Error: java.lang.nullPointerException when process is complete

Hello,
I keep getting the below error in the log file when the process is complete, does any one has this error before?  The error does not affect the process but it is kind of annoying when looking at the log file.  I try to use the other component beside the Foundation>DecisionPoint>execute but I still get the same error.
[5/16/11 14:57:19:047 CDT] 00000047 AWS           E com.adobe.workflow.engine.ProcessEngineBMTBean stallAction stalling action-instance: 40746 with message: javax.ejb.TransactionRolledbackLocalException:  ; nested exception is: java.lang.NullPointerException
Can any one please advise on how to fix the error above to stop showing in the log file. I am still using LC ES 8.2.1 with SP3.
Thanks,
Han Dao

If you could give a little more info it would help. The web.xml for example, if your mapping it correctly, etc...

  • Error: java.lang.NullPointerException  in BI Broadcasting

    I am having this issue when I am trying Email broadcasting form SAP BI Query and set the filter navigation for one of the characteristic value. Any Idea???
    When I execute the Information broadcasting it gives following message
    Error: java.lang.NullPointerException
    Thanks,
    Addy

    Hi Janine,
    The query works in Java Web and in BEx Excel analyzer. This query even works in the BI email broadcasting for different filter value for the same characteristic in the filter navigation tab setting in broadcasting.
    The same filter value works in Broadcasting when I am broadcasting the query as Excel attachment but does not work when I try to do a PDF report.
    The popup error message is this:

  • What could cause "Internal error: java.lang.NullPointerException: can't not add null to SWF frame" when using compc?

    using flex sdk 4.6, and air sdk 15.0.0.356

    [java] Internal error: java.lang.NullPointerException: can't not add null to SWF frame

    [java] at com.adobe.flash.compiler.clients.COMPC.main(COMPC.java:62)
    which seems to be rather vague, and offers no clue as to what caused the problem. so, my question is, what could cause this error?
    these are the compiler options we use in the build file:
    <java jar="${flex.compc.jar}" dir="." fork="true" failonerror="true">
          <jvmarg value="-Xmx512m" />
          <arg line="@{options} ${_compc.libpath} ${_compc.externspath} ${_compc.includespath}" />
          <arg value="+flexlib=${flex.frameworks.dir}" />
          <arg value="-load-config=@{config}" />
          <arg value="-source-path=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-include-sources=@{src.dir}" />
          <arg value="-output=@{dest}" />
          <arg value="-swf-version=@{swf.version}"/>
          <arg value="-debug=${flash.debug}"/>
          <arg value="-advanced-telemetry"/>
    </java>
    assume that the properties resolve to correct values, since all projects (except one) call this task and compile successfully. the error must come from this one project that fails, but we don't know why.
    any ideas?

    You could be running out of memory, try increasing the -Xmx512m value to -Xmx1024m or another value that you prefer

  • Could not process due to error: java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hello,
    I' m receiving this error :
    Could not process due to error: java.lang.NullPointerException
    I checked mesage monitoring , message status was succesfull and there is not error mesage in SXMB_MONI. Why occured this error?
    Thanks in advance
    Nurhan

    Hi Nurhan,
                  Sateesh query is right one, even I would like to ask you same question.
    Now you know that a particular message mapping is throwing error. This is what you need to investigate further
    1. In the mapping which is giving error, is there any UDF linked to the target element "MT_FILE_TG_01_013_LIMIT/ADD/GUNPRO".
    2. if the there is an UDF check if it contains codes to access ASMA such as filename or directory,Dynamic configuration, or accessing global parameters. If the UDF is doing so then it will give errors in test tab. you have to deactivate or commnet those lines of code and try again.
    3. if there are no UDF linked the target field, then check the source xml using internet explorer. I assume one or more mandatory fields are missing in the source which is being mapped onto target MT_FILE_TG_01_013_LIMIT/ADD/GUNPRO. Find that field and populate the values correctly.
    4. Then continue following the method I stated in my earlier post.
    Finally one more question are you using a BPM or multimapping in your scenario?
    regards
    Anupam

  • 500 Internal Server Error (java.lang.NullPointerException) - email config

    I have installed collaboration suite on xp.
    The install has completed and I am in the process of setting up oracle email.
    Part of the email configuration says that I must stop the sendmail services and start the email listener.
    Then I should change the settings in the 'Unified Messaging Inbound SMTP'
    My problem is when I try and do this at the stage where I select 'Change Settings' I get the error message
    500 internal server error
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    I am not sure how to stop the sendmail services on xp?
    Has anyone seen this before and if so help?

    I didn't think XP/2000/NT had sendmail installed, so there shouldn't be anything to shutdown.
    I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions regarding your NullPointerException, though.

    I have configured Sender File adapter to call my customised module.( Called before standard file module).

    But could not find my Custom Message... There is any way by which I can check if its calling my Custom Module itself?
    There is any setting / parameters which we need to do on J2EE engine in order to activate call to custome module?
    Any help would be really appreciated.
    Nilesh

    It is strange, but in that document of yours it never says anything about the JNDI name in the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml file.
    Check this doc here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3bdc14e1-0901-0010-b5a9-a01e29d75a6a
    According to it, if you properly configure the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml file, then you'd call your module using "localejbs/<JNDIName>".

  • RWB Message monitiring error :java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi experts,
    We have moved our developement system to new hardware with clustering. gdc-vsap-m11 holds ASCS, CI and SCS but database id on gdc-vsap-m10. On exchange profiles and all the connection for integration server, integration repository, integration directory, adapter engine and RWB is set gc-vsap-m11 and on sxmb_adm and sld for intergration server is set to gdc-vsap-m11.
    Now when accessing integration directory and integration repository on the http://gdc-vsap-m11.no.enterdir.com:50800/rep/start/index.jsp is opening perfectly. But on RWB, the message monitoring I get the error java.lang.NullPointerException. At component monitoring I get this:

    this error usually comes when you have used the wrong connection parameters in the adapter.
    confirm the parameters once again

    I have also encountered same issue. Please let me know the solution in case you find it.
    In fact after configuiring Oracle files as per the document provided at Oracle OTN site 'Collaboration handbook', I am unable to connect OID. As per log it says
    2003/04/01:20:37:58[Oidmon]: Unable to connect to database, will retry after 20 sec
    2003/04/01:21:20:21Starting Monitor Process, PID=2920

    2003/04/01:21:41:22Failed to fetch Process Table. ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure
    I checked Listener, which was found ok, then I checked TNSPING, which executed ok.
    I have dowloaded documents troubleshooting OID, but no success. The document itself says that architecture of OID is fairly complex and the log does not suggest much insight.
    Any solution?

    While trying to access the initial login screen of EP, we face this '500 Internal server error - java.lang.NullPointerException: null' issue very randomly. Kindly advise as to what could be the issue..

    Hi,  either the problem should come always for us to be able to trouble shoot it or should not come at all.
    Now since it comes sometimes, i feel that you surely are using more than one app. servers in  your enviroment and some of them are not fine.
    I received this error when i accidently had deleted my sso ticket pairs in the visual admin.
    First troubleshoot by login to individual app servers where the issue is coming. after that check the certificate-cert key pair in keystore admin. you can also delete them and make new ticket pairs..
    If this does not help, replace your login page with the standard sap login page par  com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.
    This should certainly troubleshoot u

    Many thanks for your help.

    I've found something which could maybe be what I need to do but I'm not sure:
    // Build a new ClassLoader using the given URLs, replace current Classloader
    ClassLoader oldCL = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
    ClassLoader newCL = new URLClassLoader(myClasspathURLs, oldCL);
    Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(newCL);
    System.out.println("Successfully replaced ClassLoader");
    Class fooClass = newCL.loadClass(appClass); //which replaces the line "Class<?> tempFileClass = Class.forName("TempFile");" ?!Is that what I need to do?
    EDIT: I've tried that but I still have the same problem:
                      File classFile = new File ("TempFile.class");
                      ClassLoader oldCL = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
                      ClassLoader newCL = new URLClassLoader(new URL[] {classFile.toURL()}, oldCL);
                      Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(newCL);
                      System.out.println("Successfully replaced ClassLoader");
                      Class tempFileClass = newCL.loadClass("TempFile");
                      Method main = tempFileClass.getMethod("main", String[].class);
