Error installing package on Linux using SDM.

Hello Everyone...
I am having an issue getting a package installed on RHEL using the SDM. The package I'm trying to install is BP SAP CRM 5.0 SP01. The error I'm getting is as follows (shortened for space and info reasons):
DeploymentActionException: The substitution of deployment parameter variables failed. The following variables could not be substituted because theyare not known by the SDM-Repository:com.sap.cm.shareTo fix this problem go to the SDM-Repository-View of the SDM GUIand define substitution values for these variables or correct thetype information. Please note these are not typos or gramatical errors. This is verbatim from the error message.
If I take a look at Deployment Parameter Substitutions ==> Public substitution variables, I do not see a com.sap.cm.share defined anywhere, but I have never had to define anything while installing this under Windows in the past with identical settings in the SDM GUI.
Is this just a simple matter of defining the variable, or could this be a permissions/config issue with Linux? If it does need defining, if anyone has any ideas what the variables should be would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Just an FYI, the answer to this was found over at Re: Troublshooting While Deploying CRM 5.0 BP on Enterprise Portal 7.0 A word of warning, the parameter variable needs to be listed as Com.sap.cm.share (just as it is listed in the post). I had been trying it as com.sap.cm.share, and it would not work when I tried to save it. Also, for those new to Linux, you need to use the / character, not the \ character as shown on the forum post if you are installing it under Linux.

Errors installing web service to use dreamweaver extension
Recently I download the dreamweaver extension for portal, but when I try to install it several errors are raised... in the installation guide the next message appear:
This installation for this feature is an easy 3 step procedure.
    1. Installing the Portal web service
    2. Configuring the web service to work with your portal (one time administrative process)
    3. Installing the PortalTemplates extension for Dreamweaver MX
well but when I try to run the 1 step everything goes wrong...
    in the guide say:
    # Transfer this file to the OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home directory of the OC4J
(please make sure that the OC4J is up and running)
    # Use the following command to install the web service
    java -jar admin.jar ormi://<oc4j_host>:<oc4j_ormi_port>

here it's where I have some questions,
    1. the ormi referers to the rmi ok (I think that), well then I go tho the iasconsole and search for the ports and is show:
    home RMI 3202
    OC4J_Portal RMI 3203
    OC4J_BI_Forms RMI 3204
    then I use the home-> port 3202
    java -jar admin.jar ormi://myhost.midtierinstall.com:3202

but the following messages appear :
Error: Unable to find java:ServerAdministrator : lookup error:javax.naming.AuthenticationException invalid username/passwod for default (ias_admin).... and the error continue... but the problem is that the password works when I use the enterprise manager in that midtier console...
I want to know if I'm doing something wrong or how I should use this command to install that web service

The ormi is the rmi port in the OC4J. This coold be found in oc4j_home/j2ee/home/config/rmi.xml file. The default port is 23791.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

The trick worked ... Now R can find gcc as the compiler. Many thanks!
I also found that the configuration file for package installation is Makeconf under /usr/lib/R/etc. It seems to me that people can modify that file to use the right compiler/compiler options.
Version of R distribution package: 2.15.2
    Version of AIX: 6

    Hey Eran,
I guess, you can find the solution to your problem here:
It works well on Ubuntu, but since the error on Ubuntu looks exactly the same as on Centos, I think it should work for you as well.
    Cheers,

It then includes a lot more create, etc. statements that failed.
I wonder if it is some kind of permissions issue?  I ended up running @apxremov.sql   and reinstalled apex 5 again after I couldn't get the package apps to work the first time but that didn't fix anything.  I have attached a text file that has all the code from the error message.
The database I installed to is an Oracle 12c Enterprise database.
It had Oracle Apex 4.2.6 installed on it with many packaged apps (not really using them, just trialing them till 5 came out).  I ran @apxremov.sql before installing Apex 5.
Any help or ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matthew Friend

    Matthew,
Looking at the error file, it appears that APEX is trying to "upgrade" an existing Data Reporter instance rather than do a fresh install. It's possible (I haven't checked the code) that apexremov.sql doesn't run the packaged applications through their deinstall process, and so their supporting objects may still be present within your schema. I'd suggest removing any objects (especially tables & packages) with a name like 'EBA_DP_%' from your parsing schema, and then trying the install again.
    Regards,

  • Error installing package from AUR. /usr/lib64 exists in filesystem

I installed the package zoneminder-xinetd 1.27.0-1 using the instruction on the wiki, the installation finished successfully. then I realized that the package was outdated, so I uninstalled it using "sudo pacman -R zoneminder-xinetd", manually edit the files .AURINFO and PKGBUILD to get the new version, compiled successfully using 'makepkg -s' but when I'm try to install it(sudo pacman -U zoneminder-xinetd-1.28.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz) I got this error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
    zoneminder-xinetd: /usr/lib64 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
I also tried to install this other package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zoneminder after removing some unwanted dependencies but i get the same error.

I suggest you inform the maintainers of those packages so that they may update the PKGBUILDs.
    Thanks for the quick answer.
I solved this issue by adding "-DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR=/lib" to the cmake in the PKGBUILD. The mantainer of the zoneminder package solved this already by adding "-DZM_PERL_SUBPREFIX=/lib/perl5 \".
    Also, I adopted the zoneminder-xinetd package .

  • Installing oracle on Linux using the SAP version of oracle software

    Hello All,
I am trying to install 32bit oracle software on Linux 32 bit os using the SAP version of Oracle Install Software downloaded from marketplace. I have downloaded the required exe and rar files and unpacked them on my PC. The unpacked folder is uploaded in bin mode to the respective server under a common mountpoint. In the folder i have 4 .SAR files with other label files etc.  I want to unarchive these .SAR files to get the runInstaller but running in to issues.
Here are the steps I tried:
    1. I copied the SAPCAR exe from exe directory and tried to unpack the 4 .SAR files but got permission error. All these 4 .SAR files are owned by ora<sid> user id. I tried to do all these under root user still it fails.
    ora<sid>@xxxyysapdbXX:/sapdata//Oracle32/51031674> SAPCAR -xvf OR110232.SAR
-bash: ./SAPCAR: cannot execute binary file
    what am i missing?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have a 32bit OS then you need to use the 32bit binaries of SAPCAR - yes.
    And:
Usually those SAR files are unpacked by the installation program sapinst, why do you unpack them manually?

Its also working in our case where we have used 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition. We installed 9iAS 1.0.2.0 on NT. So if you have any issues regarding this then let me know.

I do not understand your question.
the version of the apache server can be listed with httpd -vthe location of the apache server can be listed with which httpdthe rpm package which contains the httpd executable can be listed with rpm -qf `which httpd`

  • Explicitly installed packages

How do I list what packages I have that are explicitly installed not as dependencies for other packages?
pacman -Qe doesn't help since it only lists ones that where installed as dependencies.

Afaik, pacman -Qe never listed all explictly installed packages.
It used to list orphans, ie package not required by any others.
Then, in pacman 2.9 (I just checked :d), it was restricted to explictly installed packages. I'm not sure why.
But it never displayed all explicitly installed packages, the e wasn't for explicit.
In pacman 3, it now lists packages not required by any others, that were _not_ installed explicitly,
which is much more interesting imo, since it's packages that are generally safe to remove.
