Dear All,
After saving the billing document, & it is not realesed to A/c. Document.My client came across the following error;
Error occurred in derivation rule. See long text
Message no. K/111
CO-PA Characteristic Derivation
Diagnosis
Step 0031 Category --> Item Category Dummy
No entry in a derivation rule was found for the specified source fields.
The derivation rule was set up so that an error message appears when this happens.
The required derivation rule entry would need the following source fields:

Create an entry in a derivation rule for these source field values. Make sure that entries exist for all the valid source field values. If the derivation should not always be carried out, you can also define a derivation rule so that no error message appears if a derivation rule entry does not exist.

I was able to duplicate your error by creating the following.
I went to transaction FMDERIVE and created a derivation rule and named it "Fund From Commitment Item".
On the definition tab, I selected committment item (COMMIT_ITEM) for the source field and the target field selected (FUND).
The condition tab was left blank. NOTE: On the attribute tab I selected the option "Issue Error Warning If No Value Found).
I entered no rule values (F9) within the rule (for example such as commitment item XXXXXXX = fund YYYYY) and saved.
After creating this derivation rule, I get the same error message because there were no values in the derivation rule (the source commitment item used was not found in the rule).
If Fund is a field that is always keyed manually then I would not have such a derivation rule.
But you may have some exceptions (like we do) and in the case of exceptions you can populate the derivation rule with those exceptions... i.e. whenever commitment item XXXX is used then the fund should be equal to YYYY further using your conditions and attributes for your custom needs.

otherwise, it seems in your 'Characteristic Derivation/ Display Rule values' you are missing an argument 'to Product Group', therefore the system gives you this error 'The system could not find a rule entry valid..'.

You need to check your derivation rule, T. Code: FMDERIVE for Fund then activate the trace, this will help you why fund is not deriving from commitment item, or tell us the detail of derivation for fund you have set.

Error while defining derivation rules in FMDERIVE

We are currently on ECC6. While defining Funds Mgmt .... activated the derivation rules in FMRULES. But when I try to define the derivation rules in FMDERIVE .. I get the following error: Syntax error in program "RFMDERIVE003 ".

CRM Order: Error occurred during determination of profitability segment

Hello All,
I have created a Trade promotion in CRM, and maintained the determination condition and Discount condition for the combination of
Customer /Sales org /Product.
I have maintained settings for CO-PA in connected SAP ECC
When i create a sales order in CRM , trade promotion is determined in the order and also discount is considered in the order pricing.
When i save the order in CRM, an entry in the outbound queue of CRM is created with destination pointing to ECC, which is having the status: SYSFAIL.
The description of the error is :" Error occurred during determination of profitability segment "
Suppose when if i remove the trade promotion which was determined in the order and then save the order i dont get this error.
Hence could you please help me providing additional settings which should be done if we want to have TPM also.

I am stuck on i very critical issue, i am not able to solve it, I am SD consultant, i wrote this issue on FI forum also, but i did not get complete solution, they write me back it is SD issue.
When i create a new sales order and click enter, a small screen open and message displayed on it "Error occurred in Derivation Rule, See long text"
And when try to save sales order in display incompletion log. When i press on edit to complete it message display " Item 10 ... Missing data- Profitability Segment No.
When i press on complete data - Account Assignment screen open (Business Area 9900)

to get a solution you need to provide the members of this forum with details regarding your PA set-up.
PA is normally very customer driven, so not standard.
Without information regarding your structure there you will not get any solution.

I ckeck the transaction code /nKEDR there which entry i should select and in type of prfatibity Which one i should select Costing based or Accounting based.
I tried on selecting IDEA and Accounting based and eleased but still i getting same error.

COPA Derivation rule Error Message no. KE0C133

We have Fiscal Year 2010(April To March) and we are maintaining the derivation rule for the cost center in KEDR
Ane we are facing following error (Cost center validity is maintained from 01.04.2010 To 31.12.9999)
If we maintain validity period in from 01.04.2009 To 31.12.9999, then system is allowing to maintain derivation rule.
What you suggest in this Case ?
Derivation error :
Characteristic value DIC APOPS01DMU does not exist for characteristic COPA_KOSTL (Cost center)
Message no. KE0C133
Diagnosis
The characteristic "COPA_KOSTL" ("Cost center") should be posted to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA). When the system checked the entries, it was established that the transferred characteristic value (" DIC APOPS01DMU") is not valid in CO-PA.
System Response
The data is not consistent and therefore cannot be transferred to CO-PA.
Procedure
With the function Maintain Characteristic Values, you can add characteristic values to those that are valid.

Hi,
I understand you are checking derivation rule by transaction KEDR.
When you check Derivation, you can input "Derivation Date" in the bottom of Characteristic Popup screen. Please consider what the system check the validity period for e.g. cost center with using "Derivation Date".
Additionally, for CO-PA planning, please consider that CO version also have "Derivation date".

The derivation rule was set up so that an error message appears when this happens.The required derivation rule entry would need the missing source fields.
Please click on the error message which should give you the missing source fields list. Maintain configuration in tcode KEDE and KEDR for the these fields and save,

Hi all,
I am trying to post an invoice using FB60 against an internal order. I get the message 'Errror in derivation rule' (ABADR01). The long message states 'No entry in a derivation rule was found for the specified source fields.'.
Why do I see this message, and what can I do to correct the situation?
Any help is appreciated..

Hi,
It's a message from CO-PA. It means that the system could not derive the characteristics from the source field of the original document. You have to check the integrity of your rules in KEDR transaction.

Cost model derivation rules error

Hey PS upgraders,
We are upgrading 4.6c to 6.0. When I m uploading the cost model from 4.6c to 6.0 thru CKCM , derivation rules are missing in 6.0.
Does any one come across this kind of issue in 6.0.

Error during automatic settlement rule creation

For the investment project, I maintained as follows, first level WBSE - Only planning element - no settlement. 2nd level WBSE - settled to AuCs. For level three & below settled to Superior WBSE. I had created the Settlement type with '5'. When I am executing CJB2 to create the Settlement rules automatically, I am getting the following error message for level 3 & below WBSE.
Enter a valid value for the settlement type :

Diagnosis
The system found a settlement type settlement type in the settlement rule which either does not exist or is unsuitable for the sender.
Procedure
If possible, enter a suitable settlement rule. Remember that the rules for preliminary settlement ("PRE") of capital investment measures are different from those for period settlement ("PER") of other settlement senders. Periodic settlement only makes sense for capital investment measures. They must not have any "PER" rules.
To enter an investment profile (in the control data for an order or WBS element) or to remove it. However, first delete the PER or PRE rules (in the settlement rule) and er zu in internal orders, you can first change the investment profile and then adapt the rules before you save.

Could you please me its very urgent!
My user are doing the monthly physical inventory,but for some components,when they are tring to post the physical inventory diff ,its giving an error " ERROR OCCUR IN THE DERIVATION RULE" .

Check with the Movement type useing for that posting the Physical diff and also check the document for the same.
