Error message on mac app store

How do i fix error message that says "the product distribution file could not be verified.  It may be damaged or was not signed." when trying to purchase from Mac App Store?

Oh jeeze, I hate this one. Happens for various reasons. Are you trying to download an OS or what is the package causing it?

  • Error in the Mac app store

I'm trying to ugrade my Lion sistem to Mountain Lion in the Mac app store, but i'm not able to.
Apeears a message ""There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"
    Anyone knows a solution?

Make sure your Mac mini can upgrade to  Mountan Lion. See Step 1 here > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.e >
If you have anti virus software installed, disable that before downloading apps.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
    Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Now here:
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    com.apple.appstore.plist
    com.apple.storeagent.pllist
    Now here:
    ~/Library/Cookies
    Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store.

  • Error 13 in Mac App Store

So I've been trying for the last 12 hours to download ML - but everytime I try in the Mac App Store, I get the message:
"An error ocurred. Try again later. Error 13".
I haven't found anything by searching the topic, as everybody seems to get the error 100 when concerning server problems. I get this error (13) no matter what app I try to download. Is this still server related?
I am using a Macbook Air 2011, and I'm from Denmark (if that matters).

M also getting this freaking error all the time. im from china so this might not have anything to do with the location.
i have tried the method such as clean the /Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.plist and all other cookies and cache but it didn't work. Now m kind of give up and just waiting to call the service when its available...

  • "App store not supported in this country" Error message on ipad app store?

I have a 64Gb wifi ipad and live in Bangladesh.
When i touch the app store icon i get the above error message? But itunes on the ipad works fine?
However the app store icon on my phone 3GS works fine.
I have also tried disabling the location services tab in settings and still get the same message when i try to open the app store. However, itunes works fine.
I also tried a vpn connection back to the UK and i tunes works fine, but the app store still gives the same error message?
    Any thoughts?

I'm a US Citizen but I spent a significant amount of time working in Japan; therefore, I maintain a residence there. As a result I have both US and Japanese iTunes accounts. Switching back and forth between accounts on my iPhone works with no problem on my iPhone 3GS.
Yesterday, I purchased a 64GB iPad 3G and logged into my Japanese iTunes account on the iPad, but when I go to the App Store, I get the message you posted about. At the very least, I should be able to download iPhone Apps from the Japanese store like I do on my iPhone.
It is ridiculous that I can download Japanese iPhone apps in iTunes and sync them to my iPad but I can't download them from the store on my iPad. Come on Apple, fix this nonsense!

  • Unknown Error message on the App Store

I keep getting an Unknown Error message each time I try to update my apps on the App Store. Please help.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • What is an error (18) from Mac App Store?

I have tried everything under the sun, can not get MAS to update my iPhoto and iMovie on an Xserve.  Always get an error (18) but no clue what that means.

If you originally installed iPhoto from an iLife DVD, or if it came preinstalled on a Mac that shipped with installation discs, then you can't update it in the App Store. Depending on what version it is, there may be an updater you can use on the Apple Support website. Otherwise you'll have to purchase iPhoto from the App Store.

  • Security confirmation error message when using app store

I just bought both of my kids ipads, when I try to purchase an app from the app store it provides me a security challenge asking me what the first car I owned was and what the first concert I attended was.  I didn't remember the answers to these questions, so I logged into my account on the apple website from my pc and created new questions and new answers.  However, whenever I try to download from the ipads now, it shows the same questions, even though I have changed my security questions in my preferences to questions other than those.  Thus, I cannot purchase any apps for my kids.  I've tried powering the ipads down, but that didn't help.  I'm not sure what other troubleshooting to try.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Try go to Settings>Store and sign out and then sign back in.

  • Error 1004 in Mac App Store

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 model running OS X latest version (10.8.3).  The Kindle App was not working properly so I deleted the app and have been trying to install it for the past few days but each time I am getting an ERROR 1004. I am however able to download / install / update other apps.  Pls help

    Hi,
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and when I try to download any App I got the same error (1004).
It isn't any problem with firewall, because I disabled the machine firewall and from my network my iPhone dowload apps normally.
I believe  the problem occurs during authentication, because when I went to menu Store and try to see my purchases it says I need to sign in first.
I sign in and in Store menu the options change to Sing out, but if I try to see my purchases, the same message asking to sing in appears, I keep getting the error 1004 when I try to download any App.
Anybody have any idea how to fix it?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Mac App Store - FaceTome update to 1.0.1 fails

apparently I am not alone - seeing others with similar issue:
Error message from Mac App Store app:
You have updates available for other accounts

can perform updates for other AppStore purchased applications. seeing same issue on 3 different Macs.

BUT now that I am in 1.0.2 I see that FULL SCREEN MODE is greyed-out. Is that because I am not in a video call with someone? I haven't truly used this yet (trying to find someone with whom I can test it!) -- but should one be able to go to full screen mode even if just alone on FaceTime?
    Thanks for any comment,

Yes, you must be on a FaceTime call to change the video settings.

I have same issue. Have Facetime preinstalled on MBP, tried to call "X". It says "need to update Facetime". My version says 1.0, go to AppStore, click on "Buy" and it says i already have this and I need to go to software update. I go there and it says everything is up to date. ***?! I followed instructions from this thread to delete the app, but none of that works and it actually screws up the app. Luckily I had it backed up on an external harddrive. Called Apple Care.... they followed the same routine to move facetime to trash... and screw it all up.. ***??!
As it turns out, I finally figured it out. The message actually says "X needs to update Facetime", not me. There's nothing wrong with my facetime on MBP, as it works when I try to call "Y" and "Z". The problem lies with "X"'s iphone that needs updating. Problem solved.

  • Error message when trying to download from Mac App Store

When I try to download an app in the Mac App Store I get an error message:  "We could not complete your purchase.  Error Unknown."  Sometimes it says: "There is an error in the Mac App Store".  This has been going on for a couple of days now.  I have tried signing out of the Mac App Store, logging out of my User Account, and then signing back in, as has been suggested in other threads.  But that did not work.
    Suggestions?

Here is an update and more information:  I actually have two MBP's.  One is a mid-2009 model and one is a new, mid-2012.  I transferred files from the mid-2009 to the mid-2012, but I use both computers frequently.  This problem only occurs on the mid-2009 and not on the mid-2012.  I have authorized both computers.
