Error creating text item in portal

Hello forum, I am having an error creating a text item in portal. I'd like the item to be displayed directly on the page. However, the item is greater than 32K. This is the error in the log file: portal: [module=RepositoryServlet, ecid=83707100943,1] ERROR: Repository Gateway error: Request Processing Error: Value param too long. Length is 189640. Upper limit is 32512
Does anybody know of a work around this issue?

There's not a workaround, per se, for this. The 32K is a hard and fast (and very annoying) limit. Depending on the item and display you'd like to use, you could put it in a dynamic page and display it as a portlet, or split it up into different items.

Received the following error message when trying to create an item in a content area:
An unhandled exception has occurred, ORA-01403: no data found.
I checked in the Apache error_log file and the only messages I see relate to portal30.wwv_add_wizard.edititem and portal30.wwv_additem.additem (had to be described for execution).

IVew Error:Create IVIEW in a Portal for a SAP BW Query

Hi,
My requirment is to publish a BW Query to Portal.
When i tried to create a iver for a particular BW query in portal.....it is pulling every thing.
When i click to execute a query for which i created iview...a new window pops up and and displays queries according to roles
Please update me whats happening
Background:
BW Version : 7.0
Currently we are accessing a BW Reports/Queries using BEX WEB Analyzer.
We are using a Standard Web Templete in WAD.
When we create a New Query in BW Query designer and publish it a role folder(BW)-PFCG.
When i execute BEX WEB Analyzer through Explorer i can access query from the folder in the role to which i published.
I don't need to add each query to web templete when i publish the query to a pole folder in PFCG when i run the BEX WEB Analyzer the query will be in that role automaticall.
Now i am planning to publish queries in Portal
I created a role in Portal>Created a work set>assigned the workset to the role
I am trying to create a iview
Create a new iview> templete>Query string details
i assigned this iview to the role
When i try to access the query from the role i created. intsed of opening the query for which i created iview ...it is opening all the queries that i can access form BEX WEB Analyzer...
Please update whats happening

Error creating intermedia index in Portal

We are running Portal 3.0.6 on Solaris 3.8.
We are having trouble creating intermedia index. We get the "An unexpected error has occurred (WWS-32100)", when trying to create the index thru the UI.
We tried metalink's suggestion and executed inctxgrn.sql. The error Persists on the UI, when you click create index.

i'm using ORACLE 8.1.5 Standard edition
and i've tried to execute the following

I fixed the same proble today.
Set your client NLS_LANG to the same value as on your database. your database might run with "NLS_LANG=american_america.we8iso8859p1".
If you want to use german stopwords etc. lokk at the script "drdefd.sql". Replace all "DEFAULT_" settings with your keyword (e.g. "GERMAN_"). Run the script. Now you can create a index with german parameters:
create index a on b(c)
indextype is ctxsys.context
parameters ('lexer ctxsys.german_lexer stoplist ctxsys.german_stoplist wordlist ctxsys.german_wordlist')

I make "Actual news" region with text and simple image items.
With "Custom Search" autoquery I make news portlet with 10 latest news.
But I will make with PDK-Java discussion portlet, in which users can read and write about last published (last created text item display name and content) news.
My questions:
- How can I find text-item description and content in database?
- How I can sort text-items to find latest created in my region?
I have Portal R2

Cannot Add Large Text Item

All,
We are trying to add a text item into portal and we get an error when the size of the item is approximately more than 24k.
The error shown is err-30584 dbms_sql raised and unhandled
exception.
When the size of the text item is more than 32k then, we get an
http 404 - page cannot be found error while trying to save the item.
Is there any limit on the maximum size of the text items
in portal? The version we are using is,
Oracle Portal Version: 3.0.9.8.0
Any workarounds are appreciated if this is a known problem.

Hi Peter,
FAGLB03 transaction shows the balances ( not the lines ). Only with drill-down you go to the BSEG table and then you can add whatever field you want using a standard SAP functionality of ALV.

Error adding an item

Hi,
Receiving this error creating an item but can't see what is exactly missing - I have looked at the warehouse codes and accounting g/l determination codes and have set them all.
No expense account has been defined for the item [Items - Warehouse - Expense Account] , '01 -Test item' [Message 173-4]

There are over 100 threads with 173 error messages discussed before. However, none of them with the same sub error as -4.
If you are sure you have defined Items - Warehouse - Expense Account under G/L determination, this could be a bug.
What is your B1 version and PL?

Getting error when creating a RFQ in MM module" create rfq item overview"

Hi,
i am a beginer in SAP administration, users are getting this error message and i have done all my research and not able to resolve this issue.
This error i am getting when creating a RFQ in MM module and when trying to save the screen "create rfq item overview" then it gives me a pop up box message " SAP SYSTEM MANAGER: WORK PROCESS RESTARTED, SESSION TERMINATED".
Here are the details of teh system
SAP Version :ideas 4.7
Database :Oracle
OS : windows 2003
Module user is working on MM
user working on it is a Super user with all the permissions
SAP is configure to run under the European date and decimal format.
I have never done any database administration on it, it is a new install and has been rarely used.
User creates a RFQ and when he tries saving it , seems like for the first time after either restarting the macine or restarting the service it might work and at time it might not, this is a very sporadic error and most of the times it crashes out with the message "sap system manager:work process restarted, session terminated" and kicks the user out of the session.
Below are the details of the error message from ST22 :

Information on where termination occurred
The termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLCLSC" in "EXECUTE_SELECT".
The main program was "SAPMM06E ".

Hi Mudessir,
With the help of ABAP'er try the following.
1. open the program 'LCLSCF2G' from SE38.
2. Keep a break point at line no: 131.
There is 'END SELECT' statement which is getting failed at line no 131 in the program.
Try to analyse the SY-SUBRC at that point.
If your technical consultant can't solve this, write to SAP OSS (service.sap.com).
I have searched SAP OSS, there are other situations, but your case is not there. So write to SAP if technical consultant can't solve it by debugging the program.

I'm very often experiencing problems when editing a text item and moving it from one category to another. It won't do it. The editing page will stay the way it is and the only message I get is: Error 30694: Error in API - update item failed

Text Items And Push Buttons Created on a customized form does not appear.

I created a custom form and attached it to ebs. The form opens without any error.
I had 3 text items and 2 push buttons with proper property class applied to them. But I am only able to see the prompt of the first text item. All the other widgets are not visible. What could be the possible cause for this.

How are you running the form? Have you deployed it properly and attached it to a menu/form function and are viewing it within EBS?
Did you open the TEMPLATE.fmb form and save a copy of it as the starting point for your custom form?

"An Exchange Rate Does not Exist" error while creating an item

Pre-requisites: RMS is installed without base data
We are trying to create an item in RMS by filling the required information in "Item Maintenance window" and "Supplier details" screen. After this is done when we select the "Retail by Zone" link and the application prompts an error message : "An Exchange Rate Does not Exist", and all the values in "Retail by zone" screen are not populated. How do we ressolve this?

Also, make sure that if a currency has a rate entry for example, 01-jul-2010, then make sure that ALL other currencies have a rate entry for 01-jul-2010, even if the rate has not changed for other currencies - a little trick I learned from an Oracle consultant.

Attribute error while creating shopping cart in portal

Hi,
We are using SRM 7.0 . While creating shopping cart in portal , I am getting error " the attribute of the user are inconsistent or not defined. See transaction ppoma_bbp "
I have maintained attributes of ACS,BSA,BUK,BWA,CUR,KNT,WGR & WRK . Done attribute check in BBP_ATTR_CHECK, it issued warning message for CAT attribute. All other attributes are Ok.
Could anybody help to resolve this.

Step 1: Check the consistency of the User for Shopping Cart using Transaction BBP_CHECK_CONSISTENCY. THis will give you a snapshot of what is missing in user's attributes for creating a SC.
Step 2. Go to PPOMA_BBP and note down the Position id and CP id of the user. Then check the consistency of these objects using BBP_BP_OM_INTEGRATE.
It seems the combination of attributes is not in right place for this user

Error while creating an Item Proposal

Hello Experts,
When I am trying to create an Item proposal (T Code VA51 for order type PV) , after entering the Description , Validity dates, Material and Qty, while saving system is issuing an hard error " Sold to Party is not maintained in the sales area".
While creating an item proposal why would the system check for the Sold to party? I have checked the forum for such an error message but could not find any. Please help me in resolving this issue.

Thanks for your inputs. There is some additional enhancement in the system to check the sold to party during order processing in the program SAPMV45A. That is causing this error.
