Error installing Adobe Air Runtime - "Adobe AIR Installer" crashes (mac)

Hi!
My previous version of Adobe AIR was 4.0 and was working fine. However, a recent app needed a later version but I cannot seem to be able to install it. Every time I run the installer, it seems to work just fine, no error is reported. However, the AIR is not installed and crashes with following report:

Silent install Air Runtime and Air App with custom installer?

I want to use a custom installer that will perform some actions, and then silently install air runtime and an air application. The goal here is to be able to perform a customized install for an Air application (for a user that might not have Air installed) without confusing the user with multiple install screens. Can I use a custom installer to silently install Air (if the user doesn't have it installed) and the Air app? If so, are there any restrictions on the custom installer? If there are any examples of this, please provide the links.

Since you applied for the distribution from Adobe you should
have received a link to a page where you can download what they
call the "side-car" installer. It's basically an installation
system they are making available to developers that can be easily
configured to deliver a bundled runtime and application
installation for Mac and Windows.
Check your email again and see if you can't find a link in
there pointing you to a download page for the AIR runtime as well
as the aforementioned side-car installer. For those who don't know,

I have flash professional cc and I need air for desktop application with .exe or .air that should contain all swf's and captive air runtime in one Installer only . I don't want to install separate adobe air runtime .

I need Air for desktop application either in .exe or in .air with embedded captive runtime just like .apk . I don't want to install adobe air separate . everything should come in installer

AIR runtime and AIR applications built using Captive Runtime still need Admin Privilege to Install

I am working on a small project to install AIR application(native .exe & .dmg) with AIR runtime without needing the Administrator privilege so I used Captive runtime but the installation is still asking for admin privilege
I bundled AIR application with AIR runtime using Captive runtime from flash builder 4.6, then I packaged this into a .MSI using Advanced Installer. Now when I install it for a user without admin privilege it prompts me for Admin credentials.
Can you please tell me if
1. I need AIR distribution license to install AIR runtime without Admin privilege
2. Do I need a different installer
3. Am I missing any step here

If you're installing to a location where Windows requires elevated privileges, like Program Files, you'll need to have admin privileges to continue. Are you using an AIR based native installer or have you taken the application with the captive runtime and rolled this up in your own installer?
Here's a section from the Installation and deployment options in Adobe AIR 3 article that might help:
Installation privileges
When designing an installer, one has the option to choose from approaches that may or may not require administrative privilege. For example, a drag-and-drop install on Mac OS X requires no special privilege; users can always copy the application into their own application folders, for which they have the necessary permissions. On the other hand, if registry keys must be written to the machine-specific portion of the registry on Windows, installation of that application will require administrative privilege to do so.
The two installer formats directly supported by AIR, AIR files and native installers, have always required administrative privilege. This was a design decision made in part to simplify the implementation of the AIR installers: If administrative privilege is assumed to be available, implementation is possible if the registry can be written to, and so on. It was also selected because, in many enterprises, this is the desired behavior: administrators can use the privilege requirement to gate software installation.
All the same, there are scenarios where supporting installation without requiring administrative privileges is desirable, or even necessary. This can now be achieved using custom installers; you simply need to author an installer that operates correctly with only standard user privilege. In practice this can be easy to achieve; a simple install-by-copy to a writable location (that is, in the user's own folder) will suffice. Should you author a more complex installer, you should keep in mind that the addition of certain operations during the install process will in turn reintroduce the requirement for administrative privileges.

embedding the air runtime increases the size of your app, but gurantees users will not need to do anything else (like download and install the air runtime from the google android market) to use your app.

Where all are you using hibernate files?
As a workaround reset/restart all the instances and check if it works.
Also, clear the cache and tmp for weblogic server and give a try.

Our corporate proxy prevents downloading and installing Photoshop CC and makes the installer crash.

What IP's and ports the downloader/installer is connecting to so we can make changes to our firewall & proxy settings. Can't find them on Adobe site.
The installer crashes on every installation attempt and does leave an error report in win7 application log, but the error itself doesn't contain any useful information, just a reference to a .dll file.

Application installer crashes – Mac 10.6

Good morning,
I had a 1.5 version installed with a tablet. Upgrading to 2 only was possible with uninstalling and reinstalling with your apple script and the two lines in terminal (eula). Thanks for these hints.
But now, when I try to install TweetDeck, the application installer crashes. Nothing happens, the screen tells „TweetDeck“ but nothing else. So I quit and get a window with an unexpected ending.
I tried to open directly or to save at disk first, none of them worked.
I feel like climbing on a mountain and standing just a few steps before the top. Thanks for any help

Could you try dragging your old version of TweetDeck to the trash and attempting an install again? It might also be worth while to see if anything is written to your AIR installer log (even though you are crashing.) Details on finding the log can be found here. Finally, could you attach one of the crash logs stored in your user's directory (~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter)?

PS CS6 Extended Installation Crashes Mac

PS CS6 Extended crashes Mac Lion 10.7.4 half way through install. Not installing "Fonts Recomended" allows the install to proceed. But need to install fonts...

Error installing Salesforce Chatter via Adobe Air

I've been trying to install Salesforce Chatter on a users computer and keep receiving the error, "Sorry an error occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
I've tried to uninstall everything adobe, reboot, reinstall air and try again with the same results. I've tried putting the install file on a thumb drive and installing it from that with no luck. Any help, here is the install file;

We are having the same issue. I'm not an expert with Adobe Air, but it looks like there's an expired digital certificate or signature with the installation. I've moved the PC clock back a few weeks to January and have been able to get it to install. We have a support case open with SalesForce letting them know about this, but no response yet...

Hello,
Was there a fix to this problem? I've tried to install AIR
(first time) via BBC iplayer & Adobe site itself, on a Mac OS
10.4.11, and the installer hangs on the license agreement page (no
text displayed for the license itself, although the window is fine
otherwise).
Not sure if this is the same issue as Viewer07

Exit Code 7 error installing trial version of Adobe Captivate 5

I am getting an Exit Code 7 error when installing a trial version of Adobe Captivate 5 on an XP SP3 32bit laptop.
I have the install logs (i've tried installing a couple of times) but i can't see how to attach the files in this window.
Can you help me please?

There can be many possible reasons for this Error.
Could be a possibility Microsoft_v80_CRX .msi is not getting installed or due to Error 1612

Error Installing Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7: Installer Database is Corrupt

Error Message: The Installer Database is Corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service.
I bought a new laptop and would like to install Dreamweaver CS4 on it. It is already running fine on my desktop, being installed back in 1/2011. Both PCs are Windows 7 but the new laptop is Windows 7 Professional. I have downloaded the two install files ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.7z and ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.exe multiple ways and to multiple locatons on the laptop. I've run the .exe file multiple ways and extracted to several locations besides the default (c:\users\userid\Desktop\Adobe CS4). After the extract completes and it tries to run setup I get the same message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please Contact Adobe Customer Service" (which I did and they just gave me another download link I had already tried).
I even copied the folder with the extracted files done on my desktop (where the install had succeeded). And still got the same message when I ran setup.exe on the laptop. I tried running it with a "run as administrator" command prompt, double-clicking in Windows Explorer, start > run and the same thing happens. At least it doesn't appear that it has actually installed anything yet.
I did notice that my new PC has a program called "7-zip 9.20" installed which I do not remember installing and its install date is prior to my purchase of the PC so I'm guessing it came with it (HP Pavilion 15t running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The Windows 7 Desktop does not have this program installed. It is available from C|net where it has a good rating. Perhaps setup.exe does further extracting and the 7-zip program is the culprit? This is a long shot.
I searched for others with this problem and found lots of issues installing Dw CS4, but none quite like this.

Awesome! That worked! Actually I searched three folders (Program Files, Program Files (x86) & Program Data) for caps.db and found:
c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premier Elements\caps.db (dated 9/2/2011)
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Backup\caps.db
I ignored the first one since it might be needed by the Premier Elements 10 I installed yesterday and changed the name of the other one from caps.db to barb.fix.
I changed the install folder from c:\Program Files\Adobe to c:\Program Files (x86) just in case CS4 is a 32-bit application which I had done before when installing on my Windows7 Desktop. Now that the install has completed I see that I have caps.db files dated 5/5/2014 in
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\caps.db (barb.fix is still there but is only 26kb vs 3291 kb for the new caps.db)

Adobe creative cloud apps installation crashes Mac Pro

My computer crashes after I click on an CS6 to install within Adobe Application Manager, using Adobe's Creative Cloud Subscriptio Service.
I am running:

I don't see Adobe listed in the report so I'm wondering if the problem is inherently a Mac Problem.

Problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI after installation on Mac

I just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro XI on my Mac. My Mac has the correct version of OS and Safari yet I can not launch Adobe. When I launch it, an error box comes up and says a problem has been reported to Adobe. That's as far as it gets. Has anyone had this problem before?

Please try the following steps and let me know.
Delete all the files from following folders:
Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number when prompted and check.
