Error in UWL --Guided Procedure initiated by Webdynpro

Hi All,
I have initiated a guided procedure process from webdynpro for java code. This is creating a item in UWL inbox. When I am clicking on this item it is showing following error:
Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator
Same initated process can be opend from guided procedure runtime.
Please help.

Scenario : User have to log into GP runtime, When he clicks the first action it should display the adobe form. He has to fill the details and submit the form. This form is routed for Approver 1 for review. The first approver will log into portal,view it (UWL),approve it and sent for second approver.The same process happens with the second approver.After both approvals, a BAPI updates the data in the interactive form in R/3
All the process have to be done in Guided Procedures, then integrated with Portal at the end.
We have tried creating an Wdynpro Java app with online adobe form and executed successfuly in NWDS and also in Webdynpro content administrator.
issue:-
When we create a callable object(webdynpro app(gp interface CO)) in GP and test, we were unable to view the form.
Now our question is : what are we mising ?
Is it possible to integrate online interactive adobe form with guided procedures?
Is our approach to solve the scenario right?

we've a problem with webdynpro java calling a guided procedure.
We've defined an endpoint for our callable object, as you can see the test of the connection works fine:
In the configuration of our callable object we use the endpoint above:
And we can test the callable object: it works well, call the right BAPI and find the results.
But when the GP is called and this callable object try to call the BAPI in the background it doesn't work at all.

It seems that the GP could not connect to the SLD to call the JCO, but as said before, when we test the callable object, it calls the BAPI without any problem.
We tried to recreat either the JCO and the Endpoint but without success.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your answers.
Here are the things :
From the GP administration, the endpoint's test is working.
From the SLD, the JCO is working too.
From the Web Dynpro Content Administrator, the JCO's test is working too.
From the GP Desing Time, the callable object supposed to call the FM uses the right endpoint, and the test is working too, we retreive data from the backend.
From our app, calling the GP process that includes our callable object, we have errors pasted above...

Error while executing Guided Procedures Action

We are getting the following error when a user is trying to execute an Action in the Guided Procedures Process:
"Cannot complete Action: Activity could not be read".
What can be causing this?

This is more than likely due to an inconsistency of a GP object at database level. I suggest opening an OSS ticket as this would require detailed analysis.

UWL Guided Procedures and Substitution Rules functionality - how possible?

We are using Guided Procedures with Custom Web Dynpro objects and need to utilize user/role substitution that is easily enabled in other AdHoc tasks using 'Manage Substitution Rules. Unfortunately when creating and turning ON a substitution rule in the UWL all Guided Procedure Tasks are excluded and do not show up in the substituting person's UWL.
Does anyone have any ideas of how we can utilize Substitution Rules in UWL for all Guided Procedure tasks/steps?

The situation you're facing is the normal behavior from GP in relation with substitution feature of UWL.
Unfortunately GP doesn't support substitution as the other UWL connectors do.

How to export Guided procedure - Initiator to RFC as an export parameter

Hi All,
How do I capture the Initiator, Owner and Oversee of my Guided procedure and bind it as an output parameter of a Callable object?
I need to this information to be sent to RFC so that I can perform the dynamic agent determination and send the agent back to Guide procedure.

Based on the UI dialog for Export XML, it looks like you'll first want to set an XMLExportPreference to copy either optimized or formatted images, and then choose and image type. So,
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyFormattedImages = true;
or
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyOptimizedImages = true;
followed by
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.JPEG
or
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.PNG
This help page describes the difference between optimized and formatted images: InDesign Help | Exporting XML
That should get you started. You may need to play with some other options to get the output you want, but that's the idea.

This "error" is caused due to a wrong message severity.
As you can see in the Note, the error message should be logged as an info message rather than being logged as an error.
You can see also if a fix is provided to your release so that you can get rid of this message, if you want.

Using FLEX Visual Composer iViews in Guided Procedures and the UWL

Hello Experts,
I am trying to display a GP workitem and I am getting this error
"The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available."
I have a GP Process and it haves FLEX Visual Composer iView, it runs fine un the Runtime workbench from Guided procedures Role, but when I configure de GP UWL Connector and try to open a GP workitem with a VC FLEX iView i got the error "The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available." Guided procedures with webdynpro iView works fine.
I have a NW 7.0 SP10
Could you please help me undertand what configuration I am missing??

Guided Procedures Runtime showing internal process steps in UWL

We have created a Guided Procedures Workflow which is working fine most of the time. However, sometimes, Guided Procedures runtime behaviour is rather strangely, it 's showing internal process steps as clickable workitems in the UWL. Clicking on the workitem causes a Null Pointer Exception.
Example:
Let's say, the workflows is as follows:
- Execute Callable Object "start"
- Decision "myDecision"
- If Decsion returns true
- Then execute Callable Object "A"
- Ese execute Callable Object "B"
Normally "myDecision" wouldn't appear in the UWL. But sometimes, it is showing up there. When we click on it, there is the following exception. After a while, everything is normal again (no internal workitems, no exceptions). Does anyone know what is happing here and what can be done to prevent it?

You mean the entry in the UWL list? No, we don't modify this. It is exactly the title we have assigned to in the Guided Procedures Design time environment.
How else can a title be changed? And what kind of problems can occur?

How to use WebDynpro Applications in Guided Procedure?

Hello,
i want to use a WebDynpro application as a part of a guided procedure. Therefor i developed a simple WebDynpro application as described in the NetWeaver Developer Studio Help. The Application consists of only two views. The first view is to enter data, the second displays them. So far so good....
In the next step i wanted to integrate this application as a CallableObject for execution in my guided procedures process. The wizard asks in step 2 for the "Development component" and WebDynpro Application. But where do it get this information? Indifferently what path i enter, it only returns an error the the object is not available on the server.

The problem is, that you cant test the WebDynpro as a stand-alone application. What would be the best way to develop a WebDynpro Application for GP?
Is there a way to start with a 'normal' WebDynpro Application and convert this when finished in a "guided procedure ready WebDynpro for CE Application"?

i am trying to implement one simple work flow in the GP, where two steps are there:-
1>Create Request
2>Approve Request.
I haev created collable obect, Action, block and process. I have configure the UWL for the GP fo the 2nd step as approval. I am gettign the created Item respective to the GP in the UWL.
When i am trying to click the Subject from the Table in the UWL for approving the created request i am not gettign the respective page in place of that i am getting error message like- Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator.
If any one have solution or input for this please share the same.

 For bringing the task to UWL you need to create a GPconnector first.I think you have created that already,though your GP is coming on UWL.Now you need to modify the .xml for UWL.
To modify the .xml file go to system admin->system config->universal worklist & workflow->UWL administration->select GP connector->select UWL GP Config->click on download config.
download the .xml file and add your GP connector coding there.Below I am giving the modified .xml file.Please do the changes.

Error in Guided Procedures

Hi,
While creating action in Guided Procedure i am getting error.
i am using Sneak preview version 9.
the error is

Guided Procedure Administration: Error trying to stop process instance

Hi guys,
I habve a problem with the guided procedures. When I try to cancel a running process instance in the guided procedure administration, I get the error below.
Has someone an idea what the reason could be?

Interactive Form with Guided Procedure Error

Hi,
I have a guided procedure with a callable object defined to send an email with an attached interactive form. When I execute the guided procedure I keep getting the following error. I have setup the smtp setting under caf/eu/gp/model according to the Configuring GP for Interactive Forms guide.
The mail communication for client application id:0768334F5EF53307986C90435843D119 is not registered. Please contact Bounced Mails administrator:<>
Also note if I have a guided procedure just to send a email notification without an adobe interactive form it works fine.
We are using adobe 8.0 and netweaver 7.0 sp12.
Any help would be appricated.

Hi,
I also have a similar issue where i have to validate whether the user submitting the offline form is an user who has authorisation ( a table storing user credentails) .
Were you able to solve this issue of security in offline form.
Appreciate if you can throw some light.

Guided Procedures with UWL

Ciao SDN,
I am trying to configure Guided Procedures with UWL.
I followed the guide <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6b66d7ea-0c01-0010-14af-b3ee523210b5">How to..configure UWL with the GP engine</a>
But when a user starts a task via UWL obtains the message:
"Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator"
Someone can help?

I faced the same problem some time back, so I don't remember exactly, but let's see how we can solve this....
First of all I want you to have a look at this SAP Note, and do what's recommended in this:

Follow the steps given in Solution. Remember that the file that you need to download ie uwl_gp_config.TXT has to be renamed as uwl_gp_config.XML before uploading.
