Epiphany-aqd (GNOME browser) is alive again!

My patched epiphany browser is updated again in AUR
It makes epiphany to act like in a normal browser rather than desktop *pages* (= original epiphany design).
Feature list:
- Always save session when you quit (close last window)
- Add a "Quit" item in File menu
- New tab opens next to the current tab
- History/Bookmark links are opened in new tab next to the current tab
- Keep one empty tab when you try to close the last tab of a window.
- Disable all annoying SSL warnings from gecko engine.
time to sleep...

Works nicely. Could even convince me back to Epiphany from firefox (bizarrely had better performance in firefox).
And of course it works with globalmenu... Are you going to go back to helping the new project on that?

    See if you can find a NPPDF32.DLL files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)
    You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.

    You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
    It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
    You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
    If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.

  • The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.OK. I followed the instruction and the problem still persists.

    I got the following pop-up when I tried to open an online PDF file:
    The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
    Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.
    I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
    The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

    After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
    My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.
    Hope that helps!

  • Cisco ISE - Reauthentication of client if server becomes alive again

    Dears,
    I have this case where Cisco ISE server is used to authenticate & authorize clients on the network.
    I configured the switch port to authorize the client in case the ISE server is dead (or not reachable).
    The thing is that I want to reauthenticate the client once the ISE server becomes alive again but I am not able to.. ("Additional Information is needed to connect to this network" bullet is not appearing and the client PC remains authenticated and assigned to the VLAN.
    Below is the switch port configuration:
    interface FastEthernet0/5
    switchport access vlan 240
    switchport mode access
    switchport voice vlan 156
    authentication event server dead action authorize vlan 240
    authentication event server alive action reinitialize
    authentication host-mode multi-domain
    authentication order dot1x mab
    authentication priority mab
    authentication port-control auto
    mab
    dot1x pae authenticator
    spanning-tree portfast
    Anyone can help?
    Regards,

    Please check whether the switch is dropping the connection or the server.
    Symptoms or Issue
     802.1X and MAB authentication and authorization are successful, but the switch is dropping active sessions and the epm session summary command does not display any active sessions.
    Conditions
     This applies to user sessions that have logged in successfully and are then being terminated by the switch.
    Possible Causes
     •The preauthentication ACL (and the subsequent DACL enforcement from Cisco ISE) on the NAD may not be configured correctly for that session.
    •The preauthentication ACL is configured and the DACL is downloaded from Cisco ISE, but the switch brings the session down.
    •Cisco ISE may be enforcing a preposture VLAN assignment rather than the (correct) postposture VLAN, which can also bring down the session.
    Resolution
     •Ensure the Cisco IOS release on the switch is equal to or more recent than Cisco IOS Release 12.2.(53)SE.
    •Check to see whether or not the DACL name in Cisco ISE contains a blank space (possibly around or near a hyphen "-"). There should be no space in the DACL name. Then ensure that the DACL syntax is correct and that it contains no extra spaces.
    •Ensure that the following configuration exists on the switch to interpret the DACL properly (if not enabled, the switch may terminate the session):
    radius-server attribute 6 on-for-login-auth
    radius-server attribute 8 include-in-access-req
    radius-server attribute 25 access-request include
    radius-server vsa send accounting
    radius-server vsa send authentication

  • Can a dead thread be alive again !!

    can a dead thread be alive again ?
    i have added some threads in a thread group. and then called its activeCount() methods.
    it is giving results like this....
    the active count:10
    the active count:5
    the active count:2
    the active count: 1
    the active count: 2 // dead thread alive ?
    the active count: 0
    is it feasible theoretically ? i am getting that kind of output

    as most of the time, the API doc saves the day :
    activeCount
    public int activeCount()
    Returns an estimate of the number of active
    tive threads in this thread group. The result might
    not reflect concurrent activity,
    number of activetive threadswhat is the meaning of active here ? alive() ? there is a isalive() method already ......
    and might be
    affected by the presence of certain system threads......u mean system thread can leak into my threadgroup....well
    Due to the inherently imprecise nature of the
    the result, it is recommended that this method only
    be used for informational purposes.
    Returns:
    an estimate of the number of active threads
    threads in this thread group and in any other thread
    group that has this thread group as an ancestor.
    Since:
    JDK1.0

  • How to replace Epiphany in Gnome Shell ?

    Hi there,
    when im searching for something in the gnome shell overview it offers me to search for it on the web, if nothing is found on my system.
    Unfortunally epiphany is opened,but I want to use chromium.
    I selected Chromium in the "Default App" Dialog but that does not take effect:
    How can i change this ?

    I'm looking for doing the exact same thing, but with Firefox.
    Relevant GNOME documentation:  https://developer.gnome.org/shell/stabl … ystem.html and https://developer.gnome.org/shell/stabl … ider2.html.
    I also found this commit log that details a bit more which files are involved in the process of making Epiphany's search provider...
    Another example with an extension that integrates Wikipedia search in the shell: Wikipedia Search Provider (GitHub page linked).
    I tried creating /usr/share/gnome-shell/search-providers/firefox-search-provider.ini based on epiphany's one by just substituting browser names, however while this put a Firefox option in Search settings
    of course it doesn't pop up in Shell results... I don't know what I should modify to do so, but it's probably a lot more effort than that
    I must add that as soon as a search is done through the Shell that offers you to expand it in Epiphany/Web, a complete Epiphany/Web process (so it is WebKitWebPocess and epiphany) starts in headless-mode and eats up some of your RAM (54MB on my system), even if you didn't follow through in Epiphany (dev blog post about this "feature": https://people.gnome.org/~csaavedra/news-2013-10.html). No need to say that those processes don't terminate by themselves either, and if you do it manually it'll crash-restart your session.
    As I wasn't happy with this I disabled Web search provider in GNOME Control Center (Preferences > Search) and use the Web Search Provider extension, the only that allows you to search through configured search provider AND respect your default browser choice AFAICT... Let us know if you find something else!

  • How do I get the Fire fox to come alive again on my Home Page

  • Applet doesn't takeup the new file until browser is started again

    Hi Friends
    I have made a applet which can record and also can play the .wav file.
    I am using java sound api.
    But when I run this applet and record the sound and then click a button to play it , it plays the older file. But after recording, the older file got replaced with the new file, then why it plays the older. It should now play the new file.
    But after closing the IE browser and starting it again plays the newer recorded fle. Refreshing applet doesn't work.
    I have checked this also on firefox browser, same is happening.
    I have also tried to solve this problem using threading, but could not succeed. In threading I made AudioClip object null and reassigned the value in run method of the thread.
    Please solve this problem.
    Thanks

    I've found that the render error is due to the applet being hidden/displayed via JavaScript. Now that I've played around with that, I find it a highly unrecommendable approach. Basically what's done is:
    <div id="foo">
    <applet id="myapplet" ...>
    </applet>
    </div>
    <script>
    document.getElementById('foo').style.visibility = 'hidden';
    document.getElementById('foo').style.visibility = 'visible';
    document.getElementById('myapplet').repaint();
    </script>
    The "repaint" call does call the repaint method in the applet, but the result is the sad picture that I've linked to.
    Anyone know a robust way to repaint an applet from JavaScript?

  • After updating to version 3.5.9 all websites send back a URL error. I end up having to do a system restore to before i installed the update to get ithe browser to work again. Any suggestions?

    I've downloaded the update a total of three times now. Each time an error message saying that the webpage can not be found is the only thing that comes up no matter what page i try to access. I've tried to restart my computer, restart firefox, run windows 7 troubleshooter on the wireless connection all to no avail.
    == URL of affected sites ==
    http://

    That is not the problem. When I enstall a new browser or updates for the one i have i temporarily uninstall the security program to ensure that there are no conflicts. Once the updates or new browser is installed i reinstall the security program and double check to make sure it has permission.

    Thanks for the suggestion - removing my adblock and reinstalling the
    flashplayer solved the problem, working fine now with new adblock which
    will go bye-bye before I do the next update (not a fan of resorting to

    I put my 27" imac to sleep and it does for about 5-7 seconds and the screen is awake again. I have tried shutting down every application and still does the same, can anyone help? Is to complicated to carry the unit to my nearest apple store, but I'll do it if there is no other choice.
    Thank you
