Error 1722 when installing Run-Time Engine 6.0

I am unable to install the necessary LabView Run-Time Engine 6.0 required to run my VitalView Software. I have reviewed the message boards and attempted all possible solutions: disabling anti-virus programs, following the NI support links: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/334E91287EDEA75286256D9B003A947A?OpenDocument.
None of these methods will allow for the Run-Time engine to be installed. What can I do?
Help very much appreciated, thank you!

My OS is Windows XP.
I am trying to install an older LabView run-time engine since my application VitalView asks for a LabView 6.0 Run-time engine (or something compatible).
I have attached the jpg of the error message that I receive whenever I attempt to install the LabView engine.

What's going on here? I have LabVIEW 7.0 and Visual Basic 6 installed on this Win-XP computer. When I open VB6, I always get what looks like a Windows Installer error:
First, it asked me for the location of "lvruntimeeng.msi", which I located for it. The next progress-window says:

Finally it fails with this error-message window:

The two windows repeat twice each time I launch VB6's IDE, and that causes a long delay. What can I do to prevent this error?

Yes it occurrs every time I launch VB6.
For a long time now, at least many months. It's not every day that I need to open good old VB6. I was hoping it'd just 'go away' but it hasn't.
I don't know what changes lead up to it. LOTS of things have been updated, security-patched, etc... (It is XP.) I've even un-installed the runtime, then re-installed it when I kept getting the same prompt. Don't have any idea why, I was hoping you could tell me from the specific file named in the error. (Google didn't find it for me, and neither did searching ni.com)
p.s., Sorry I left out a decimal and copy/pasted it several times... should've said "NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 7.1.1"

Fatal Error in LV8.2 Run-Time Engine install

Hi,
We have a serious problem with installation of LV 8.2 Run-Time Engine (RTE).
When a Domain Administrator is trying to install the RTE, the installation stops with the following error (see RTEInstallFatalError.jpg):
In error message path 'mk' references to domain Administrator user name.
When a Local Administrator installs the RTE, there is no problem.
Any explanations or suggestions? It is a very heavy bug, if even the domain administrator cannot install the RTE and therefore use the application.

Found a solution to the problem...
As the error indicates there is a problem with the user's profile folder 'My Documents'. Domain administrator did not have 'My Documents' in his profile. After creating such a folder there manually, RTE installation worked successfully.
So now the question rises: why RTE installation requires such a folder to exist? Nothing is installed there!
My opinion is that RTE installation needs to be much more reliable than it is currently. Professional developers who make commercial products using LabVIEW will have a lot of pain with the current solution.
1) Customization options for RTE are poor. I think that most of the companies that deploy their LV-made application want no extra stuff installed. If the developer knows that e.g. TDMS or NI-REPORTS are not used in his application, there should be an option to NOT install these with RTE!
2) There should be more documentation (by NI) on RTE installation and its error handling should be improved.
I hope more discussion on RTE.

LabVIEW 2011SP1 Error building installer: LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2013 is missing 3 dependencies???

I'm having a problem building an installer in LabVIEW 2011SP1.
It's been a while since I've tried to build an installer but it used to work fine and building executables is still working fine.
Now when I try to build the installer I get "The build was unsuccessful."

The really strange thing about this is that I'm using LabVIEW 2011SP1, I don't even have LabVIEW 2013 installed, not even the runtime.
Where is the problem? Why is it even complaining about LabVIEW 2013? Has anyone seen this before?

I do have the LabVIEW 2013 discs but didn't install it.
I checked in Control Panel > Programs and Features > National Instruments Software and the LabVIEW 2013 Run-Time is not listed there.
I also checked in MAX > Software and I must have missed it the first time I looked. LabVIEW Run-Time 2013 is listed there after all.
Now I remember installing VISA 5.4 to get rid of a nasty bug. It must have installed the 2013 Run-Time when I did that.
So now I need to distribute 2 runtimes with my application?!?!

Can't install run-time engine on Ubuntu 8.04. Get /bin/sh failed to load.

Simply receive a message when trying to install the LabView run-time engine .rpm file that says /bin/sh failed to load (or is required, I forget exactly). I checked, I have BASH installed, and /bin/sh is a shortcut to an executable on my machine. Is this a bug in the installer, or is there something else I need?

LabVIEW installation is not supported on Debian based Linux systems (of which Ubuntu is the most popular). However, many people have had success installing to various flavors of Ubuntu. You can search these forums using the key Ubuntu and find the problems they had and how they solved them. If you cannot find an answer to your problem, let us know.

Installing Run Time engine question

Hi,
I am new to this and I am looking for information on how to set up a test system PC.
I have the 2014 developer software and one test seat but need to know how to install the labview 2014
runtime engine and anything else that I need in order to use this test system PC to run Labview and teststand
applications that I create with my development system PC...
Is there any tutorials or instructions out there that I can download that will tell me everything that I need to install and how on my target test system?

Close all NI software.
Run the LVRTE2014_f1Patchstd.exe self-extracting executable and follow the prompts.
Repeat these steps for all development systems where you want to install the LabVIEW 2014 Run-Time Engine (32-bit).
The installation files for the Run-Time Engine are automatically extracted to a directory on disk. The installer does not remove the files after installing, if you want to remove these files from disk, be sure to note their location during the unzipping process.

Installing run-time engine 7.0 on windows NT

I attempted to Install Labview run-time engine 7.0 (LVRunTimeEng), on windows NT with workgroups 4, but got the message wrong OS. I am sure I downloaded the correct version (which is supposed to support Windows NT). Anyone have the same problem ? Anyone know how to fix it?

This message comes from the MSI installer engine. The engine requires Service Pack 6 to be installed on NT 4.0 systems. Can you verify that you have this service pack.

5310 XpressMusic Error 1722 when installing Nokia ...

I was thrilled to win this phone, but for the past week, I have been trying to install Nokai Music on the PC. The configurations are correct, so that isn't the problem, but every time I get Error 1722 saying that a program run as part of the setup has not finished as expected.
I have used the installation CD that came with the phone.
I have downloaded Nokia Music Install from the website after seeing another thread that said that sometimes the Cds didn't work.
I put Service Pack 3 for Windows XP and tried installing it again, even though specs say that only up to SP2 is needed.
I have taken the computer offline and tried installing it with all of the antivirus software off.
Any suggestions? Since I don't know when the phone was purchased for the competition, I don't know how long I have left before the window for registration expires, so a little worried.

hi not sure if this is a fix to the problem but my pc crashed the other day and i had to reboot this put my pc back to factory settings and i lost all programes.
after i put most of the thing's back on my pc i attempted to install nokia music before i put the nokia pc suite back on and everything worked.
so try uninstalling nokia pc suite and put the nokia music and your express music pin if you have one first. i think the two programes clash and that may be why it won't work, i've not yet re-installed the nokia pc suite again and i don't think i will.
post back here if this works for anyone.

Error 1722 when installing Adobe Flash Player 10.1 (Active X MSI)

I'm experiencing an issue with installing the latest Adobe Flash 10.1 (ActiveX MSI) on Windows XP.
It's coming up with error code 1722 stating...
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action NewCustomAction1, location: ...\InstallAX.exe, com..."
I've tried many things such as SubInACL resets, ISScript 11 installer, adobe uninstallers, manually register ocx files, using the local administrator account, changing Internet Explorer Security settings, running Proc Mon to identify the issue - to no avail -, downloading the MSI file again, running the EXE file, but I can't seem to install the player.
The real scary side to this is that it seems to me that it's too unstable for me to deploy it across the entire corporate network due to using these fixes to have the player installed.
Is anybody able to comment or assist in finding a solution to this problem.

I found the reason why the Adobe Flash Player Active X Control wasn't installing properly was due to McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise.
The Access Protection - Anti-Spyware Standard Protection module was causing the executables (when installing) to NOT accessing specific parts of the registry to complete the installation.
I've had to make the following changes to my McAfee policies in order to allow the Adobe Flash Player Active X Control to install successfully.
Anti-Spyware Standard Protection - Protect Internet Explorer favorites and settings
Processess to exclude:-
InstallAX.exe
FlashUtil10h.exe
Uninstall_flash_player.exe
You might be able to make similar changes to your environment if you're using another product.
I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing the same issue that I was experiencing whilst trying to understand what was happening in our environment.

Error 1722 when installing 1.4.2_02... 1.4.2-b28 cannot be located

I'm trying to install Java 1.4.2_02 on Windows XP Professional, but half way through I get an error:
Java Update (1.4.2_02-b3) cannot be installed because the base image 1.4.2-b28 cannot be located.
This then leads to another popup: "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected..."
I've seen that some people have had a similar problem, but not identical to this. I'm installing in the default directory, but still the problem occurs. Any suggestions?

I found this on the SUN installation notes.
"Choosing an installation path containing characters that are not part of the system code page - On Windows 2000, XP, and 2003, it is possible to name directories using characters that are not part of the system locale's code page. If such a directory is part of the installation path, then error 1722 occurs, and installation is not completed.
To prevent this problem, make sure that the user and system locales are identical, and that the installation path only contains characters that are part of the system locale's code page. User and system locales can be set in the Regional Options or Regional Settings control panel.
The associated bug number is 4895647."

But on step 10, when a I tried to Select the property "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects" and aply, the PC showed an error saying that de Registry Editor cannot define the security of that key selected or one of its sub-keys.
I tried to install after this and showed de 1722 error's message again.

I'm reinstalling my Flight Simulator X on Windows 8.1, but when I'm in the second disk, the error 1722 is displayed and the process stops. I don't know if is a media failure and I have to get another disk or I can do something else. The game was
working fine before in W8.1
If I have to get another disk, where and how I can do it, or I can download from an official site?.

actually the problem is i am logging in a company system, which is using a GDNINDIA domain... the installation requires a local admin without any domain..

Hi, I'm trying to communicate with an instrument through TCP/IP using AK protocol. I've created a VI that works fine on my PC where I have installed Labview 2011.
When I create an executable from this VI to use it on a PC without Labview, it does not work and I receive the error 63.
Of course, I've have installed run-time engine and also VISA run-time, and I use the same configuration on the port (same ip address and port).
Moreover, the executable works also fine on my pc as well as the VI.
Have you got any suggestion?

Error 63 is "LabVIEW: The network connection was refused by the server.".
Is the target machine on the same subnet as the instrument?
No routers/firewalls between the two devices?
Net nanny/web filtering/firewall turned off on the target PC?
Instrument doesn't have to be configured to allow connections from the target machine's IP?
My guess is network configuration. Try pinging the instrument's IP from the target machine, see if that goes through.
First thought was missing drivers/modules, but since you've got VISA and RTE installed, I think you're covered there.
