Error FRM-40012 Form was created by a new version of Oracle Forms.

Hi,
I install my db, AS and Developer Suite in the same machine. When I run the forms by Developer, it keep complaining report server unaccessable. Someone told me to run it by AS. When I try, the error FRM-40012 prompts out. I check the version of Form is 10.2.1.0.2 and the Forms Services Version is 9.0.4.0.19 which is the only available version in Oracle web site.
Can anybody tell me how to do to solve the problem? Thanks.
Rgds

To say things a little clearer, don't develop with Forms 10 and deply on Forms 9. If you want to develop on Forms 9.0.4 & deploy on 9.0.4, that will work.
Also, 10gR1 (which includes Forms 9.0.4) is going to be desupported at the end of this year. 10.1.2.0.2 is a good place to be right now.
So, the best answer is to keep developing in Forms 10 & get the Forms 10 in AS 10gR2 Forms & Reports Services which is available for download on OTN at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101202.html
Be sure to look for Forms & Reports Services Standalone. It is a one disk download for most platforms.

  • FRM-40012: Form was created by a new version of Form Builder.

I am using Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2), which is the newest DS download. But this is on an Application Server version 10g (9.0.4.1). So The following message is received when the server tries to run a .fmx file compiled using Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2.
FRM-40012: Form was created by a new version of Form Builder.
Would I be able to download Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.0) and run .fmx files on AS 10g(9.0.4.1)? If so, how would I download DS 10g(10.1.2.0.0), it is listed on the DS download page but unlike the other DS downloads there is no link to download the DS.
    Thanks,

    Michelle,
Forms 10.1.2.0.0. should be executed on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 and Forms 9.0.4 should be run on Oracle As 10g (9.0.4). There are hanges in teh required source files between the twoversions, causing the error you see.

  • FRM-40011 Form was created by an older version of form

    Hi all,
I got the message "FRM-40011 Form was created
by an older version of form builder" when I created a
form using form6i without the patch and ran it on 9iAS
Rrelease 2. So I applied patch 10 and compiled the
form and ran it again. But I still get the same error.
    What am I missing?
Our 9iAs is on Win 2000 SP2(if it matters).
    Thanks in advance
    Yuga.

    Hi,
if this problem occurs on teh Web, then the message normally is "Forms client" too old, which points to that the f60all.jar files used are not compatible with the patch version of the Forms Services. To fix this you would have to replavce f60all.jar with the version of the patch installed on teh server. Also clear the Jinitiator cache directory on the client (which must not be necessary).
Normally here is no difference between a Forms6i file created with the base release vs. one create with a patch set. So the problem must be in the configuration of your environmnet and my bet would be as mentioned above.

  • I have the following error The file "iTunes library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes

Can anyone help me with this problem.  I tried updating the latest itunes and it caused an error MSVCR80.dll missing.  I then tried fixing it after reading other people had the same problem and a solution was given about uninstaling itunes and the order in which to do that.  I did that but now get the error "the  files "itunes library.itl" cannot be read because it was created with a newer version of itunes.  I see a solution has been given about this but I cannot find what is suggested to enable me to follow instructions.  Can anyone please go through step by step (letting  me know where I can find what is needed) to enable me to be able tio log into itues again.  Thanks

    Hi pussygalore,
If you are having issues with iTunes after an attempted update, you may find the following article helpful:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
You may want to make sure that in the last step (reinstalling iTunes) that you are installing the latest/newest available version, and not attempting a reinstall from an older file.

  • TS1424 I can't open iTunes. Get error message "the file iTunes library.itl cannot be opened because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"

I cannot open itunes.  Getting error message: "the file iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"
What do I need to do so I dont lose all my loaded music, etc.?
    Thanks

If you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.

  • I get the error message itunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes

    Hi,
I had my pc reformatted and win 7 64 bit installed. As I have come to put everything back on the pc I accidently installed the 32 bit version of iTunes. I realised this when certain functionality wasn't working.
So I uninstalled itunes and all the associated software, bonjour etc etc and have d/l the 64 bit version.
Now when I try to start up iTunes I get the "itunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes" error message and the application will not load.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Dave

zepel has it, but perhaps some more detail will help.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Problems installing and starting on Windows 7 64bit. error message - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

Hi I'm having problems installing and starting itunes program on Windows 7 64bit. After install the following error message is flagged - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would really appreciate any pointers!

Never mind sorted it out lol. Somebody did a system restore of a week or so. I had done the update during that time and it was lost. Just redownloaded itunes from the internet and its working fine now.

  • I'm getting this error message- "*iTunes Library.itl* cannot be read beacuse it was created by a newer version of itunes."

I have my iTunes on a Windows XP operating system. My iTunes Library is stored on a external hard drive(H) with a desktop shortcut on the C drive pointing to the H drive where the iTunes LIbrary is located. I have it set up so that when I click the iTunes desktop shortcut it routes to the H drive and retrieves my iTunes Library from there. I've had a hard drive crash before and lost all of my iTunes Library.
So, if all of that makes any sense, I got a new desktop computer with Windows 7 Operating System and went online and downloaded the most recent iTunes softwear. I then attached the external hard drive from my old Windows XP system to the new Windows 7 Sytem. I routed it the same way I had it on the old system, but i keep getting this error message- "The file *iTunes Library.itl* cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." To make matters worse, I tried to put the external hard drive back on my initial Windows XP Sytem and now its giving me the same error message. I know its alot to digest, but can anybody help me?????

For general library squiffiness following an upgrade or crash the easiest thing is to restore your last backup, but I guess if it were that simple you wouldn't be here.

PS There is also a new iTunes build to download today, so might be worth getting that. A new iTunes should always load an older library file.

  • After installing iTunes 10.3.1 it won't open, error message - "the file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"

new iTunes won't open. Error says cant read iTunes Library.itl becuase it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
I had just installed iTunes 10.3.1 as was instructed by the Genius at the store.

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes.  You make it sound like it was sent to you.  At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it.  However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible.  iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer.  So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message.  One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version.  Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers.  The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

  • Error message the file "itunes.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

I had to do a system recovery with a prior date.  now I get an error message: the file "iTunes.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.  Anyone have a solution?

I know this is an old thread, but the information in it solved my current problem (Windows Vista, upgraded to iTunes 11.2 and resulted in this same .itl error message).
So, I'm here to thank turingtest2 for his excellent instructions to fix my problem. One of tt2's many detailed instructional tips). THANK YOU TURINGTEST2!
PS I'm generally reluctant to "mess with files and such, preferring to use Windows Restore, because it just doesn't seem right to me that end users of Apple devices should have to get into the guts of files and such. Sadly, I have finally just accepted that iOS updates never work right and I either have to deal with work-around fixes or never update. Eventually we do need to update or there will be other problems. All I can say is, I'm sure glad there are folks like turingtest2 here who spend so much time helping us.
