Error when install sap license with 'saplicense -install':
SAPLICENSE (Release 640) ERROR ***
    ERROR:   Can not set DbSl trace function
    DETAILS: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET) failed with return code 20
    RC-INFO: error loading dynamic db-library - check environment for:
             dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)
             DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll> (e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)
Could you gvie me any ieda?

Another way is to open a command prompt as nspadm and run saplicense -install
To do this follow the steps below
Click "Start" -> "Run..." and enter:
runas /u:nspadm cmd
Enter nspadm's password. A command prompt appears running as user nspadm. Now change to \usr\sap\nsp\SYS\exe\run and run
saplicense -install

I forgot to install SAP license, and kinda let it slip. Today when I come to office I see that my SAP J2EE Server won't run, as my license has expired. Naturally, I cannot login to Visual Administrator. I have tried to install license via command prompt, but I receive the following error:

How can I reformat my hard drive if erase and partition don't work in disk utility and I get an error when I try to erase and install from the Leopard install disk? I have had several kernel panics, but the volume shows up in startup disk.

I have had several kernel panics on my iBook G4; the panic message shows up just after the desktop appears. Although the startup volume shows up in Startup Disk, the installation disk reports an error when I attempt an erase and install. Disk utility is unable either to erase or partition the hard drive. The hard drive shows up in disk utility, but the startup volume doesn’t HELP!!!

Do you have the original system discs that came with the iBook when it was new?
Which exact iBook model is it?

Erasing the disc and installing Mac OS X 10.5 will result in loss of the other applications (such as the iLife applications) which came pre-installed on the iBook.

Unable to install SAP license

Hi,
We have just upgraded our SAP system from 4.6C to ECC6.0 and are now having problem trying to install SAP license.
The hardware key field is greyed out and we are not able to make any entry there and as a result, even if we can "import" the license, it is of no use.
Pls help.

Basically you can either perform at SAP ABAP level using SLICENSE or it's still possible to install license at OS level also.
If nothing works out, for now (until you find the fix) you even go with temporary license.

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my current EP6.0 SPS10 environment to SPS12. But right now, I can't even get the sapinst to go past this one error after entering the path to the Java Cryptography Extension. After entering the path and clicking next, I get the following error message.

We are currently running Portal on an HA Environment. The SCS instance was installed on host sapgrp. The CI instance was installed on wsawd03q. I am currently upgrading the CI instance. I've tried using the SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME but it did not work and I don't believe its relevant because my CI does not use a virtual host name.
Please assist with this issue. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
This is a known problem which I think will be fixed in future versions of sapinst.
What you need to do is to move the profile files of the other system from /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profiles , to a temporary location untill the installation starts. You can then start the installation and move the files back at the same time.
Basically, sapinst doesn't truely realize that you are installing on a virtual host, and therefore believes there is a conflict
PS you must use the SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME parameter if you have a virtual host.

Hello experts,
I have installed BOXI 3.1 SP3, Integration kit SP2, BW/BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0 on Windows 2008/64bit.
My goal is to import the roles into CMS from SAP BW/BI but getting the follwoing errors:
JCO.classInitialize(): Could not load middleware layer 'com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC'
JCO.nativeInit(): Could not initialize dynamic link library sapjcorfc
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\sapjcorfc.dll: Can't load AMD 64-bit .dll on a IA 32-bit platform.

Install the 32bit version of the Java connector. BOBJ is 32bit so even on 64bit Windows you need the 32bit version of the Java Connector.

Yes you can install java engine.Run sapinst from installation master cd and select only java engine installation.There will be check boxes abd you have to choose java engine.Also check the nwo4s installation guide.It will guide you throughly.Keep in mind to use correct jdk required for your kind of installatiom.

Why does BR*Tools return with the error, No Valid SAP license?

We are using BRTools 640 on HPUX and Oracle 9.2 Now we use BRTools on the other systems where Oracle resides, but when they got installed on this new system it creates the error: Invalid SAP license.
There is no SAP installed on any of the systems. I am coming into the middle of this and have sratched my head over it until I am now balder than I was before.
The ora<SID> user is there and so is the <SID>adm. The directories are ok with the correct rights and permissions. So what am I missing? I know it has to be something that I am missing. Any help out there?

No this did not resolve the issue. Here is what happen.
Implemented note 586618 and then completed the semophore part. That worked as is it should. Then tired a simple BRARCHIVE and this is what I got:

This is somewhat irritating because as you I though and you probably did also, note 584418 should have fixed it.
I have searched the OSS, but to no avail..so if you have any suggestions it would be appreciated. The really weird thing is it works on other systems. I think something is just missing and I am just too blind right now to see it.

I entered following information and I got a license key. But it is not 24 characters as document say. It is more than 100 character. How can I install this license Key

Following is the e-mail i received from SAP
Digitally signed license key from SAP NetWeaver AS 7.0
For upgrades with SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) 7.0 (ABAP) and above, SAP recommends requesting and installing the new digitally signed license key. The new digitally signed license key avoids extra database access and thus improves performance. Request the license key for an existing system from SAP NetWeaver 04s and above with the license type "standard." Install the license key as described in SAP Note 870871.
License is not 24 characters. It is more than 100 chatacters. Need Help.

Once the new license is installed the templicense will remain in the list as an old license and won't represent any risk... if its bothering you you can remove it by clicking on Edit -> Delete License in SLICENSE.
Also you can remove it at the command prompt by using saplicense -delete comman and follow the steps.

Need help. I'm trying to apply a new sap license, but unfortunately error messages occur.

I already logged in as SAP*. but still I cannot delete the existing license and i cannot install the new license.
The machine is new. I also tried to install the new license that we got from SAP.
Here's the error from CLI.

Need to identify SAP Netweaver with PI installed

Hi All,
I need to identify SAP component version in ABAP code. for that I am retrieving status of the system fr0m CVERS_TXT table.
but for identifying PI system it is returning u2018SAP Netweaveru2019 which is not valid because if it only Netweaver without PI installed then also it will consider SAP system as PI.
So need to figure out exact table or transaction from where i can get this information.
I need to differentiate the pure SAP netweaver system and SAP netweaver with PI.
Please guide on the same.

I checked SXMB_ADMIN transaction and on PI system it is showing role of busniess system as 'Integration server'. I checked the same on other system without PI it is showing role of busniess system as 'Not yet configured'.
So I want to just check what will be role of busniess system when PI is installed but basic configuration is not yet done.
