Java Script is disabled on my HP laptop. I have done the obvious things. It still will not enable Java Script. What do I try next?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

It started when tryung to update Twitter. Now the problem is with every app I try to update or download.

I have this issue as well. The App Store icon indicates there are updates available but when I open the app a popup says it can't connect to the store and the screen remains white. The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

a. what computer operating system is involved...if we assume Windows
b. have you checked Control Panel/Programs to assure that the program is no longer listed as an installed program?
If it is no longer installed, you might want to consider a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) to get
rid of any leftovers from incomplete installs and uninstalls. Then reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

That happened to my brother earlier. He went into Facebooand then into another app and the same thing happened. he ended up having to restore it. Mine stayed with the Apple logo for a bit but its back to normal after pressing the buttons a million times. I hope you get your problem sorted. Goodluck!

Turn it off. Then put it in a plastic bag of uncooked rice for 5 days. Then try to turn it on. If it still works you are very lucky.

So I am not second guessing too much, tell us where you are in fact plugging it in.
