EPS file editing---checkered screen

When I open an .eps file, there is a checkered background that is driving me crazy. It goes away when I print, but how do I turn it off on the screen to edit my file? I have tried to save as psd file, does not help. Hi all, I am very new to photoshop, so maybe I am missing something here. I have a headache just looking at it.

Does View>Show/HideTransparency Grid have any affect?

I was messing with the computer, not sure what i hit but now all my toolbars at the top of the screen are gone? (file, edit, history, tools and my forward and back button). Please help me get these settings back to the way they were?

Once the menu bar is restored, you can use the Toolbars entry in the View menu to restore other toolbars such as the navigation toolbar.

My location bar, tool bar (file, edit, tools, bookmarks, help) disappeared and cannot be restored. I have no back button, home button etc. the top of the screen is just an empty blue bar. Internet still works if I click on a hyperlink on the main page.

The problem started when I turned on the computer this morning. I tried to install Mozilla 4 from your website and that installed but I still have nothing on the top.

It may be due to Firebug. Seeing as how you're a web developer, it's very possible you have this installed. The latest version, 1.7X a10, appears to cause everything you described. I downgraded to "a8" and that seems to have fixed everything.
I also recreated a profile from scratch before trying this out, so I can't guarantee it's definitely Firebug.

Lost the 'file, edit' etc'task bar on the left side of my mail menu. my upper left screen reads 'welcome to lightroom moblie. I never had nor can use these. how do i back to basic LR and upper left task bar?

I have lost my 'file,edit, ...' task bar from the upper left side of my LR screen. My upper left corner now reads something about welcome to Lightroom mobile. ( I have never had or used the mobile version and I can't use it anyway. ) When I push my mouse pointer up again the top of the screen the 'file, edit,...' does not reappear and stay as it has been doing for the last 3 years. How can I get it back? And, maybe what did I do so I can avoid this from happening again? Thank you. (I am not PC knowledgeable, please bear with me.)

Does the menu bar appear when you move your mouse pointer to the top of your display. If so then you could change the behavior of Lightroom via the menu Window->Screen Mode

I bought some vector eps files and would like to edit the text in them. How would I go about doing so? Are there any tutorials that you could direct me to? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately they don't mention text.
Did you get a warning about missing fonts when opening the file? That would be an indicator that there might be editable text.
When you go into outline mode, is the text shown in solid black or as an outline? If the latter, you can't edit it.
There are a couple of threads on the subject in this forum. So searching for "stock graphic" and editing, text etc. might take you there.
Actually you need to take a deep dive into how vector graphics work, so you also might consider reading some chapters of the manual.

It won't be a simple task. The people who sold you this graphic, give the impression that this can just be done, but that's only the case if you know how it works. You might also confront them with what's not possible and ask them where to go from here.

Can't Edit EPS File

I am trying to edit an EPS file that another developer sent me but when I open it I see the objects but I can't select them or make edits to it. I attached the file, can someone look at it and see what I am overlooking please?

Be sure you are not in Full Screen Mode. The F11 key will toggle Full Screen Mode on or off. If you have no Firefox toolbars, tab bar, etc., you are probably in Full Screen Mode; your Windows Taskbar (with the "Start" button) will also not be visible.

How do i edit an eps file?

How do i edit an eps file in illustrator? I've downloaded the file from shutterstock but don't know how to edit the text etc.

You need to first check if it is editable text.
Go in outline mode (View > Outline). Then check if the text in filled black or just outlined. In case it's outlined, you can't edit it.

My Bars are all stacked one on top of the other ie ASK A QUESTIONS, under that: File, Edit, History etc, under that Mozilla Firefox start page, tab tab etc. This uses 1/3 of my screen, can I make it all one bar

I don't know how to insert a screen shot of my problem but as described above, right now I have 5 bars on top of my window.
1. Ask a question under that
2. File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help under that
3; Mozilla Firefox start page (tab Ask a Question)
under that
4. Address line (www.you ask me.com) under that
5. Latest headlines, most visited, City of Balch Springs etc.
I don't want all these bars and I don't want all that window space used.
What ever you can do to help will be GREATLY appreciated

Thanks for the reply however, I don't want to "not show" these toolbars I just don't want them stacked one on top of the other. See what I mean with the snapshot attached. (Hopefully attached)

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 (presumed 64 bit).....
1. Music files and error message...are these music files from iTunes? If so, convert them to .wav in iTunes to convert them to wav version, and then import the .wav version into Premiere Elements 13 project using Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the wav version to the Soundtrack.

If any problems with the instructions, please let me know, and I will go through them with you.
2. How you set up the project and the export settings that you select greatly influence your end product result.
a. What are the properties of the source media?
b. What project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set to match the properties of the source media.
(If you do not know, please tell us what you see for the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio - even
if the fields look grayed out.)
c. For your export...Publish+Share/Computer/and then what? And what preset? Did you use the default settings of the preset or did you
customize the export settings of the preset under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

The File/edit/view/history/tools/help bar and the Back/refresh/and home buttons that used to be on the top left of the screen are no longer there. I want them back

I don't know what I did, maybe download a more recent version of firefox, but I no longer have any of the file/edit/view/history/bookmarks/tools/help bar on upper left hand of the screen.
I also lost the BACK button the refresh or undo button and the home button.
where did they go and how do I get them back?

Aha! I found the "refresh" button at the end of the place where I enter the URL. don't know where "home" is yet, but my home page has mysteriously appeared in the tool bar above the URL.

File, edit, etc options no longer at the top of the screen since upgrade. My right-click doesn't work so I need the File, Edit options. How can I bring them back?

I only have Firefox tabs now and have not memorized all the Command keys to use when right clicking doesn't work. How can I access "File", "edit", etc....they used to be at the top of the screen before upgrade. I need to be able to copy/paste easily. Thank you.

The menu toolbar is hidden at default in Vista. You can use F11 to show it temporarily. Please also read this article:

You can access Acrobat online services using this Link ( cloud.acrobat.com ) , although you might need to sign-in using your Adobe ID, before you can access those services.
