Error adding new function in order template

Hi,
When i am trying to add a new function to order Template under /contolData/Functions/ form data dictonary
I am getting error :
Element with same name exist. The following nodes can not be added to the order.
(no namespace):/ControlData/Functions/MyNewFunction
(no namespace):/ControlData/Functions/MyNewFunction/componentKey
Thanks
Harman

Hi Harman,
You might need to be more specific before I can help you. What have you done, and which step you run into the error? I supopse you have created a new "function" Order Component, and created the required Control Data nodes in Data Dictionary (what have you added?), right? So, when you go into the Order Template tab of the new Order Component (which would be empty since it was newly created), and you try to "select from Dictionary" the corresponding ControlData for the function (e.g. /ControlData/Functions/MyNewFunction), that such an error occurs?
Have you assigned a process for this Order Component? Studio does not allow adding control data to it unless a process is assigned.
Btw, you should define a namespace for your Order Components (and other orchestration entities). The OSM server uses namespace to locate these entities among cartridges.
Cheers,
Daniel Ho

• Product costing Template - adding new function in Environments CTU6

Hi Guru!!
I need to create a new function in CTU6 (Define Environments and Function Trees) in order to have information stored in MBEW table and use them in CPT2 (Template).
The goal is to calculate a value for each material/plant and add that value during the cost estimate (CK11N / CK40N).
Could someone help me? How can I add a field of MBEW in CTU6?
Thank you very much in advance!!

I designed quickly a new function in the backend with no input and only output which give me the url off the bsp server. (since there is nobody in the house who can make the iview bsp template)
I select the function from find data and put it in the model which gives the output to a store. when I deploy I get an error 1.1
element 'z retrieve http server' is not in use
anybody any clue what to do ??
kind regards

thanks for the help but I already find out what happenend. I had linked my function direct to a store but apperantly there is no trigger for the function to execute since it is on it's own without input needed. apparently I have to trigger it to implement it in a flow or something like that

• Error adding partner function

I am a newbie. I am trying to configure SD on my IDES.
I am at the point of adding partner function (Z9) to the partner procedure (ZAG)
but I am getting an error message:
"Partner function Z9 cannot be used for partner procedures"
I cannot find the answer in google. please help.

Hi Anwar,
Please check the parner function-account group and partner determination procedure-account groups are assigned properly or not from
SD >> basic functions >> partner determination >> set up partner determination >> Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master, sales doc. header etc. which type partner determination you want to maintain if you want to maintain them for customer.
In that screen, you need to maintain (Z9) to the partner procedure (ZAG) after doing Partner Determination Procedure Assignment and Account Groups - Function Assignment.
I hope these will solve your problem.

Hi i am newbie to apps
i am working with forms and reports and having access to apps ,I like to know how can register my function with specific menu and to specific responsibility.I searched this forum but didnt found a clear steps.I also like to know create and register menu in apps
thnks

Ramya
I will give you a brief explanation, but you will find more details in the document Oracle Applcations System Administrators Guide, whcih can be found on MetaLink.
Functions are used to associate a form or procedure with a menu item. The seeded forms and self service functions all have functions pre-defined. If you create new forms or self service procedures, you will want to create a new function to associate your versions to.
Once you have defined a function, you need to associate the function to a menu. If the function can be accessed directly from the menu, you need to have a menu prompt which the user can use.
Then you associate your menu (with its functions) to responsibility. You can control which menu items you want the user to access by adding 'menu or function exclusions' to the responsibility. In this way, you can have one menu, but with different variations used in different responsibilities.
There are manyu variations on this theme, but I hope this basic explanation points you int he right direction.

• Error adding new users from local server

Hello, BPC Gurus,
We use BPC 7.0 MS SP4, MS SQL 2008 (Server name - BPCP01)
In Administration Console we're trying to add user from local server (server with SQL Database), and warning window is appeared with message "The Server Is Not Operational [BPBCP01]"
I checked Logging folder and found message:
==============[System Error Tracing]==============

Any ideas?

The installation was done with a local user or with a domain user?
You know that BPC server can not be in the same time also domain controler.
Are you using Windows authentication or CMS authentication.
If you are using CMS authentication then again you can not add local users.
If you are using Windows authentication then you have to go into server Manager
Options - Define System User Groups
Domain Type - Local Windows
System User Group Name - Local Users.
If you are using Windows 2008 make sure you addrole to have compatibility with IIS 6.because using this module bpc is adding new users.

• Error while adding new function to HRMS fast formula

Hi,
when i m trying to add a new external function to BG_ABSENCE_DURATION formula, it is getting verified successfully. But when i m trying to save it, it is giving error as below:
APP-FF-33980: Internal error.
A compilation error has been detected while attempting to generate package FFP294_01011900
Please consult your system administrator.
I have compliled the package successfully using TOAD and registered the function using Define Function form. Please help me to resolve this problem.

Usually this error occurs when the called function has not been properly defined. You say you have defined it, but check that the parameters are the same in the FF call to the function and the function itself.
If that is OK, I would then create a new FF with all the same code and try to save that
Finally, if all else fails, check MetaLink as thee are a few references to other problems in this area which require patches to solve them.

• Error adding new itemWarehouseInfo

I am trying to add a new warehouse to selected items via DTW.
The error I am getting is "Update Failed-Feld cannot be updated [ODBC-1029] Application-defined or object-defined error"
Also on some items I am getting "Microsoft SQL Native Client - Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'OITW_PRIMARY_KEY: cannot insert duplicate keys into OITW"
The warehouse is brand new and it DOES NOT EXIST in any of the items ("Auto-Add" is unchecked!)
These are the steps I am performing in DTW:
1. I created 2 files items.csv and itemwarehouseInfo.csv (using templates)
2. In items.csv I added sequential recordKey field (1,2,3,....) and put item codes in the ItemCode column. Overall, I have around 600 items
3. In itemWarehouseInfo.csv I have REcordsKey set to the same numbers as in items.csv (1,2,3...), LineNum is 0 for all lines and WarehouseCode is 113 (the name of the new warehouse I have added in SAP).
4. In DTW, I choose to import oItems, I add items.csv on an item level (header) and itemWarehouseInfo.csv on itemWarehouseInfo level
5. Next, I check to make sure Target Data is correct, then i choose "Update Existing Object" in the Test Mode
i also tried doing an Insert in the test mode, but it also failed. Any ideas?
thanks

I don't think the problem is in the way it's formatted. Like I said, when I view the "Target Data" tab, it is correct, so data is pulled accurately from the files.
The problem is what happens afterwards. I am indeed trying it in test environment.
here's what I am importing
in items.csv
recordKey itemcode
1 10001
(all other fields are blank)
in itemWArehouseInfo I have
REcordKey LineNUm WarehouseCode
1 0 113

• Error adding new node to treetable automatically

We implemented a page with a treetable. We don't use a ViewObject/Query to build the tree but a pojo method, because we have a complex data model to display on the tree (dynamic tree level, multiple object types on one tree level, etc.). So we created a pojo method to build the tree -> created a data control for this method/class and dragged the method onto the tree component.
In a second step we impemented several buttons on the page to delete nodes, set values, change style, etc. which works fine.
We got stuck extending the page for a function to add a new node. When the tree is displayed for the first time we can add new nodes on every existing node. Adding a node to a new node only works if we decollapse the new node first. We get an error if we create a new node A and then try to add another node on the new node A without decollapsing node A in advance.
As follows the code and the error stack. Any ideas?

• Error adding editable region in nested template Header

I have a base template for the website (establishing basic
menus), and a secondary template using that base template, which
establishes a common table layout for one part of the site. Having
created the PHP to drive the page, I need to lock down that
secondary nested region - otherwise any edit I make to my secondary
"table-defining" template is not passed through
to the final pages using the secondary template. I have
successfully created a secondary editable region in each part of
the <body> area, and sure enough, it locks down text
outside the secondary editable region just as DW help says it
should. So far so good.
Now the problem - I cannot create a region inside the
<head> editable region to lock down that region too.
Normally one would want keywords and so on to be variable from page
to page, but as I am filling variable keywords from a database, it
makes sense to lock down the <head> too. Does anyone
know why that generates an error "cannot create an
optional region here"? Is there anything that can be done
about it?

Posts are hard to read when they are all crammed together
like yours. Try
making some paragraphs!
Nevertheless, I think I understand what you are saying., but
honestly, I
just wouldn't do it that way. Anymore, my templates are just
one editable
region in the body, and a bunch of server-side includes. I
find nested
templates much too complex, and troublesome to work with, and
have really
never found a scenario where I could do things with them that
I could not do
more easily with other methods.

Is it only you working on the site? Who are you trying to
'lock down'? If
it's only you, I'd forget about this. Invariably the things
like this that
you think are a good idea come back later to bite you.

• Adding New Originator in Approval Template

Hi,
1. I initially created 5 users where when they create Sales Orders, they will have to go through the approval stage. The condition which was set is based on query. When I add additional users in the approval template to go thru this process, there's a message says 'No ratio has been defined'.
What could caused this?
2. After i add new users, do i have to reselect the query in able for them to go thru this approval process?
Appreciate your help.
Rgds,
Harith

Hi,
When you Select the "When the Following Applies" options you can view two windows below that option.
In first Window, You can view the "Choose", "Term", "Ratio", "Value" Columns. In "Choose" Column you will find Check Box. In "Terms" Column you find Condition terms (ie,. like Deviates from budget, Discount% etc). In "Ratio" column you find conditions like Greater Tha, Less than etc., In "Value" column you should give the value based on which the condition works.
When you Select the Checkbox then the corresponding Condition will be taken for Approval Procedure.
In Second Window, "Terms Based on User Queries" You will select the query you have generated for approval process.
If you are using Second Window you do not select any options in First window. You can view one of the option was selected after you have linked the query in second window.

• Odd Error with decode function in Order By Clause

I am trying to compile a procedure and can't get around an error with a dynamic order by that doesn't make much sense to me. I can repoduce the error with a plain select statment in sql plus so I can rule out a declaration error. Here is an example with 2 numeric columns and a date column.
select task_id, display_date, remark_id from task_list
where task_id > 1000
order by decode('Task_ID', 'Task_ID',Task_ID, 'Display_Date', Display_Date, 'Remark_ID',Remark_ID)
returns the error:
select task_id, display_date, remark_id from task_list
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got DATE
I'm not sure why this error is occuring, because it doesn't even hit the Display_Date field in the Decode statment. If I take the Display_date out of the statement, it runs properly. If I change Display_Date to To_Char(Display_Date) it also runs fine, but the sorting is incorrect. Also I'm running 9.2, and do not want to use dynamic sql to build my query. Any Ideas out there as to the cause of this error?

I did find a workaround to this issue by breaking the decode statment into three separate statement, but I still think that the way it is written above should work, and may be a bug, or an error that I don't understand fully.
The Order by was rewritten like this:
order by decode(pSort, 'Task_ID',Task_ID), decode(pSort, 'Display_Date', Display_Date),
decode(pSort, 'Remark_ID',Remark_ID);
Thanks

• Acrobat 9 Pro - Adding new fields in order

Hello all!!!
I am hoping everyone is doing well. I have a quick question for you all. I am creating a form that has a ton of text fields. I am trying to keep them in order (tab # wise). When I create a new text field, it just places it randomly in my list of other text fields.
i.e Last text field is numbered 150. I add a new text field (that should be 151) that gets numbered in the 50's.
It's frustrating and slowing me down having to find that field and then drag it all the way down to the bottom.
Anybody have any suggestions on how to set each text field to stay in order?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
When you create forms in Adobe Acrobat, they are stored in the "field navigation panel" so that you can access them quickly. You can change the order in which they appear either by following predetermined ordering schemes or by specifying your own. Creating a specified order is important because otherwise the document will create its own order for your fields, known as a "tabbing" order. The resultant tabbing order may not be the optimal for your document.
1. Start Acrobat
2. Open the PDF that contains the forms you would like to edit by clicking "File" > "Open."
3. Click the "Forms" menu entry located to the right of the "Comments" menu.
4. Click "Add or Edit Fields."
5. Click the "Sort" tab on the "Fields" dialog box that appears on the left side of the screen. Click the "Tab Order" entry.
6. Change the order of your fields by clicking either "Default Tab Order," "Order Tabs By Row," "Order Tabs By Column" or "Order Tabs Manually." Click "OK."
Regards,
Ravi
