Hi Christian
It seems that the par file  com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui has not been deployed properly.
As a workaround, kindly check the deployment by navigating to :
\usr\sap\<sid>\<instance-id>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.
com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd and \pcdContent
If you find any files with .err extension there, kindly remove the .err
extension and add .bak extension.
Then restart the J2EE engine.
Hope it will work !!

UWL connection is fine as  workflow is getting trigered and i can see work item in manager's inbox. I have created a  dedicated template system for UWL with Web AS as ECC host:port number and Web AS path as /sap/bc/bsp/sap.
And maintained other connector and ITS properties and all connection test successully passed.
As we have only one sever so while creating system using load balacing template, was not able to identify message server name which is to maintained in case load balancing system.
Please help me finding out where can be the issue.

When registering the system in UWL, specify a WebDynpro Launch System. That should resolve the issue.
WebDynpro Launch System -- create a system of type WAS and mention the WAS host name and WAS path.

  • Error in NW2004S / EP7 installation (AIX & Oracle)

    Hi,
I'm getting an error when installing EP7 / NW2004S on AIX 5.3, Oracle 10.2.0.2.... the installation is failing at step "Install software units" when it tries to deploy the online SDAs. The error in the log is:
Caught exception while checking the login credentials for SAP J2EE
Engine. Check whether the SAP J2EE Engine is up and running.
        com.sap.engine.deploy.manager.DeployManagerException: ERROR: Cannot
connect to Host: [<hostname>] with user name: [Administrator]
        Check your login information.
        Exception is:
        com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException:
Exception while trying to get InitialContext. [Root exception is
com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException:         Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext instance.]
        (message ID: com.sap.sdm.serverext.servertype.inqmy.extern.EngineApplOnlineDeployerImpl.checkLoginCredentials.DMEXC)
I've discovered that I also get this message when I try to log into Visual Administrator ("com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Cannot create new RemoteLoginContext instance"). However the SAPJ2EE engine is running, and the password is correct - I can log into the j2ee websites with it (http://<hostname>:50000/useradmin, http://<hostname>:50000/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo etc.).
I've looked up this error on SAP notes & SDN and tried the solutions suggested - checking the Administrator password is correct in the Secure Store and checking the Login Modules but with no success. SAP note 701654 says that the error suggests a connection problem rather than a password problem, but I can telnet to port 50004 from other servers so not sure what the issue is.
    Any suggestions gladly welcome!
    Many thanks & regards
    Jane

The problem might be (it appears to me), that the system itself is running but name resolution (DNS or /etc/hosts) is not working.
Can you ping your machine using the NAME?

    Hi All,
We're on EP 7, sp13. ever since we first installed ep7, we've been seeing errors on all the UWL iViews including the UWL administration iView (under System admin). Upon clicking the iView, i see "Portal Runtime error" and this is true for all users including admin users, i tried previewing the iViews from content admin but still got the same error msg.i retrieved the following from the logs via nwa:

  • Portal Runtime error in UWL

I am trying to access the UWL from Home -> Work -> UWL.
However, for non administrators, this gives a Portal Runtime error.

See the details for the exception ID in the log file.
I knw most probably this error is due to missing permissions, but i have set the permissions for the End User Content folder.
I have also tried assigning permissions for the entire Portal Content folder with End user permissions, however, this does not work.
    Any suggestions?
    This is verrrry urgent.

  • IE10 rendering error in UWL sub dialogs like connections status

    Hi,
I am using a custom framework and added the browser document mode iview with the sap-ie=EmulateIE8 parameter as described in various blogs. I also added this parameter to iviews where applicable but there are still rendering error messages in some UWL dialogs that are opened through the  UWL dialog itself e.g. the connection status window or the delegate window.
Where can I add the sap-ie parameter to have these dialogs also rendered without warning?
Thanks for any helpful hints in advance!
    Regards Stefan

    Hi Stefan
I hope you are well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums .
I'd like to re-emphasize the importance of what Donald mentioned above:
Have you tried setting IE to use compatibility mode?
Tools->Compatibility View settings - Add your Portal URL in the list
In addition to this there are some important points to highlight regarding the utilization of IE10.
Kindly see the below SAP Note Documentation (Compatability Section also Included).
SAP Note 1785100 - Internet Explorer 10 Release Notes
I would like you to review all the content available on SAP Note 1785100. As you can see in the Symptom section of the note, it also summarizes the Internet Explorer 10 limitations and system requirements that are known in some areas, including Web Dynpro and JAVA which is thetechnology used by the UWL iViews.
    - SAP Note: 1718465 - IE10 rendering issues with Web Dynpro Java
From researching previously reported scenarios similar to the one that you are experiencing it seems the activation of compatibility mode has been used as the resolution before. Another point of analysis is the browser window zoom and its current setting, is it set to 100%?
Kindly update me as per your findings.
    Kind Regards

  • Connection error in UWL

    Hi,
I am getting the below mentioned exception when trying I get into the UWL page. This exception is coming only for some of the users. The users having super admin role does not get this exception. I think this has got to do something with the permissions and so I have checked the permissions for the different systems and it is fine. Can you please suggest if there is something that needs to be done in the security zone or elsewhere.
Exception type:com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException Message:Tue Aug 01 09:47:44 GMT 2006 (Connector) :com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception:You are not authorized to logon to the target system (error code 1).
    Thanks
    Mukesh

    Hi Mukesh,
I Think you need to set the permitions for the different roles to the systems...
Go to System Administration -> Permisssions -> Portal Permissions -> look for the system -> And check the permissions.
    Hope this help!

  • Leave Approval Error via UWL

    Goodday,
I am getting an error clicking on the task in UWL for leave request approval. The leave request is available in the manager's UWL. However, when teh manager clicks the workitem, we get the following dump:-

However, when we tried the 'leave request: approval' iview, we are able to see teh request and approve it. The error is only approving via UWL. Any idea on this?

    Hi ,
please find the following solution .it will definitely work .
If you leave configuration is done.
There was an incorrect data in your system. To do these please follow following process.
    delete this request using
    PTARQ> Delete documents (RPTARQDBDEl)
Please read the report documentation before
deleting the request but it should be safe as it is
    a development system.
Please delete this with the above information or delete all
    the records for the approver.
After this,, there will be some incorrect workitem in approver inbox.
You need to clear that also by Tcode - SWWL.

When the employee creates a Travel request, an work item for the same is sent to the manager UWL as per the workflow. When we click open the workitem in UWL, it displays a blank screen.
