Error message "bad check sum" on Satellite pro 6100 when starting up

I recently tried to turn my laptop on when i got the message "bad check sum"(i think it said that) "check system press[f1] to continue. After i pressed f1 it came up an options screen i didnt do anything to it and just continued then it loaded and shut down again. also i have to lie the laptop on its back just for the first green LED to come on and when i have the battery in the charger does not charge the battery and even when it does start to charge and i try to put it on the same sequence of orange LED's appear .
so what does the message bad check sum mean ?

Hi,
That means that the cmos (bios) battery is low on power and you should hang your machine for minimum a day on AC because the bios battery loads then.
Such error appears when your cmos batt. is not full then the bios losts his settings and the checksum which would be performed by the system at startup will be faulty since the bios needs a check to know if everything is OK.
Its a security feature which indicates if your hardware is ok or not. If the error appears more than once, then you should bring your machine to a technician or at least a local servicepartner for a checkup.

    when i power up my laptop, the toshiba start up page shows, then the cursor blinks in the top left corner then nothing.

    The reason I have taken so long to reply was that I am living in Spain and my recovery disc was still in the UK!!!
    Now for my next question, if I install the recovery disc, will I lose all my files or is there a way I can recover these using my other laptop or can I use a boot disc in my floppy drive or in another disc drive.
    Any help would be great

    We are getting the error message while check or save
    PO, "no vendor Specified".
    Case2
    Refernce to SDN solution, Maintained text inplace of no vendor specified messgae no 00 and class 001, &1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8.
    Now Iam getting the error message &1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8.in place of No Vendor specified.
    Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

    We are maintained vendor master, company code and Purchase organation level.
    We are created more than 5 nos vendor for testing and we are through with the  vendor master setting.
    We are able process RFQ,Contract documents but we are getting this error messge while check or saving the PO.

    If you are looking for your  serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section.     Just got off the phone with apple support.  If the photo book completes the assembly process but fails during the upload process the problem is in their overloaded servers.They just started a free shipping promotion for the holidays which has increased the traffic dramatically. I bought a calendar a week ago and it went right through. I'm going to try again during less peak times.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - "Built-in HDD Password" error at startup

    Hi, my laptop (Satellite Pro 6100 P4-M 1.7 GHz/15TFT/256MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/LAN/WiFi/BT/W2K or XP) has rather recently started prompting me with a message "Built-in HDD Password" at boot up. I've never set any passwords on the hard disk in the past, though in desperation of trying to get the laptop running, have tried all the possible passwords that I've ever had. Nothing's working, and I am stranded with a dead laptop on my hands. I would appreciate any help/advice that anyone can render.

    Sadly I think you will need to replace your hard drive. If your notebook is definitely asking for a hard drive password then there is no way of bypassing this and the only way that I know of recovering this situation is to send the hard drive to a specialist company who specialise in this kind of recovery (usually for forensic puposes, Police, armed forces, etc.). This can prove quite expensive.
    The easiest (and cheapest) option would be for you to replace the hard drive and then restore your system and data (either from a backup if you have one, or else from the Toshiba recovery discs).

    Have you tried:
    Turn FaceTime or iMessage off and then back on in Settings.
    Launch Settings by tapping the icon on the Home screen
    Scroll down to Messages or FaceTime
    Toggle the switch from on (green) to off (white)
    Wait a minute
    Toggle the switch back to on (green)
    Wait for it to re-activate
    Hard reboot your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
    Make sure you're on Wi-Fi
    Hold down both the Home button on the front, and the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device
    Wait for the Apple logo to appear
    If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1 (turning FaceTime or iMessage off and on)
    Reset network settings
    Launch Settings by tapping on the icon on the Home screen
    Tap on General
    Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap on Reset
    Tap on Reset Network Settings
    If it still doesn't work, repeat step 1, then step 2, above (Turning FaceTime or iMessage off and one, rebooting).

    User has created A SWL PO with all identical data like vendor, Pur org, product category and only description change for 2 lines. Its showing only one PO which is in 'Error in Process' .
    How can a cart with two lines convert into a 2 line PO ?? as per standard SRM it should create 2 different PO.
    Noted that Error message in monitors reads 'Sum of %>200.0<exceeds 100%' in RZ20.

    there has been a big problem with facetime and imessage. The best solution for this case is to restore your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Make sure you back it up. and I would set up facetime before you reinstall your backup and  make sure its working.

    I use the HP Deskjet 3050A J611 series printer with my laptop and a desktop PC.  It works fine with the laptop but when I installed the software onto the desktop the window error message Bad Image Windows\ System 32\d3d 10 warp.dll kept popping up every few minutesd.  By a process of ilimination I discovered that it was the Photo Creations that was causing the problems, when I removed it all was good and I was able to use the printer.  The only problems is that I now cannot print photos from my pc.  I have windows 7.
    Can anyone help please?

    That error message comes from Direct3D, which is part of the DirectX software in Windows. It appears that part of the DirectX environment on your computer is corrupt. Microsoft provides a diagnostic tool that should help you sort this out. Please see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/run-directx-diagnostic-tool
    If that does not solve the issue, you may want to reinstall the device driver for your graphics adapter.
