Error ora 12034 view log younger than last refresh

I have a materialized view and a log that produces the error ora 12034
I have tried to drop and recreate but there is no change in error what oracle says.
Then I tried to refresh complete
EXECUTE DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH('VM_IS_CALC','C')
But also there is no change in the shown error.
I can not see the error to synchronize the Log with the view
especially I will prevent that this error came in future.
Has anyone help? Thank you

  • ORA-12034: materialized view log on table younger than last refresh

    I am getting this error while creating the materialized view.
    This error seems to be refresh error.
    but when i have a mat view log already and running script to create the materialized view how can that happen?

    34MCA2K2, Google lover?
    I confess perhaps I gave a little info.
    View log was created before MV.
    It was the first initial load.
    No refresh failed.
    No DDL.
    No purge log.
    Not warehouse.
    There is no such behavior for MVs on another sites.
    P.S. I ask help someone who knows what's wrong or who faced with it or can me  follow by usefull link.
    P.P.S. It's a pity that there is no button "Useless answer"

  • ORA-12096: error in materialized view log

    Hi All,
    I had created a fast refresh materialized view. Log was also created.
    Now i dropped the mv and the logs.
    But now every time i update or insert into this customer table i get error message.
    ORA-12096: error in materialized view log on Customer
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    There are entries in the DBA_MVIEW_LOGS for customer table.
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
    What database version are you on?
    And do you have access to Metalink/My Oracle Support?
    Found this, by the way:
    ORA-12096: error in materialized view log on <table>
    If problems occur when you try to access a log file for a materialized view, the system issues an ORA-12096 error message which is followed by the actual error. If the ORA-12096 error message is accompanied by an ORA-00942 message, the problem may be due to an online reorganization that was only partially undone. In this case, you can drop the log file for the materialized view manually (after you have verified that it is no longer required):
    DROP MATERIALIZED VIEW LOG ON <table>;

    Hi,
    One of our ebusiness Apps 11510 instances has database that was
    upgraded from 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.4 with Database Vault.
    After that, we are getting an error:
    ORA-12096: error in materialized view log on "SCHEMA"."TABLE_NAME" ORA-01301:insufficient privileges
    Can you please let know what can be the reason. Which user is being checked for the privileges?
    Regards

    I am facing the same issue in one of our internal instances.
    Apps Environment has been upgraded from Database 9.2.0.6 to Database 10.2.0.4 with Database Vault. We started facing this issue and the same error after the upgrade. MLOG definition has not changed.
    What privilege is it expecting to be present for the schema.
    The definition of the MLOG is as given below
    LOG_TRIGGER = NULL
    ROWIDS = YES
    PRIMARY_KEY = NO
    OBJECT_ID = NO
    FILTER_COLUMNS = NO

    Sim,
    NOthing relevant is coming up over metalink for the erorr. Some non-required results are coming but I dnt think that they are helpful. The most nearest to your error is this thread over google,
    http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&u=http://blog.chinaunix.net/u/7121/showart_460192.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=8&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DORA-12096%2Berror%2Bin%2Bmaterialized%2Bview%2Blog%2Bon%2BORA-00942%2Btable%2Bor%2Bview%2Bdoes%2Bnot%2Bexist....%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-US:%26rlz%3D1I7GGLJ%26pwst%3D1

    That's a Microsoft Error coming from a Microsoft log, I can't be sure what's causing it, you need to consult Microsoft.
    Usually in their errors the service account that generated it (if by a service account) is one of the details or in the error message. You may need to stop running something with a service account...

  • Is it possible to create materialized view log file for force refresh

    Is it possible to create materialized view log file for force refresh with join condition.
    Say for example:
    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW VU1
    REFRESH FORCE
    ON DEMAND
    AS
    SELECT e.employee_id, d.department_id from emp e and departments d
    where e.department_id = d.department_id;
    how can we create log file using 2 tables?
    Also am copying M.View result to new table. Is it possible to have the same values into the new table once the m.view get refreshed?

    You cannot create a record as a materialized view within the Application Designer.
    But there is workaround.
    Create the record as a table within the Application Designer. Don't build it.
    Inside your database, create the materialized with same name and columns as the record created previously.
    After that, you'll be able to work on that record as for all other within the Peoplesoft tools.
    But keep in mind do never build that object, that'll drop your materialized view and create a table instead.
    Same problem exists for partitioned tables, for function based-indexes and some other objects database vendor dependant. Same workaround is used.
    Nicolas.

  • Getting Error ORA-01012: not logged on while connecting as sys

    We have just upgraded from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 9.2.0.5. Currently we have 2 databases in oracle 9i - db2 and scen. scen has been newly upgraded to Oracle 9i.
    When I set the ORACLE_SID to scen (as per entry in oratab), and connect to sqlplus using sys / as sysdba, it connects to an idle instance. and displays the error message ORA-01012: not logged on. I do not encounter this when I connect to the other database db2. There should be some settings which have been missed out.
    Could anybody help me out with this....

    I managed to get the settings corrected.Thanks anyway....

    we would like to have materialized view and materialized log file to refresh changes from underline table to mv view. please provide help on this .. thanks in advance

    It will be possible to create a Materialised view with up to 20 tables, but you have to understand the restrictions on complex Materialised views with regards to fast refresh.

    I did what Prabhu told me..But i recovered using backup controlfile and when i was asked to apply logs..i applied my oldest logs and it worked
    Like i have two groups with two members each
    I applied log1a.dbf and it said media recovery completee
    I opened the database But then it started giving me errors for undo tablespace
    I made another undo tablespace..tried dropping the old one but it did not permitted as it had some segments with status "needs recovery"
    Than i added this parameter in pfile with the correupted segment and than tried to drop the segment but it still did not permit
    corruptedrollback_segments =(corrupted_undo segment_name)
    Next what i did was I mounted the database, ran another session of media recovery and opened the databse using resetlogs
    Than i dropped the old undo and it went through successfully..
    If you think anything i did wrong than please advice..
    I hope this action plans helps you in case you come across same errors some day
    I would be very thankful if you can refer me a document of recovery which covers all kinds of recoveries and scenarios and commands too
    Thanks alot

  • Materialized View Log Error

    I keep getting a materialized view log error on a table that is not a master table, in fact there are no materialized views created on any tables in this database. The schema was imported from another but the export schema did not have any materialized views either from what I can see.
    Is there a data dictionary or something I can check?
    This is the error: ORA-12096: error in materialized view log on "Schema"."Table".
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    I get this error anytime I try to update or insert.
    Apparently it thinks it should be associated to a materialized view log, how can I disassociate it?
    Thanks

    Hey Justin, thanks for your reply. I did not use the real table names but the original error message did.
    There was a log when I queried the view. I dont know why there was one. We never created any materialized views in or from this database.
    I dropped the log. It took it out of the data dictionary so everything works again.
    Thanks for your reply.
