SI,
You can download here:

Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case.

I recently loaded OSX mavericks on my Imac. I now find I cannot open any Adobe products from CS5. The error message reads " to open Adobe illustrator CS5.app, you need to install a JAva SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check and install one? I try to install but get the error" download error". As far as i know I'm using Adobe Java 7. None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.
This goes for Dreamweaver CC on Mavericks!!!!! THANK YOU!
I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks! -
I recently did a system update and installed Yosemite on my Mac. Now I am unable to open CS5 at all. The error message I get is this: "To open Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, you need to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I have tried downloading this and it still gives me the same mess
In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?
thx for any input -
I just updated my Mac to the new op system and when I tried to open my Ai it gave me this message, "To open "Adove Illustrator CS5.1 you need to install the legacy java SE 6 runtime." I updated my Java to 8 and it still won't open. I tried to update my Ai to 11...it won't update.
Steven,
The right way/order is to update the OP, then reinstall the applications.
For the Java SE,

I just had a new hard drive put in my IMac and ever since I got it home this error pops up "To open X1100 Series Button Monitor, you need to install Rosetta. Would you like to install it now? Two years ago I had a Lexmark printer attached to this Mac. I'm not sure why this is happening as I believe I have move all Lexmark files to the Trash bin. Does anyone know how I can stop getting this error? Thanks.
Check in System Preferences> Printers to see if the Lexmark is still showing in your printer list. If it is, click it and hit the minus button to remove it.
If it's not showing, when you trashed the Lexmark software, did you notice if there was an uninstall file? Sometimes just moving unwanted programs to the trash can doesn't get rid of all of the installed software and the software manufacturers include an uninstall option to remove those 'hidden additional files'.
Check support at Lexmark's web site to see if they offer a solution. -
I'm working on a Mac and when I hit the icon to open the program, it bounces and acts like it is going to open, but then nothing happens.
Have you read this Dreamweaver and Java SE 6 Runtime problem on MAC Mountain Lion OSX?

The window then states, "Click More info...to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website." I do click on the More Info... button, but the webpage is blank. Please help.
Thanks,

I get the message, "To open 'Adobe Illustrator CS5.1.app' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. What to do?
Sorry, I didn't say it damages Java.
Yes, I know. You were quoting from a post on Adobe's site.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it wasn't since Mountain Lion.
Yes, I think that's correct. Apple stopped installing Java as part of the OS after Lion. If you check the installers for Mountain Lion through Yosemite, there are a lot of root Java processes OS X still installs, or Java wouldn't work at all. It's just the actual runtime environment no longer installs. The user has to do that.
that the application files are damaged. They are not talking about JAVA itself.
What application files? Do you mean the Adobe apps themselves? If so, yes, it's been reported that the CS5 and CS6 apps in particular usually need to be reinstalled after upgrading OS X to Yosemite. That's actually an old problem that isn't a Yosemite only issue. -
hello, every time i start up my Mac mini i get a message saying To open "adobe" you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime.
But when i press install it says no connection available even though i am connected to a really reliable and fast connection.
Please help - Thank you!every time i start up my Mac mini i get a message saying To open "adobe"
That's not what your screenshot shows. It shows "java," not "adobe." Regardless, I very strongly suggest that you figure out what is trying to use Java before you install it. -
Hi Apple Support Communities, I need some support.
After loading Mavericks with lots of happiness primarily to be able to use dictation, see my previous query. Since then I have also had this come up on my Macbook Air everytime I start it.
To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? I tried yes (many times over many days).
Install.
Finding software. Can't download the software because of a network problem.
There is no problem with my internet connection & I have Java 7. My apologies that I am just a general user & not up with technical issues, would someone please enlighten me on what to do to fix or remove this error.
its now become a tiresome thing that together with not being able to use (download) the enhanced dictation & my imail/gmail problems that makes me wanna buy a PC next time. Major bummer.
Please help. Thankyou in anticipation.i had the same problem and i fix it installing ccleaner, it is free and an excellent program. You can download it from: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Once installed, in the tab "Herramientas" (sorry but i have it in spanish) you choose "Inicio" and them you pick CS5ServiceManager then you pick in delete option. Basically you are removing of the startup programs...
Hoping to be helpful, and excuse my bad english! -
I have a dialogue box that will not go away and it seems to have started when I upgraded to Mt. Lion. the box says, "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java 6 SE runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? (smaller print) Note: Usw of this software is subject to the Software License Agreement applicable to the software you are downloading. A list of Apple SLAs may be found here: htp://www.apple.com/legal/sla/
Finally there are two boxes to click. One says not now. If I click on that the box goes away for 2 to 3 seconds and then pops back up and WILL NOT go away. If I click on the second box, Install, it says The software is currently unavailable. To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Java Application again.
My confusion here is that I have no idea what the java application is, When I click "okay" on that box, the original box pops us again and WILL NOT go away. CGoing to the apple lega web site was no help. My solution so far has been to drag the dialogue box as far to the lower right and out of the way as far as I can. Help.Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.
