Error in QA when trying to generate any report (including vanilla ones)

Hi,
We recently did a QA Refresh and I wanted to get BI Publisher working again in QA.
Unfortunately at the moment we get the following error. This is from the Object Manager log with logging set to 4.

I went on the Report Server whilst running a report; we are not getting that far since - when you run a report you can see it being generated on the server
I've tried checking the settings for both inbound and outbound webservices and they seem to be OK.
Tried checking the BI UserName and Password and they seem OK.
Can login to the BI Publisher console.
I have all the XMLP roles..
Interestingly if I use a Siebel 'Thick' Client then I can run the report OK.
Any ideas?

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
This problem was solved in SP1 if you are still having this problem after applying SP1, then you need to contact CSS directly for support, they will work with you to solve this problem.

I had the exact same problem. Worked fine for a couple days then suddenly getting this error. I fixed it, however.
Do this:
Open the App Store app on your phone.
Go to the "Featured" section.
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on your Apple ID.
Screen pops up. Choose "Sign out".
Scroll to the bottom of the "Featured" section again.
Sign back in.
Try your download again.
This worked for me. Good luck!

As per the SAP NOTE we did FP 2.6 Unicode Transports and then SP3 transports. Transports are imported with min Errors.
Now *when am trying to generate a report using BEX Quesry in Crystal Reoprts* am getting error

This is not really the correct forum to be posting Reports issues. However, if I were to guess, your issue is likely related to the known issues related to installing FMw11R1 on machines which had IPv6 enabled. In most cases, disabling IPv6 would correct the problem, however some issues were not resolved even after disabling IPv6 post-install. I would recommend patching to WLS 10.3.6 and FMw 11.1.1.6 as these versions include fixes for all of those issues as far as I recall.

Error when trying to generate any of the 6 DPM reports

When I try to generate a report I get the following error ( Defers a bit between the reports)
This one was when I tried to get Tape Management report
An error has occurred during report processing.
(rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'.
(rsErrorExecutingCommand)
Invalid object name
'vw_DPM_Media'.

I was doing a side-by-side comparison of the new and old server (we backed up the server before the reformat) and I can see that, evidently, CR XI was installed. We have the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0 and all the versions match what is located in the project's bin directory. Does this confirm that I did have XI installed and licensed at one time?
If I purchase a more recent version, couldn't I update the reports to use the newer version? I have all the source code.
Thanks for your help, it is a nice sanity check for me after hours of reading forums and documentation.
Also, just a shot in the dark, but I'm assuming it wouldn't do me any good to simply restore the aforementioned folder to my C drive? Would that work if I registered all the dll's?

To be clear, I do have VS 2003 & 2005, and I have the source code. I just have never used Crystal Reports in any of my .NET apps because the need wasn't there, so recompiling is not out of the question.

Also, I looked at the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll that was in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\Managed folder and when I right-click and view the properties, then the Version tab, in addition to the 11.0.9500.2 version number, there is a property called Product Version that has the value .NET. Does that mean that this dll was bundled with Visual Studio?
I also found this directory on the old server...does this tell you anything?

I did see that you can still buy XI from CDW. I have a call into them currently to check with Business Objects for any registrations from my company.

Error code 0x80070043 when trying to access any share (hidden or otherwise) on Server2k3 R2 box

Background -
We have a seperate VLAN with a few servers with very locked down security (PCI compliance for credit card processing).
I recently tried to update the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator on the server in that VLAN which manages the few machines in that VLAN. The upgrade failed and broke the database, so I opted to uninstall and do a fresh install of the new version, rather than mess
with trying to recover from a backup.
Unfortunately, the new install is unable to push agent installs due to not being able to access the admin$ shares on the target machines (according to McAfee support). Through trial and error, I have determined a few puzzling things:
1) No client shares are remotely accessible from the main server (or other clients), regardless of permissions. This includes admin$, c$ and a test share I created. I have verified all the shares exist and that the appropriate user has admin rights (although
I don't even get prompted for credentials, so I don't think it is a permissions issue).
2) The issue exists for machines running Server 2003 R2 sp2 and Server 2008 R2 sp1. The issue does NOT exist for the single Windows XP machine in that VLAN.
3) DNS and networking works fine - I can ping each machine from any other machine using the IP, FQDN or NetBIOS name.
4) Firewalls are disabled, so I don't think it is a port issue.
I've spent hours trying to search for a solution, but nothing I've found seems to apply to my situation.

Can you install manually the mcafee framework on the machine you want to deploy it (you can even push it in a login script) ? To have the agent installed and later on to have the policy make the mcafee shield to install..
Search your mcafee server for the framework, I know it exist a folder with it. I just don't have it by hand.

BlueScreen error intelppm.sys when trying to generate a custom.wim with WDS

I have 20 Toshiba Portege R700 and when I try to generate a custom wim file with all my apps, the system crash and a wonderfull blue screen appears with error at intelppm.sys. The capture of the image starts but never ends, and crashes not always at the same porcentage. The BIOS and the drivers are updated. Can someone help me?

XML error when trying to run any report with add/remove programs - worked briefly after SP1 upgrade - no longer works

I applied SP1 in hopes of fixing the reporting bug as discussed
here and it did work - for a day or so. Now, I am getting the error again. Not sure what to do. Please advise.
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
There is an error in XML document (1, 301094).
'', hexadecimal value 0x1E, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 301094.
I also get the "report builder click-once application does not exist on the server" - to which I had applied the registry key

SQL
and SCCM are on the same server - which I can get to report server web but cannot create reports from SCCM console.

Deski3.1 crashes when trying to open any report

Hi,
We have recently installed BoXI3.1 and have migrated couple of our reports from BO6.5 prod env to BOXI3.1 dev environment.One of the users is facing a software issue while retrieving a document from the Public folders.When the user clicks on the report in deski 3.1 and then retrieves it a message is displayed stating Import is successful but later rather than the document being opened it throws an error stating that "BusinessObjects has encountered a problem and sorry for any inconvenience caused to you" and it automatically closes.
Pls let me know if anyone has faced this kind of issue and what steps should i undertake to solve it and provide some reasoning to the user.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated..

For the past 12 hours I have been getting a message, 'an error has occurred' when trying to update any existing apps or downloading any new apps. Anybody experiencing the same thing or know what I can do?

I keep getting 'error lander' when trying to access any website

I isolated and deleted a trojan horse virus, but ever since then, when trying to access any website, the tab shows 'error lander' and goes no further. I partitioned my hard drive years ago and can access Firefox/Mozilla on the second partition, but cannot do so on my primary partition, which is where all my data is stored. Help!

Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Right. If you are using delegated privs and sudo, make sure that sudo is configured to pass on the PERL5LIB and ORACLE_HOME environment variables at least.
