I am getting the following errors while installing the NWDS Sneak Preview SP11 on Windows XP.

hi Parista,
i ran a check on your error and i seem to have found a SAP note talking about it. Note 682069
(if my previous post didn't help u much)try this, your error seems to be a windows error message.

You might try to change your regional and language setting to German or US. Otherwise, downgrade your jdk to 1.4.2_08.

Sneak preview sp11 java edition install hangs

I posted this in the NetWeaver forum originally but now realize this might be a more appropriate forum.
I am trying to install the sneak preview sp11 java edition to a brand new box. The installation hangs on the "Load Java Database Content" step. The last thing in the jload.log is:

It's been running for 24 hours now and has not moved off that step. The java.exe process is using 50% cpu so it apparently thinks it's doing something. I've seen the posts regarding errors with the install and the Timezone change fix, but I'm already in a timezone that has DST.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem. I tried reinstalling a couple of times, but the same thing happened - the installation was just hanging and using 100% cpu time.
As the installation had not been tested with JDK 5.0 I had installed the newest version of 1.4.2, namely 1.4.2_10.
Then, just for kicks, I uninstalled 1.4.2_10 and installed 1.4.2_08 - 40 minutes later I got the "Successful install" screen.
I hope this helps.
ps: it should be noted that I installed on a freshly installed Windows XP (and later on a freshly installed Windows 2003 Server - also without problems) with German regional settings, just to make sure - I have later reverted the regional settings to my locale.

But the problem is that the "SAP Connection Wizard" does not progress any further after providing the R/3 system details(like hostname, sys number, client) and username/pasword. When I click the "Next Button" after providing the correct connection parameters it just stays there.
-->Would the license be a problem. I did not apply for the 90 day license yet, I wanted to do that once everything is working fine.
--> Should I do any additional configuration on the R/3 side.
--> Should I add any extra setting to the environment variable path.
Your help will be greatly apprecaited!!!

Error Installing Sneak NW2004s Step 17

Hi all,
I tried to install Sneak Preview NW2004s on my system.
Formely I had installed SneakPreview 2004 Java and uninstalled this with removing all old stuff from the directories and registry.
The new installation has an error in step 17 Import ABAP.
Who can help?

I had a problem in the ABAP Load, but not "permision denied". I believe the cause was that I had installed Java SDK 1.4.2_09 and after I rebooted it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to 1.5. Without thinking, I said yes. After I hit the ABAP Load error I uninstalled NSP and Java SDK. I manually deleted a bunch of files that weren't killed by the uninstall. The second time the installation worked. I had done three things differently: I installed SAPGUI first. I downloaded SDK 1.4.2_10 and didn't upgrade it. I used the 680mb value in the instructions for the I/O Buffer cache instead of the default of 100mb.
If you want to run SGEN, to compile all the delivered ABAP, you will need to enter at least 12000 for the Data volume size. I have two Volumes of 9000 each.

According to the specifications given You Cannot.
But, there is something strange, I could install sneak preview on Windows XP Home. So, you will be able to install. If you are struck at any point, just update this thread I can help you out.
Make sure you are using JSDK version 1.4.09 or greater

sneak preview java you are pointing is J2EE server , i think

CAF and NW04 Sneak Preview SP11

Is CAF now supplied as part of NW04 Sneak Preview SP11?
If not how do I go about getting it and what other components of NW04 do I need in order to make it work?

i think this is not quiet the correct forum for that question, but never mind.
Yes, CAF is available with NW04 sneak. You'll find the admin page at http://yourserver:yourport/caf.
In NW Developer Studio there is a new project wizard option for creating a composite apps.
If you'll make a search here on SDN, you'll quickly find tutorials and stuff on creating comp. apps.
Unfortunately, I think it's a bit buggy. At least at SP11.

Error while installing Sneak preview Netweaver 2004 --SP11

Hi friends, I am getting the following error while installing the sneak preview Netweaver 2004 on stack 11.It's going smoothly until 14th task and after that the 15th task 'Load java database connectivity ' the system got hanged by just loading 4 rows and it does nothing for hours.It does not give any error message.I am getting the following from the log file.

This problem seems to be linked with the j2se 1.4.2_10.
Please try a fresh installation with the j2se 1.4.2_09
available at http://java.sun.com.
Also check SAP Note 716604.

hi, i'm getting a error while installing the Sneak preview NetWeaver 2004-SP15 on Windows XP + SP1.
error message: Corrupt GZip trailer
JDK version: 1.4.2_08 and 1.4.2_09
i searched this error on google and i found it's a bug of jdk1.4.2_08.(see this page:<a href="http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583">http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583</a>) it said this version can't run when the uncompressed file is 2GB or larger. and this bug was fixed after jdk1.5. but i noted that Sneak preview was not tested on jdk1.5.Ignore it, i uninstalled jdk1.4.2_08 and Sneak preview,then i installed jdk1.5 and reinstalled Sneak preview.Unfortunated, i got another error.The error code is 3018.

I faced this problem while I was installation.
Following are my installation's step, is there any problem?
1.I have a new system just for installation, it is WindowsXP + SP1(2.5G memory and 2 CPU);
2.download JDk 1.4.2_09 from sun.com and installed it;
3.download Sneak preview Netweaver2004SP15 from sdn.sap.com. There are 3 files total.
Two are NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar, the other is DeveloperStudioSP15.rar;
4.uncompressed NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar. I used winrar, it's OK.
5.start install NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar step by step according to the installation guid.
6.to this step 'SAP J2EE Engine Server Core', all are right;
7.error in the step 'Load Java Database Content';

I also tried jdk1.4.2_08 and I also installed in Windows2000+SP4. But I faced the same problem too.
From sun.com, I know this error is a bug of jdk. They explained that this version can't run OK
when zip-file is larger than 2G. Then I found here's a file
(name is 'NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JAR'). It's size
is 2.08G. I suppose installation can't manage it.
I tried unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'SDMKIT.JAR'.
Then I found another large file in the unziped folder(name is 'F:NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JARpackpackedRoot.jar')
, so I also unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'packedRoot.jar'.
Then I reinstalled, of course, It's no work.
Unexpectedly, I found this download link is not available on the sdn.sap.com(see this page:https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6).
It say that 'We apologize that this version is currently not available to download.'.
I guess there are any problem in this version, are there?
So, now I think I must download another version to install.

Error in PDF preview Handler in Windows Explorer x32

I'm running Windows 7, 32 bit. and I get this error when trying to view a pdf in the preview pane "Error in PDF Preview Handler". I have Adobe Reader X installed, and have re-installed it with no help.
I've read many problems about this, but everyone else is running 64 bit. I'm running 32.

I solved my problem with the exchange of the UNC path against drive letters for the folders in
Administration - System initialisation - General settings - Tab Path
Before:
sbo-data\ruk\attachemnts
After: E:\ruk\attachements (E: is a local drive of the server and we run B1 via Windows Terminal Client on the same machine)
Before I did this, I checked the user rights on the paths, checked the DNS, hosts file, etc.

Are you running the installation from the desktop? If so, please extract the RAR file to C:/ and run the installation from there. I think your path is too long.

Error Installing InDesign CS3 Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 64BIT

I'm trying to install InDesign CS3 Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 64BIT (x64) Edition, however, we get a failure indication on the installer. Before, we have installed it properly on Windows Server 2008 R2 32BIT (x32) but some how we cannot proceed on a x64 box.
Is there any limitation on this sense? Any documentation about it?
