Error in Split-Join when invoke similliar B.Service with same namespace

Hi Guys,
I having a split-join that doing parallel spliting call out to business service. And i encounter this error.
Severity and Description Path Resource Location Creation Time Id
Error compiling the Schema Type System: error: sch-props-correct.2: Duplicate global type: GetabcParam@http://www.xx.xx.abc (Original global type found in file: null) SplitJoin.flow line 1 1265267604208 5245
Can I know is this a limitation of the OSB or is a Bug? Or there is a more better way to implement this?
Edited by: kpchong on Feb 4, 2010 7:51 AM

I'm not sure if this is a known limitation or a bug. I faced this issue once, but needed quick fix so I didn't contact Oracle support at all.
I remember that the problem emerged in case I had a SplitJoin with Parallel action and both branches used WSDL-based business services whose WSDL files imported the same (shared) XSD file. As I wrote before I needed quick fix, so I ended with re-adjusted namespaces just to overcome this issue. Ugly but effective.

• Propagating Error from Split join to Calling Proxy Service

Hi All,
In our project we are calling a split join service, from a Proxy Service, which in turn calls another Proxy Service.
i.e:
Proxy Service1 (PS1) <-> SplitJoin Service (SjS) <-> Proxy Service2 (PS2)
Requirement:
All the service calls are two way service calls and local protocol is being used. When an error occurs in PS2 we need to propagate the error with detailed error details to the PS1 via the SjS in order to achieve the following
1. Achieving rollback of the Transaction
2. Logging the detailed error report of PS2 in PS1
Issue:
But we are not getting the detailed error in the PS1. On further analysis we found dat the fault variable in the split join is empty in its error handling flow.
We have used reply with error activity in PS2 to propagate the fault to the split join and reply with soap fault option in split join to propagate the fault to the PS1.
We need to propagate the detailed report as error only, in order to achieve the rollback. So kindly suggest me the ways to get the detailed error report in PS1? i.e: getting the detailed error report of PS2 in split join fault variable and propagating the same to PS1.
Regards,
Balaji R

Balaji,
Try to enable Execution and Message(Terse Level) Tracing for the OSB services to see where fault message is going
and
In PS2 try with Reply with Success.
as Reply with failure returns the fault variable back and Reply with success will send the content of (PS2)$body back as a response and then u can capture the fault from faulted body and send it to PS1.

• Internal Server Error (NullPointerException) when invoking a Web Service

I'm using SOA suite 10.1.3.3 (incl the latest patch set) on Windows XP.
I've created 3 web services using the wizard interface out of 3 existing WSDL files. The Java code inside the web services is just dummy code.
I'm testing the web services using the Test Web Service functionality in Oracle Enterprise Manager's Application Server Control.
The moment I fill in the data and press invoke, I get back the following fault:
<env:Body>
<env:Fault>
<faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring>Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handling request: java.lang.NullPointerException)</faultstring>
</env:Fault>
</env:Body>
I know that control never reaches inside the services themselves.
I've even followed the online demo that shows users how to create, deploy and test a Web Service in JDeveloper to make sure that I wasn't doing anything silly.
What could be wrong? Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I've set up and tested a web service that will execute a command on a host. I then built a BPEL process that invokes this web service as a Partner Link. However, I always received the following error when running the BPEL process:

Has anybody seen this error message? Any suggestions for finding out what's going on here?
Thanks

This is a standard HTTP error code, I am not sure what it means exactly, but maybe a network specialist can make sense of it.
http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html
10.3.2 301 Moved Permanently
The requested resource has been assigned a new permanent URI and any future references to this resource SHOULD use one of the returned URIs. Clients with link editing capabilities ought to automatically re-link references to the Request-URI to one or more of the new references returned by the server, where possible. This response is cacheable unless indicated otherwise.
The new permanent URI SHOULD be given by the Location field in the response. Unless the request method was HEAD, the entity of the response SHOULD contain a short hypertext note with a hyperlink to the new URI(s).
If the 301 status code is received in response to a request other than GET or HEAD, the user agent MUST NOT automatically redirect the request unless it can be confirmed by the user, since this might change the conditions under which the request was issued.
Note: When automatically redirecting a POST request after
receiving a 301 status code, some existing HTTP/1.0 user agents
will erroneously change it into a GET request.

• Exception obtained when invoking a web service generated with JDeveloper

Hello,
I tried to create a synchronous BPEL process that invokes synchronously a Java Web Service created with the JDeveloper. The web service is wrapped around a regular Java class. The new created BPEL process is successfully compiled and deployed on the server. But when I try to initiate a test instance of the process in the BPEL console, after I fill the input parameter for then process and push the "Post XML Message" button, I obtain the following error:
Your test request generated the following exception/fault:
BPEL Fault: {http://oracle.com/cde/util/Top300DAO.wsdl}org.apache.wsif.soap.fault{org.apache.wsif.soap.fault.object=java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect}
I looked at flow and it throws the exception when it tries to invokes the web service generated with JDeveloper.
Do you have any hints, ideas? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
I want to also say that the proxy settings for the BPEL server and designer are filled. I think that they are ok because I succeeded to start an instance of another process that calls synchronously an external Web Service.
Regards,
Marinel

My guess is that this is caused by the WSDL of your service having an invalid service address. Can you please take a look at the WSDL of your service make sure that the location of the address is valid? (we have seen a couple of instances in the past where the generated url did not have the right port information).
Update that WSDL, restart the BPEL server or from the BPEL console clear the WSDL cache and re-initiate your flow.
Best,
Edwin

• Unexpected element name: expected WHEN INVOKING A WEB SERVICE

Can someone tell what am I doing wrong. As it looks like I have to pass all the parameters for the method that is published but what if some are missing basically I want to keep all the parameters optional. How can I make the service to return the same what is passed when invoked. Any help is appreciated. I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.

To make the service return "whatever is passed", you have to take a step back and realize that there is a little understanding of XML Schema required.
When using a complexType, which is defined as a sequence, then you are implying an ordered sequence of elements. Default value for the 'minOccurs' attribute is 1. It's also important to understand that there is a difference between minOccurs=0 and nillable="true".
nillable="true" just means that the name element can carry a null value. If you want the name element to be optional, then you must use the minOccurs=0 and keep the maxOccurs to it's default value of 1. Using an array is just a bad work around. This is for deserialization (XML to JAVA).
The second part of you problem is on the serialization (or JAVA to XML). When you have a JAVA Bean, there is no way to make the difference between a member's value being null or not set, so it's impossible to decide if you need to send back a nul (xsi:nil="true"), an empty element <ns1:name/> or nothing.
That said, if you do want to go the XML route, you can use the dataBinding="false" flag in the different WSA command. Instead of converting XML into JAVA, you will have SOAPElement parameters, where you can do all you want (see WS user's guide [1] for details - chapter 16). Note that you have to make sure that the WSDL (your contract) reflect what you are doing on the wire (format of your messages), so that you do not geopardize your interoperability with other toolkit.
Note that this only applies to literal message formats (use attribute in WSDL), which is your case.
Hope this helps,
Eric

• Encountered problem when invoking a Tuxedo service

Good day.
I'm currently encountering a problem when trying to invoke a Tuxedo service from a JCS. The error is a LIBTUX_CAT:488 : ERROR: Invalid data pointer given to tpreturn(). The returned error message to the WLS console was "tpcall invocation failed[null]."
It was previously working until I added a few more lines of code that invoked a database.
Both the JCS and the JCX used to invoke the Tuxedo service are in a Web Service project, stored separately in different folders though.
Could anyone help please? I haven't found any solution to this problem yet.
Thank you.

Umm.. I already problem. Sorry for bothering everyone.
I was simply passing a value that was longer than the set buffer in the Tuxedo service.
Could someone please close topic? Thank you.

Web services are SSL.
The WSDL is at https location and needs username/password for access. The username/password to access WSDL are set using UTL_DBWS.SET_PROPERTY
To access the SSL site, I have imported the CA in Oracle Wallet, JVM home and JDK home.
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here. I am not able to even establish connection to web service host.
This is very frustrating - Oracle has no examples on how to access a SSL Web Service (that needs authentication) from Database.
This is effecting our project deadlines ......... any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I presume your Web Service needs HTTP (BASIC?) Authentication.
All this needs is setting the following 2 properties, which as can be seen, you are setting....
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'USERNAME', '<username>');
UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'PASSWORD', '<pwd>');
This should work as long as your DBWS Callout Utility was downloaded from OTN after June 2008, and it's version is atleast 10.1.3.1.
Following is a sample code snippet that was tested successfully for this :
Declare
l_service UTL_DBWS.service;
l_call UTL_DBWS.call;
l_result sys.XMLTYPE;
l_request sys.XMLTYPE;
BEGIN
l_service := UTL_DBWS.create_service(null);

Hi Kalyan,
Do it this way: In your code just give the space between ( & ( & lfa1 and also at the end ~lifnr )
select a~lifnr
a~name1
b~bukrs
m~erdat
into table i_lfa1
from ( ( lfa1 as a inner join lfb1 as b on a~lifnr eq b~lifnr ) " maintain a space bwteen ( and field
inner join lfm1 as m on a~lifnr eq m~lifnr ).
or
select a~lifnr
a~name1
b~bukrs
m~erdat
into table i_lfa1
from lfa1 as a inner join lfb1 as b
on a~lifnr eq b~lifnr
inner join lfm1 as m
on a~lifnr eq m~lifnr.

• Error Propogation from Split Join back to Caling Proxy Service

I am having this problem here where I am not able to access the fault occurred in SJ , in the proxy service from where SJ is invoked . Here is a brief description :
PS route action calls a SJ . SJ invokes a service and the invoked service throws exception back . I put a scope error handler in "SJ Invoke action" and able to catch the Fault thrown ,by invoked service , and store in a fault variable : say soapFaultVar .I am not doing anything else in SJ exception handler . Infact I don't know what to do .
soapFaultVar looks something like :
<ext:soapFault xmlns:ext="http://www.bea.com/bpel/extensions">
<soapenv:Fault xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<faultcode>soapenv:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring>111</faultstring>
<detail>
<ns2:claimSOAPFault xmlns:ns2="http://ws.claim.zurich.com">
<message>This functionality is currently not available for this order</message>
</ns2:claimSOAPFault>
</detail>
</soapenv:Fault>
</ext:soapFault>>
but when check the $fault in the Proxy service it looks like :
<con:fault xmlns:con="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
<con:errorCode>BEA-380001</con:errorCode>
<con:reason>
[{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server] 111 <ns2:claimSOAPFault xmlns:ns2="http://ws.claim.zurich.com" xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<message>This functionality is currently not available for this order</message>
</ns2:claimSOAPFault>
</con:reason>
<con:location>
<con:node>CallScoringEngine</con:node>
<con:path>response-pipeline</con:path>
</con:location>
</con:fault>
Seems although reason in second fault is the string concat of complete first Fault i.e Faultcode , Faultstring and detail . I need the original fault here not the modified one . What can I do here . Anything I could do in SJ Catch block ?? I want soapFaultVar to be in PS , but how to propagate it back to proxy Service ?? Do we have have any predefined variable in SJ (like fault in proxy service) which is returned to PS from SJ in case of error .
Reply action doesn't seem to work in SJ catch action . Any help greatly appreciated .

HI,
Can you please explaining how to do it?

• Error when invoking a Web Service

Hello,
I'm trying to create a simple HTTP >> XI >> WebService (SOAP) synchronous scenario. When I test the web service in a web browser (http post) on the XI server, it works well. However, when I test the XI scenario, I have a "500 Connection timed out" on the synchronous response.
On the runtime workbench, I have the following message : "SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 504 Gateway Time-out".
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance,
Michael.

1. Does your network have a proxy ? - if so, configure the proxy details in the SOAP adapter.
2. Does the WS expect any credentials? - if so configure the same in the adapter.

• UnmarshalException when invoking a mbean method with parameters

Hi there,
I'm working with two different applications. Each application is deployed on its own server into the same weblogic(8.1) domain.
Each time one of these application tries to invoke a method on a mbean deployed by the other application, i've got this strange error:
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments; nested exception is:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.foo.bar.MyClass:
This error could indicate that a component was deployed on a cluster member but not other members of that cluster. Make sure that any component deployed on a server that is part of a cluster is also deployed on all other members of that cluster
at weblogic.rjvm.BasicOutboundRequest.sendReceive(BasicOutboundRequest.java:108)
at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicRemoteRef.invoke(BasicRemoteRef.java:164)
at weblogic.management.internal.RemoteMBeanServerImpl_815_WLStub.invoke(Unknown Source)
Note that i didn't configure a cluster.
com.foo.bar.MyClass is the class of a parameter of the invoked method. Both applications have com.foo.bar.MyClass in their classpath.
When i invoke a method without parameter it works fine.
I use:
- weblogic 8.1
- spring 2.0.3
Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?
thanks in advance.

Hi again People,
I'm replying to my own post in order to inform you that I have
located the source of my NullPointerException. I started up OC4J
using the following command line:
java -Drmi.debug=true -Drmi.verbose=true -jar orion.jar
This caused OC4J to display a stack trace (in the server window)
showing what method was throwing the exception -- it was one of
mine.
So thanks anyway, and turn your attentions elsewhere.
Cheers,
Avi.
