Error Opening After Effects CS3 - cannot load AERes1.dll

Hello,
When I try to open After effects I get this Error "cannot load AERes1.DLL"
I tried to reinstall after effects and it didnt dfix the problem.
I uninstalled the entire Master collection CS3 and reinstalled and the problem didnt solve.
I could open After Effects in the past.
Any suggestions?

OK so this is how I solved the problem if anyone encounter it ever again...
Uninstalling and reinstalling the CS3 won't help.
The problem happens probably because of quicktime installed prior to the CS3 updates. I didnt try to remove quicktime. I formatted my PC and luckly I had an image of my c: drive from the time I installed the cs3 and prior to the time I installed Quicktime. So I made all Adobe Cs3 updates first and only than installed Quicktime.
Now After Effects works.
If anyone finds a way to solve this without formatting c: drive, let me know.

After Effects Crash on Loading Screen

As I open After Effects, the purple loading screen appears and it appears to be loading. As it starts to say 'Cleaning Up', a warning message appears. It says: "After Effects Warning: Invalid type conversion". After this pop-up disappears, another comes up saying: "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Aspect HD and After Effects CS3:

I get the following error in After Effects CS3:
After Effects error: Failed to build Graph
When I try to render a movie (from AECS3) to Cineform AVI format.
The movie has the following settings:
1920 x 1080 (1.00)
29.fps
Millions of Colors+ (Straight)
No Compression

No idea, but the message sounds like it is not able to calculate the data rate for the stream and thus cannot compress it. From what little source footage I have in CF CoDecs, I generally get the impression that it's all rather twitchy in combination with AE, so this may be more a matter of tweaking some settings in the CoDec which the CF people could tell you better than me, obviously.

Cannot Load OCI.Dll

Hello:
I just installed the 64-bit version of 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.6) on a server that is running 64-bit Windows 2003 Server.
The installation was successful and I checked using SQL Plus. I am able to log and execute queries. I am also able connect using SQL Developer.
However, when I tried to use SQL Navigator (version 6.1) or Toad 10.0, I get an error message "... Cannot load OCI.DLL".
When I tried to install another COTS product, it complains that it was unable to find Oracle Client and/or Oracle OLE Objects.
I was trying both the tasks on the server itself.
Any ideas on how I can resolve the issues?

I have the same problem: Oracle 11 R2 on Solaris x86-64 and Oracle client (11.1.0.7.0 x64, unfortunately, there's no client higher than that version.). After installing TOAD 10.1 i've checked client connection:

After Effects CS3 Won't Open

Hi,i need help for a little problem, i'll describe it step by step
1.When I open AE CS3, nothing happens,
2.if i click another times, it open after effects but no start-loading happens, and i can't use the option in the tool bar,

I recommend to follow Todd's advise. There's surely someone speaking French just a phone call away. Unfortunately 0 :: 42 is the most generic error one can ever come across, so there's not really a quick solution. Since you are on Vista, the most likely guess is that you may
a) need to trash the prefs and
b) disable OpenGL by removing the AE_OpenGL.aex plugin
Either of the two or the combination of them both might provide a solution. Also check your version of Quicktime and update it, if necessary.

I am trying to open a .mxf files from 2 different Panasonic cameras in After effects CS3

I am trying to open .mxf files from 2 different Panasonic cameras (the HVX 200A and the HPX 170) in Adobe After Effects CS3. I have down loaded all of the Adobe CS3 upgrades and I have also installed the P2 card reader for Tiger which is the operating system on my mac. I have not been able to open these files. Can anyone help pls?

I am experiencing the above stated problem in the subject. I downloaded the trial version off the website. But when starting the program, i got the error:
Error "sfntread library error (83::4)" when I start After Effects CS3
I tried looking at resolving it through the help posted in the support site.

Apparently, the value which was asked to change, it was already set to "0"
Is there not anything else I can do?

Well, I have no more detailed info for you, but if this error (and other, similar ones) pops up, it is usually a good idea to take a look at your shared Adobe components and other Adobe programs. The error itself seems related to the Adobe font system and/or generic vector rasterization engine such as it is also used by Acrobat and various import/ export filters. Therefore a good place to start is to remove any fonts on the system that you don't need. The engine may simply be trying to load them and then fails because they are damged or have some otehr ominous info. If that fails, look into what otehr apps you have on the system. Run the Adobe Updater to make sure you have all the latest versions. If it still does not work think about uninstalling the products. I know it's a pain, but it may get AE to function. As a helper, use the CS3 Clean scripts from the support pages. These will work a little faste and really kill everything (compared to a normal uninstall), Just make sure to deactivate before uninstalling, or you may run into trouble when trying to reactivate.

After Effects CS3 - error: could not create 8935 x 9152 image buffer + slow

Hello. I am receiving this error message every time i try render my 3min composition. it gets about 1/5 way through which takes about an hour. i have read the General Specialist troubleshooting guide and it has not helped yet.
i am now rendering with Image Cache: Maximum RAM Cache Size at 10% and purging after every 20 frames (in secret prefs) - even if this works, the 3min render is estimated to finish in 9hrs. Does this sound normal, or acceptable? Is it possible i have a hardware deficiency? or something else lacking.
My PC specs are: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.40GHz; 4GB RAM; Geforce 8800 GTS. Running XP 32bit SP3; After Effects CS3 (fully updated). I have updated my graphics card driver (180.48) and my mainboard chipset driver. My memory settings are as they appear in the http://generalspecialist.com/2006/11/avoiding-after-effects-error-could-not.asp guide, & I've dropped max RAM cache to 10%. My disk cache size is 10000MB and set to an empty 75GB 10000RPM Raptor HDD.
The composition has 30 layers - mainly layers imported from PSDs and then animated with basic transform tools and some distortion effects (wave warp) to create 2D character animation. There are 6 pre-composed layers containing the same kind of PSD layers and animation. I try to render out to an uncompressed .avi in 720x576 with 15fps.
Even before I noticed this rendering problem, After Effects runs painfully slowly. the composition monitor takes ages to refresh, even in the Quarter quality view mode i am forced to work in. and over the course of the day, on 3 occasions - the PC lagged after scrubbing through the timeline, froze, then Blue Screen of Death'ed before rebooting before i could even read the blue screen error.
Please offer some assistance or ideas as to how i can move forward. I have tried to help myself with existing material online, but to no avail.

It sounds normal within the realm of AE, but how acceptable it really is, is another matter entirely. ;-) As suggested, scaling the sources in PS would be one way, another one would be to chop up the large documents into manual tiles and parent them together. Based on how AE works, only tiles visible within the comp frame will be loaded, which should make the whole process more streamlined. That's assuming they are not 3D layers that need to be fully visible at any given point, of course. Even then, rendering to an image sequence is still advisable in case of crashes... Depending on what you actually do, you may also want to find a different way of dealing with your distortion effects. They considerably expand/ dilate image buffers for processing, complicating the matter further.

Error when Opening After Effects CS6 Trial

are you using default video card settings? (if no, try using default)

I get an error message when I try open "After Effects CC", so I found this page on Adobe about "Lightroom" and I need completely this page, just with "After Effects CC" Error: "Unable to start correctly (0Xc000007b)"

Unexpected Error message appears every time I try to open After Effects.

A message saying Unexpected Error appears every time I try to open After Effects. I can't use the application as a result.

Okay, I'm using After Effects CS4. I am on a Mac OSX 10.7.3
The message "Unepected Error" appears and is then followed by another window which says "After Effects can't continue: unexpected failure during application set up."
This all began when I was working on a project and left it for about an hour. When I came back to my computer AE had crashed and these are the messages I get when I try to re-start it.
I've recently switched computers and transfered all the software from the old one to this new one.
I used to have this same problem when I used AE on my old mac but deleted some files, I think 'Preferences', from the AE folder in Applications and this sorted the problem out.
'Preferences' don't appear in the AE folder on my new Mac.

I cleared my computer but I managed to get After Effects CS6 back by looking in Windows old on my hard drive, every time I try and open AAE I get this error message "After Effects warning: An unknown Adobe Player Engine error has occurred. Scripting will be disabled."

What version of CS6 is it? 11.0.4? If not, try updating to it.
Why not simply reinstall from your original disk or download?

After Effect CS3 Freeze

Hi: Yesterday I bought and installed my After Effect CS3 professional. However, every time I start AE it freezes... can't do nothing...I have to force the AE to close. Anyone know what's causing this. I am using Windows XP with Adobe Premier CS3 Matrox RTX2. Please help if you know. thanks.

Hi Mylenium thank you for replying so quickly. When I launch AE in the splash screen while AE is loading...it says...3% of 2.6GB is used...then loads a bunch of things then displays in the splash screen cleaning-Matrox...and shortly after it loads and opens AE. As soon as I click the menu with my mouse it freezes and does not respond. I wait about a minute or two and it works for a few seconds then freezes again. here is the whole thing:
I have Matrox RTX2 LE and my graphic card is NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700. I am having major problems with this and I have to complete a project before December 28. Even installing this matrox is a nightmare since its very sensitive...where I have to install all programs and stuff and at the end install Matrox. Please let me know what I should do to resolve this issue.
