Error message whenever I try to use QuickTime

Had older version of QT-worked fine--used only for Picture Viewer and video clips downloaded from my digital camera. Downloaded newer version--would not work--got only msg: "QuickTime has encountered a problem and has to close"--same as Celestika. Unfortunately it also permanently disabled the older version! Learned new version required Windows Service pack 3, so I installed it, QT still not working. Re-downloaded QuickTime 7.6.6 July 12--same message--"QT has encountered a problem and has to close." I don't know how to access technical suopport for this problem--unable to do so on this website. Can someone help?

That's perfect information as it is, thanks, aru. (We can deal with everything in the folder "at once" as it were.)
There are too many files: QuickTime.cpl, QuickTime.qtp, QuickTime.qts, QuickTimeCheck.ocx, and QuickTimeVR.qts, in that order.
Drag the QuickTime.cpl, the QuickTimeCheck.ocx, and the QuickTime.qtp out onto the desktop. Have a quick doublecheck for a QuickTimeMusicalInstruments.qtx as well, and drag that out onto the desktop if it is present. (That often seems to appear running-around-loose when those other ones you're seeing show up for people ... although the precise details of what shows up in people's systems will depend on what software dropped the files there. There's quite a big range in numbers and types of files that can show up.)
There was also a folder containing 17 items,
Drag that entire QuickTime folder out onto the desktop.
With those items out of the system32, try launching your QuickTime Player again. Does it open this time?
If you're up and running again, it should be safe to delete the files and folders you dragged out onto the desktop. (You might need to reboot the PC first, though. System software can "have hold" of the files, and not let them be deleted ... but a reboot usually breaks the grip.)

Are you getting activation errors? As Ned stated , it is easier to troubleshoot if we have the specific type of error and error detail that you are getting.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

All headphones give distorted, crackly sound. Sometimes no sound. Headphone jack broken? Apple expresslane support giving a "generic error" message whenever I try to send in for service...

As in the title. For a while the headphone jack is occasionally crackly when the jack moves around in the port. It finally died today when I plugged it in and all the audio is heavily distorted and sometimes cuts out completely. Whenever I try to set up a service with Apple I keep getting this error message:

We need to know exactly what version of Photoshop you are using. There are two versions of Photoshop CC as well as CS6 still available, and it makes a difference.
We need to know a bit about your hardware. You say it is an HP, but what is the model number? How much memory (RAM) does it have, for instance. An easy way to pass on that information would be to open Photoshop and go Help > System info > Copy and paste it into this thread along with your other answers.
Has the rectangle tool ever worked?
Have you had any other issues?
What have you tried by way of a fix? It's OK if asking here was your first step.

Incidentally I can access the site via my iPhone. Communications with the site webmaster has verified that they have not blacklisted my IP address.
