Error message: "Querying or saving changes to the database failed."
Hi all,
I can sense I'm becoming a regular on this particular forum - the problem of spending 8 hours a day trying to get this software working!
_*The problem*_
When i try and setup a new device, or modify an existing one, I get an error message when i get to the Transcode Settings page. The error message is "Querying or saving changes to the database failed." After this I get a blank screen and can no longer see my settings.
No amount of restarting has fixed this. And I cannot see a way to create a device through the client software and add transcode settings.
Help?

Ah very good!
Ok - it seems then that this works absolutely fine as a work around. I can create a device and then assign the device to transcode settings through the client adminsitration panel (which is indeed what I meant).
So, there is a work around. Far less pressing now, but I would like to know why I'm getting the error message all the same - I'm now concerned about the integrity of the database...

What's up with this? I tried trashing the preferences, but got the same message. I have a 27-inch late 2013 iMac running Mavericks with 445.55 GB free space.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.You've already tried trashing iMovie preferences (By the way think in Mavericks you have to reboot as well after this for the new preferences to take effect) . One other thing to try is creating a new user account, logging in and seeing if you can create a new project in iMovie (of course you won't see your exisitng projects). If you can then iMovie itself is OK. If not then the only other thing I can think of is re-installing iMovie (see http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/How-To-Re-Download-Apps-From-The-Mac-Ap p-Store.htm)
Is everthing else working OK after your computer crash? Maybe you should also run Verify disk in Disk Utility.
Maybe someone-else has some other suggestions (I have not heard of this problem before)?

Access 2003 - Repeated "You cant make changes to the database" error
Hey all,
Im having a very strange problem with Microsoft Access 2003, we work with old databases and when we open them up through Access 2003 we get the message "you cant make changes to the database objects" error, which is expected. However the laptop has started to repeat this message over and over about 8 times after the first time you click on it. Its very annoying to have to keep clicking to get rid of the error message. Its a very strange problem, any ideas on how to solve this or even to explain what might of happened will be appreciated.

P.S. It is not an option to update the database, we work with a program that uses an old 97 database and if you update the database the program will stop working.Hi
Firstly it doesnt seem that this is a Toshiba notebook fault.
This sounds more like a Microsoft issue.
I would recommend checking the Microsoft knowledge base articles or/and contact the Microsoft support.

At the end of a synch I am getting the following error message "iTunes could not back up the iPod because the backup could not be saved on the computer". Any ideas on how to resolve?

Try going to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and delete the existing backup so iTunes creates an entire new one vice changing the existing one. -

Constant error message attempting to save changes
I have my work Exchange account saved into my Mac. I am receiving my Exchange work emails in Mail, and that works pretty seamlessly, but my Calendar won't sync properly. I recently deleted an Exchange calendar event through my Mac on iCal, and now, I constantly receive an error message that says:
Calendar can't delete the event "xxx" from the Exchange server.
There was an error attempting to send your changes to the exchange server.
The options it gives me are:
1. Revert to Server
2. Try Again
3. Ignore
I have tried all three options, but the error messages still comes up.
I went to my Exchange account on a browser and through my work computer to delete the event through the Exchange server, and I continuously get the error on my Mac.
I also went and deleted my Exchange account from my Mac then re-added it, but I still get this error.
What is wrong? How can I really delete this?I had this problem too and finally solved it. Not sure whether it helpes others.
1. Close Calendar
2. Go to folder: ~/Library/Cache
3. Remove from folder 3 files: Calendar Cache, Calendar Cache-shm, Calendar Cache-wal
4. Go to system preferences, internet accounts
5. Deselect calendar from exchange account
6. Restart Mac
7. Go to system preferences, internet accounts and re-select calendar from exchange account
8. Restart Mac
9. Open calendar

I'd be grateful for your help.
I've just bought a new laptop and installed Office 2013. I used Excel 2013, did what I needed to do and saved it. This was 5 days ago.
Today, I've tried opening the file from my desktop and get the error message 'There was a problem sending the command to the program'.
And when I try to open Excel to do the DDE fix, which seems to be the best suggestion, I can't open Excel at all. I've tried to get into it from the Apps screen.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
ThanksDon't seem like this can be fixed so I went back to version 6.0.2 which works good.
I have Chrome now as my default browser and will not use fire fox until they fix it!

I am trying to import cr2files from the camera into lightroom 5 and keep getting an error message saying Lightroom can not read the files and therefore will not import them. Has anyone had a similar problem….thanks
If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

I get an error message when trying to sign into the support community with another Apple id. On the <pick a username> screen I get "an account utilizing this address already exists.Only one account per email address is allowed on the Apple Support Communities" despite trying a few usernames. Anyone know how I can resolve this?
This problem has been driving me demented. The instructions that Ivan gives have partially worked for me. By following his link
"How to find out if you have multiple Apple IDs" I was able to identify that yes I did have two apple accounts using the same e mail address. One was very old that I used to use for the forum boards and one is my much more recent ID that I use for everything these days. So I changed the e mail address for the old account which is associated with these discussion boards and that's the account that I am now posting this from. However even though the two accounts now have different e mail addresses when I try to log onto the boards with my more recent main apple ID I still get all the same errors as described at the start of this thread by rodgers_j. And of course that's the one I want to use so that I only have one itunes account for everything.
So if anyone has any more hints I'd be very grateful. -
please help. Can't install quictime player or itunes on windows 7. Get the error message There is a problem with the windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Have followed all the steps suggested and still no luck.
thank you for trying to help. I do not have apple software update on my computer. I have tried to install several programs so i could install it but every installation will not finish and rolls back and says no changes were made to my computer so i can't install the update. I even tried to force install as administrator but nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have windows 7 64 bit.

I'm needing help to solve a problem with an SFTP Receiver interface.
Before I was sending in the adapter configuration as "Direct" in Write Modus (File .txt) and now I changed to "Use temporary file" is occurring this error:

Files as TXT they are being written to the SFTP however when as TMP returns this error ... would not rule SFTP server to accept different TXT files?
I also changed the namespace to "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SFTP" and "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File" but is not working.
Any help will be welcome!

I believe the problem is when the application's legacy system picks up the file because the log file got the "tmp", ie, was not formed yet ...
I changed to a directory without the intervention of the legacy application and it worked.
I'm waiting for the opportunity to modify the legacy system to capture only files with the extension TXT.

Am not able to use facebook on my Iphone 4, softwareversion:iOS7.1, also tried to access through safari and chrome that i have installed it gives an error message saying: "safari could not open the page because server stopped responding", i tried network reset, reset the whole device, rebooting , changing airplane mode rebooting nothing fix the issue, but i can access other sites and google , am using Vodafone as my carrier with 2g network, when at home able to access facebook.com through wifi in safari requesting assistance thank you
If you can access Facebook while on Wifi at home, but you are unable to access it while away running on your carrier's 2G network, I could phone your carrier. You have already completed the Cellular Data troubleshooting for the iPhone, so any limitations keeping your from connecting to Facebook over cellular will have to be answered by your carrier.
