Error 1303 trying to install Adobe 9 on a Windows 7 computer...

Hi,
So I just got a new Dell Inspiron 580 with Windows 7... I get the following error when I try and install it...
Error 1303.  The installer has insufficient privileges to access the directory: c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Resource\Font\PFM.  The installation cannot continue.  Log on as an administrator or contact your system administrator.
I did right click the program and click "Run As Administrator" and still got this error.
Any ideas how to fix and get this installed?

I am having the same error on Vista.  I followed the instructions here:

...(not noticing that that solution addressed the Program Data folder, not the Program Files folder), and it didn't work, but I wonder if a similar procedure on Program Files would work.  But I don't know anything about the Vista/Win7 security system, so I'm a little wary of trying it.  Would appreciate any thoughts.

    Trying to install Adobe CC on new Windows 8.1 - as soon as Creative Cloud Desktop App launches - it says I am signed out.  That is as far as I get.
    I have looked up the trouble shooting tips on Adobe and have tried them all.

    I am not sure what you mean by software title?  "Creative Cloud Desktop App" - "Internet Explorer"
    Literally a brand new laptop from HP - HP Envy i7 processor -- bought last Monday and Adobe products were the first I needed -  so whatever defaults HP put on it ~
    Not sure if there was another "firewall" with software or with Comcast that was doing it but I turned off two firewalls, even turned off Anti-virus trying to get it to work.
    I teach CS and Adobe Products so believe me when I say - I was very resourceful and refusing to give up but almost took the computer back.  I now have to explain this to my students as they are experiencing the same difficulties but lack some of the computer experience to even find all the resources to install.  It just shouldn't be this hard.
    Every semester my students say they have to get hold of an Adobe rep to get it installed.

    Adding to what Pat has mentioned, I can also see that you have the serial number for both Mac & Windows. I hope you are using the correct key for the platform where in you are installing the product as that could be the only reason. Please check the keys once again and use the correct one and that should solve the concern.

    I think I figued it out... But why installations instructions didn't come up when I inserted the disk was very annoying. And because they didn't, Adobe should post th installations instructions somewhere on their support site. Not here now, which is also annoying.

    and delete the "Acrobat" folder found in

    Then launch Acrobat. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
    If there's no change in behavior, please attempt to go to:

    If you can't get to this website there may be a firewall or other software blocking the connection. Acrobat must be able to reach this https URL and 3 others in order to complete and monitor the subscription/trial process.

    This solved numerous install and runtime issues for me as well. All my AIR apps were crashing with segfaults or bus errors, the AIR uninstaller would crash every time as well and when I ran the AIR installer it would give me an error message saying that it required AIR to be installed in order to run.  After turning off Graphics Switching, all of these problems stopped and AIR is working well again. 
    I agree that an issue this severe needs to be made MUCH more visible until it is completely addressed.  I had an incredibly problematic week because I was travelling and needed to run an AIR application on my Macbook in order to create and present application mockups to a major client.  In the end I had to crate a virtual installation of windows XP and run the AIR application from there - knowing there was such a simple workaround would have made my life much easier!

    Lmslugo please move your current installation to the trash can, empty the trash, and reinstall.  This should give you a new copy of the application with a current certificate.

    As I said in your other thread, PSE 4 has not been compatible with OS X since around 10.4. It will not install in 10.8. PSE 6 is the oldest version you can use. PSE 4 is a PPC application and 10.8 requires intel software.
