Error code 143 on JVM exit

Hello,
I have a program (with multiple threads, running under MS-Windows) which works fine almost all the time.
In one case, it terminated unexpectedly, and the exit code (via ERRORLEVEL) is 143.
There are no other outputs in order to diagnose the problem.
I would like to know what the error code 143 exactly means.
Can anybody give me an advice?

I hope people there is reading old posts too. I have the same problem with code 143. JVM exits unexpectedly, but I believe it is specific block of code which acts differently. I`m trying solution with -Xrs switch, but I`m sure I have no JNI and there is no System.exit() in code at all. Also I know there is no external processes which asks JVM to close.
I have running special FIT tests in child-jvm as ANT task. The exiting is ANT task, not my FIT tests, but at the same time this is not happening on any other processes.
I can`t found any references about "Internal field must be valid". What does it mean? What and where to search for problem?

JVM Error Code 143

Hi there, I am running a Java Application as a service. The service halts, not regularly, just every now and then with no consistency. The event log says the JVM has exited with a code of 143. I tried to look up this error but could find very little on it. Does anyone know what causes this? Thanks in advance, Julie.

Distinct JVMs terminate simultaneously with error code 143

I am running 2 distinct java processes (started in 2 separate JVMs) on a win2k server using JRE 1.3.1_07. Both of these processe spend the majority of their time sleeping, but wake up every 10 minutes to do some work. The processes run for 23 hours and 50 minutes, then shut down and are restarted approximately 30 minutes later.
In each of these processes, I have a catch throwable in main intended to provide a stack trace in the event of a catastrophic error.
Occasionally (without any pattern that I can discern), these two processes suddenly die at exactly the same time. Neither provides a stack trace. The only thing I have to go on is that both JVMs exit with a return code of 143. The windows return code of 143 ("The system cannot join or substitute a drive to or for a directory on the same drive") makes absolutely no sense in the context of what these two processes do.
Sometimes these processes run the entire 23 hours and 50 minutes without a problem. Sometimes the problem occurs within the first 20 minutes. Sometimes it occurs after 20 hours. There is no pattern that I can find relating to when this occurs.
When I look at system monitoring on the box, there are no memory issues or overcommits of any kind occurring at the time the processes died.
Once, I had a third java process running (this process only runs once per day and lasts for about 5 minutes) and all three processes suddenly died with an error code of 143.
I have run these two processes on different boxes with the same intermittent bahavior.
Any help?

Are they accessing a network drive or the internet ?
Maybe the connection times out, or the network server shuts down every night to do a backup.
"Subst" is an old DOS program which mapped a directory to a virtual drive. It's usually used when you log into a network, to map shared directories to the same virtual drive eg X:, for everyone.
Although program return values aren't very reliable.
Error 143 could be a red herring from from the real problem.

Exit code 143 from JVM

Hello
We have an application that is spawned by a windows batch file. We are using JDK 1.5 update 10 on Windows 64 bit AMD platform.
While the program is running we see it abruptly exit with an exit code of 143. There are no exceptions - nothing at all.
What could be the possible causes for this?

When I see this it's because the JVM received CTRL_SHUTDOWN_EVENT, and exits with code 143; Obviously I see this when the system is shutting down. See this page:

I assume different events, such as CTRL_LOGOFF_EVENT will also terminate the JVM with an exit code, which might also be 143. However, when I use the Task Manager to kill the Java process, I get an exit code of 1.

Hi,
 i installed the sap nw 7.2 trial version succesfully and due to sapgui problem i downloaded a new sapgui 720 patches from the service place and installed and when installation ,i installed jre for the sapgui. after that when i start the sap server the jstart.exe is not started it is stopped. and showing the errror message

Eclipse failing to start - JVM Exit code 1

Apologies if this issue has already been posted.
I am seeing that my Eclipse IDE is crashing everytime I try to start it, with JVM exit code 1.
FYI, my version of java is:

We are doing an installation of SAP NW 7.01 SR1 on V6R1.
 
We were getting error in SAPAPPL2.TSK.bck we merged the files with following command:R3load --merge_only <TSK file> and refering sap note:Note 455195 - R3load: Use of TSK files.

No other services of database are up.And i am not able to up the other services also.
Is it required to up the other services?

Hello Manisha,
The one of the possible reasons for this is due to lack of H/W.
Increase your RAM size to atleast 2GB and utilise the same while you are installing ECC in database parameters step..
If the issue is with H/W, then this should fix the issue.

Not able to get the error code when the client ,server running in Diff JVM

My server code is running on websphere App server . My client is running on different JVM on my machine .
When I try to throw my own exception , I am not getting any data in the exception object.
I am setting error code and msg in the exception object.
But when i retrive from my client , it is returning the null.

Please run ipconfig /all command on this problematic computer, and then post the screenshot here.
In addition, update your network adapter, disable the firewall and anti-virus temporarily and then run these commands:

Possibly the password for user ISNET\SAPServiceDEC entered in phase

I am looking to your log find that it's trying to launch DISM from c:\windows\SysNative. You might try build a symbolic link from c:\windows\system32 (where DISM lives) to the non-existent path c:\windows\SysNative. Then check the issue again.
To build a symbolic link, try workaround as Brian's reply to this thread.

Dirsync Error Code - Exit code = 0 (0) - IMTA__NO, basic NO...

Hi,
I hit an aliases error so I thought by running dirsync -F will solve the problem but I hit the error:

Next I dumpdb of the aliases and found out that "[email protected]" does not exist in the aliases.db.
Very strange, only certain user details are missing from the aliases.db.
Anyway I suspect something is not quite right with dirsync.
My dir sync log shows:
WARNING: No USER_SPEC to create rewrite rule for hosted domain

Found the answer, the culprit was someone must have accidentally deleted dirsync.opt

Hi all!
How can I exit from director with specifyed error code by
using lingo or JavaScript syntax?
I want to catch its error code in batch file for example to
do something special.
Sample batch file I want to use:
myprojector.exe
if %ERRORLEVEL% == 10 goto GO_TO_SOMETHING_WRONG
But now, by default director quit with error code 0.

I don't know of any way to do that, but you could get the
projector to
create a (zero byte) file if there's an error and in the
batch file check
for the existence of that file. (Not forgetting to delete
that file, if it
exists, when the projector starts.)
