Error Message When Importing Bookmarks From A Network Share

An error message is generated whenever I try to import bookmarks.html from a network share on kubuntu. This same operation is sucessful on the windows version of firefox.
To replicate:
The bookmarks.html is created by Firefox 3.68 on windows 7. And is saved to a network share location. When trying to import this file into firefox 3.6.8 on my kubuntu 10.04 machine, I get the error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
If I copy bookmarks.html local to the kubuntu machine, it imports without error.
On windows, I can import bookmarks.html from the network share without error.
Does anyone know why I can't import across the network on the kubuntu version?
browser being run on windows 7:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8
browser being run on kubuntu 10.04:
Firefox 3.6.8 Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0.

It appears to be any remote file, not just the bookmarks file. When trying to upload a file to a website, firefox threw up the same error:
error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
So what is it about files that are sitting on a server, firefox and kubuntu that causes this? I don't get the error message when using win7 on the same files.

You might want to run a disk and permissions repair to find that extra space.

Image Capture sends error message when importing photos from my camera

I tried to import photos from my Fuji FinePix JX600 using Iphoto. Received an error notice and was unable to import. Tried Image Capture and it imported 220 of 407 pictures and then sent an error notice. Very frustrated. It's a new camera and I never had any problem with my old camera. Can anyone tell me what the issue may be and how to resolve it?

There seem to be a number of possibilities.

Error Message when importing songs from CD

I am a newbie with a 30gb iPod video. I have been able to import multiple cd's to the iPod without any problem. I am now receiving the message "Some of the songs in the Itunes music library including the song "xxxx" were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod." I have searched around and can't find any reference to this message. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

First, create groups for each process. Then go to [Setup] -> Setup -> Privileges -> Requests and select the defined teams (must be above the Proof Options).

Get an error message when importing from iPhoto says, "There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 44GB of free space."

I get an error message when importing from iPhoto that says, "There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 44GB of free space." the drive is empty, I just reformatted it to Mac OSX journaled.

I'm guessing this is an extrenal drive, correct? If so make sure the library you're importimng into is really located on the external drive. By default Aperture creates its library in your home pictures folder.

autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

Error message when importing CD's into iTunes.

I've just started getting an error message when importing audio CD's into itunes. +"Error occured while converting the file "........". The disk could not be read from or written to."+ I've been importing CDs for years now and this just started happening last night. The disk image shows up on the desktop, itunes opens and recognizes the disk and searches the database and finds the artist/track names/album etc. Then when I click the import button, I get this message. If I click on the disk image in the desktop and click on a specific file it will play through iTunes. No new changes except for maybe downloading the latest iTunes update. Any suggestions? Iron-Mike, MP3 and AAC were both invented well after CD audio and both algorithms are well aware of CD format. Make sure you have "Soundcheck" settings turned on both for iTunes playback and for CD burning. iTunes Soundcheck is supposed to normalize the volumes in spite of variations in the files. Many people have noticed that they don't really work very well, but having them on is better than nothing.

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

Hi all Thanks for the rapid response. However I have sort of found the problem but not the solution. I tried loading direct from the card but that failed in the same way. So I had a think what had changed and it was only one thing. It has always worked before because I was using my XP desktop machine. I am now using a W7 laptop. So I went back to XP and hey presto, it worked. SO what does that mean? Any ideas?? Only obvious difference is the OS. In answer to why I am loading from Photoshop. I have loaded 150 video clips from the card from a compact camera.( Been on safari!) I am using PS to sort and tag for various things, then send one group to PE . I ended up that route because they loaded into PS and not PE. So in summary:- I cannot load either directly from card or via PS, video clips into PE on W7, but I can on XP. I can load same into PS and view OK in PS on W7. In case you need further info, but I suspect its a windows issue? OS=W7, PE V7, PSV7, On the W7 PC it says... BIT rate=705kps!,Sample Rate=44khz,Channel count =1 Says image is avi but I thought it was mpeg Nothing else running Its a big fast empty machine, you could have the numbers if you really want but I don't think its relevant Sorry its abit long . Hello, I get the following pre execute error message(see below) when I try to import a table from Excel when using the wizard. I wrote my own code in the edit window. i noticed after writing it that the data types did not appear changed in the mappings window.

Importing Closed Caption .scc file into Premiere Pro CS6. Closed Captioning is enabled but cannot see the Captions tab. Also get error message when importing to bin.

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. My aim is to export an mpeg file with closed captioning embeded for network television. I have watched numbers adobe videos and have spent countless hours researching this. I am able to generate about 29 different types of Closed Caption files using MovieCaptioner- including .scc (which Adobe says they prefer). When I try to "Import" the file I get an incompatible error message. The same happens with all other cc file types when I try to import them. Second, I tried attaching the .scc as an attachment in the sequence menu. They show up in the preview window, but do no encode into the mpeg file. Sorry, you cannot do this in Premiere Pro CS6. Only QuickTime files can be exported with embedded closed captioning and this must be done in Premiere Pro CC or later. All other formats must use a sidecar file.

You can only attach a closed caption file in Premiere Pro CS6, no encoding is available for closed caption files (embedded or sidecar).

Caption is a tab is in the Export Settings dialog box if you want to export with closed captions. This tab is available in Premiere Pro CC and later.

In Creative Cloud, you would still have trouble encoding a MPEG 2 file with embedded captions as it is a QuickTime only feature. There might be a plug-in available, but I'm not aware of it.

Getting Error Message when importing iTunes Music to iMovie 6?

Am I missing something? I used to be able to import my iTunes music to a movie creation in iMovie 6. I'm now getting an error message "Error during import. The file could not be imported: The file could not be found."
I have moved my music to an external drive - don't know if that made a difference.

Interesting...I have moved my iTunes music onto the external drive probably six months ago. That music still works off the external via iTunes. I just looked in iTunes and my preferences are showing my local drive to store music. And recent music that I have purchased (last few months) is showing in the local drive. When I picked one of the songs from the local it works.
So now I guess the question is what will happen if I move the music from the local to the external and reset the preferences in iTunes. It should work right?

Hi. I get an error message - unknown error occurred while converting ... Ox77686174 etc - when I try to import songs from CD to itunes. It might happen with one song or with a whole CD. Very frustrating!! Also some songs do not import properly, eg, only get 30 secs or miss first secs of song. Any ideas. Thanks
