer something better than manually editing orion-ejb-jar.xml in -deploymentDirectory AFTER EACH SUCH TIME THE APPLICATION IS DEPLOYED!

env-entry-mapping element is removed during deployment process

I overwrite the variable value defined in ejb-jar.xml by the one defined in orion-ejb-jar.xml using <env-entry-mapping> element. But after my appliocation has deployed I don't find this element in the application orion-ejb-jar.xml. Oracle AS just removes this element from the descriptor!

i am using oracle application server 10g,
when i am trying to override the values of more than one enviroment enteries in enterprise manager web module enviroment page /enviroment entries
the following error appear:
Commit Failed - Entity et="system";ei="0",et="application";ei="18",et="WebModule";ei="30",et="orion-web-app";ei="31",et="env-entry-mapping";ei="41"
cannot have the same key values with its sibling entity et="system";ei="0",et="application";ei="18",et="WebModule";ei="30",et="orion-web-app";ei="31",et="env-entry-mapping";ei="42".
Resolution: Check key values for the sibling entities.
any ideas?

Error "Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'" while transporting process chain to production system.

Hi Gurus,
Whenever I try to transport a process chain ZFI_0FIGL_C10 from dev. to qua. & prod. the error “Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'” is displayed in the end of creating transport package.
The process chain was created to load data to 0figl_c10 and it works all right on all systems (dev. qua. prod.).
The process chain contains processes for:
- starting the process chain
- executing infopackage (for loading data to 0figl_o10),
- ACR (activate data in 0figl_o10)
- delete index 0figl_c10
- DTP loading data from 0figl_o14 to 0figl_c10
- executing infopackage 80FIGL_O10
- creating index in 0figl_c10
- building DB statistics
- rolling up aggregates in 0figl_c10
- deleting of requests from the changelog 0figl_o10
- deleting of requests from PSA (0fi_gl_10)
How to find what cause that error.

A SAP consultant told me to ignore that error.
Indeed, after creating transport with some new process chains (again I was informed about that error "APCO ...") and transporting it to production everything works all right.
The problem is described in sap note: 883745.

BlackBerry App World 1.1 - "This application is not available..."

Model: Curve 8330
OS: 4.5.0.77
Carrier: Verizon
I was able to resolve my connection issue to App World 1.1, the issue I run into now is attempting to download applications. I get the follow message on any application I click on:
"This application is not available on your device or for your carrier"
Example: I clicked on the app Facebook (which I know works for the Curve 8330) and got the msg stating it is not available.
I tried troubleshooting the issue by uninstall/install the App World 1.1, but that did not resolve the issue.

Data entered by ITS application partly not available at BSP application

Environment:
We have an old ITS application to enter absences and presences to SAP HR.
And we have a new BSP application to delete absences and presences.
Both applications are available for the employee in an employee self service, that has an navigation developed with BSP.
Problem:
All data entered with the ITS application, could not be deleted in the BSP application, if the user does not log off. Or until he deletes one dataset, that he did not entered after the current login. If he deleted one old dataset, all new datasets can also be deleted.
The ITS application stores the data with the function HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA.
The BSP application deletes the data also with the HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA function.
But its strange, that I can read the newly entered data with select from the Database or the function HR_READ_INFOTYPE. But when the users selects this dataset, the BSP class currently read, the HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA cant delete, because of the message "no data in timeperiod". Even the function 'BAPI_ABSENCE_GETDETAIL' reads the data.
Seems to be some kind of buffer problem. Reading the data is possible, but trying to modify/delete does not work.
Also this did not help:
*using more commit works.
*Try to initialize buffers with the functions "HR_INITIALIZE_BUFFER", 'HR_PSBUFFER_INITIALIZE', "HRPAD00_FREE_PLOG_TAB" or "HR_PSA_CLEAR_BUFFER"
Trying to delete the absences with the function 'BAPI_ABSENCE_DELETE' instead of the HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA function (without DESTINATION and with DESTINATION 'NONE').
Does anybody has an idea, why my BSP application works fine with all datasets, entered before the current login, but can not delete datasets I newly entered (but I can read them, I only cant delete them!). And what is more strange: after I delete on old dataset, then I can delete also the new datasets!

Is your provisioning profile for Development or Ad-Hoc distribution?

If this is a manual step (which I believe it is), this is not something I did when I originally provisioned the MMS.
But I have tried it, and still, the Terms Sets are not available when I go to Site Settings > Term Store Management
Just to confirm what I just attempted:
Central Admin > Application Management > Manage Service Applications > %ManagedMetaDataService% > Permissions
Under Connection Permissions, I added the service account which is the identity for the Web Application and gave it
'Full Access to Term Store'
Is there an additional step I missed? I have looked at the SQL permisisons as they all seem fine.

WD demo application: "Service not available" although service active

Hi everyone
I am new in Web Dynpro and while doing some tutorials I came across WD application DEMO_CONTEXT_PROP (package SWDP_DEMO). I wanted to test it, but I get error page "Service not available" and error code 403 "Forbidden". And if I test the service directly in SICF, I get error message SHTTP009.
The service itself is active in SICF, as well as the mentioned services in SAP note 1088717. And I can run other WD demo applications (such as DEMO_TABLE) without problems. Only this one is giving me problems.
The funny thing is that in SICF there are 2 services called DEMO_CONTEXT_PROP! One is greyed out, the other one is active. But even if I right-click on the one that is greyed out, is still says "active"!?

we had this issue some weaks ago. When upgrading a system to EhP3 SAP delivered a new WebDynpro ICF service which had already been delivered earlier in a support package.
Problem is that the name of the SICF service is not its key. The real key for the service is a generated GUID which is stored in the database. If you create a service and later SAP delivers it or if SAP developed in 2 different release stacks the service may appear dublicated as you have 2 different GUIDs for the service. If the service is there twice the system tries one by chance if you are unlucky it takes the inactive one and you get the 403 error.
Thanls to Ramp Up status we discussed this directly with development. Unfortunately there is no real cleanup / consolidation function yet. The straight forward solution was renaming one of the services. As you only use a Demo Web Dynpro ICF service any of them will work. Perhaps you have to activate the one which is not renamed (you cannot really choose which you rename as the SICF tree is totally confused by the 2 services).
If you have this trouble for a production service you need the SAP to tell you which service (which GUID) is the long term supported and rename the other (perhaps you have to rename, rename the other and then rename the first back). If you do not do this you get the same problem with every Support Package which touches the ICF Services again.

Hi Olga,
After you created the new application You have to setup the security accessfor that application.
You have to open the admin console and you have to set the access to new application into Member Access profile of your user.
You will see there that for new application you don't have any access (regarding the secure dimensions) and because of that you are not able to see the new application into client.
Attention you have to do the connection wizard after you set the right access to application because just in this way the combox will be refresh with new application.

Currnetly we are usning EPM 11.1.2.2 , we are trying to install and configure
Interactive reporting in Linux 64 bit system.
we are few questions jotted below:
Interactive reporting studio client & Interactive reporting Dashboard Development Studio client are disabled.
post installation we are not able to see IR Client folder in <EPM HOME> location.
while launching workspace we are not able to see the WEB Client Interactive reporting under TOOLS-->INSTALL.
we read in a blog, which states it Interactive reporting needs a license. whether it needs any special License for using it?
we downloaded the Entire Dump of EPMS 11.1.2.2 from Oracle Edelivery website.
Kindly let us know we are missing any where?
we are strucked at this point.

If you want the 11.1.2.0 assemblies you will need to contact Oracle as they have been removed from edelivery.

Oracle 817 client not available in ODBC Data Source Administrator pick list...

I have installed Oracle 817 client on a PC.
I can see the server, I can see the instance.
I can log into the instance using SQLPlus with no problem.
The product I'm using requires an ODBC connection configured in the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
When I try to configure it in the DSA, Oracle 8 is not in the list.
HELP!

I assume you have Windows on the client. The "Drivers" page of the ODBC_DSA should list all installed drivers. You require:
name= Oracle ODBC Driver
version= 8.01.07.00 (or something similar)
company= Oracle Corporation DO NOT USE the Microsoft one.
If this does not show, then either it was not included in the Oracle Client installation or you have not rebooted after the Oracle Client installation; the ODBC driver is not visible until rebooted.
