Error while activating ODS is not caught in the back ground job..

Hi All,
We have a back ground job to load data to ODS and to activate it..If there is any error while loading or activating the data, back ground job is going into loop instead of cancelling the job..As the job is going into loop we are unable to trace the error unless we cancel the job manually and checking it..We have switched off displaying any messages while doing the back ground job...also we can not set any time limit for the job as it always depends on the volume of the data.
My requirement is , back ground job must get cancelled if there is any error while loading the ODS..Can anybody suggest any idea on this..

Hi Uma,
A few hints for running and schedule and monitoring process chains:
- always schedule the process chain in tcode RSPC
- check the log in RSPC for error messages, or
- check BW monitor for the ODS concerned (tcode RSMO, tab Details)
if anything is not working fine, the status of the corresponding load will show you the errors, warnings ...
either in RSPC - log or RSMO.

There are only 3 info objects which i have created it and activated, only those i am pulling in the new ods but its throwing the same error what ever i do changes.
Is this issue is related to any authorization concerned?

yes contact basis is the right way
try to double click the DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL if you interest with more detail error info, by viewing the short dump (transaction st22 can be used), transaction sm21 may also helpful, if authorization is granted.

The problem is with ur Source Sys connection..
Above problems will be solved by restoring Source System Connection... Ask your Basis team to restore SS.

How did you maintain the assignment ? check again, the ID is filled ?
click 'suggest source system id' and save ?
similar problems were solved with that, try to check if you miss something

When I am trying to activate my newly created ODS , the following error is one among the 3-4 errors : "Transfer Structure prefix is not defined for T90CLNT090 system". I am using ECC 5.0:BW 3.5
I followed the steps provided in the following link, but not successfull.
Transfer structure prefix error
I dont find any entries in SLOGSYS(T90CLNT90) & in RLOGSYS(T90CLNT90)..
I need to resolve this error as soon as possible as we dont have the Basis guy at the moment. (as it is not letting me activate the newly created ODS to load the data in it)

Thanks again for ur time in relpying me. And Extremely sorry for my late response. I am not in the City these four days.
I guess whatever u have observed is merely correct.
I am in BW learner and I am using an IDES version which is installed in my PC called ECC 5.0 (which should resemble the features related to NetWeaver 2004 and I heard ECC 6.0 should be resembling NetWeaver 2004s)
So ECC 5.0 is a combined package which has SAP R/3BW 3.5mySAP Components etc..
I Login using SAPUSER as my user ID and 800 as my client with a certain password and enter into SAP environment and then I use RSA1 to enterinto BW Administartor Work Bench (we could fix a transaction to directly switch to that screen though soon after we login)
I did not do any system copy and I dont have a specific separate landscape system and as u said mine should be Development system as My Application Server's name is: SAP_DEV_00.
I have 3 logical Source Systems defined:
1. It is the main ID i.e., T90CLNT090 with 800 Client( which is defined at the time of Installation of ECC 5.0)
2nd and 3rd are the Flat file source system which are defined by myself for my flat file loading purposes.
Note: I have Database, Application and Presentation layers in only one CPU(i.e., in my PC alone)
And Mr. Cora plz let me know the Following:
1.The conventional Landscapes and their logical names (for Non-Netweaver versions like SAP R/3 till 4.6X versions and for Netweaver 2004 &2004s versions). and
2. Does the Different landscape environments eg; DEV, QA,PROD have same Logical Sorce systems defined?? or Different ones??
Hope now u have a good idea about what I have it with my PC.
As I am not able to activate my ODS .. I am not able to load my flat data or any data.. so that I could move on with my preparation!!
Any kind of help in this reagard is more than a help for me..

Error while activating ODS Object

Hi,
I have loaded the data from R/3 to a ODS Object and the activation of ODS failed due to the following errors as shown below..
-Value '20060 ' of characteristic 0CALQUARTER is not plausible
-Error when assigning SID (details in long text)
-Activation of data records from ODS object ZODS_02 terminated
-Error getting SID for ODS object ZODS_02
I could see that Calendar Quarter as 20060 in PSA. How should i get rid of this error. Any idea would be appreciated.

you are getting this calender qurter from SAP right... check in RSA3 fro the your Datasource. if you are getting same value like '20060'. you can do one thing... you can set 'No Update' in Transfer Rules. you can write a routine in Update Rules for populating the data for calender Week.
you can call some standard function modules or you can write a small routine. If you want to write a routine check this thread...Re: Date to Quarter
Possibilites:
1. updtae rules
2. if RSA3(PSA) shows the value of the Quarter as '20050', if it is custom extractor(Generic using FM) you can change this.
3. If it is Standard Extractor or Generic Extractor (using either view/table or Infoset) you can enhance this. you can do the same thing in SAP Side.

Error while Activating ODS 0FIGL_O02

Dear All.
i load the data from R/3 into my ODS 0FIGL_O02 it loads succesfull in PSA and then into ODS with green light, but when i try to activate the request it gives me following error.
Value 'As Per Nabeel' (hex. '41007300200050006500720020004E0061006200650065006C') of characteristic 0DOC_HD_TXT contains invalid cha.
Now where is the invalid character in the value, on top of that i am not able to find that record by search in Document Header Field in New Data Table and also in PSA i am trying like this.
in Document Header Text i provide the value As Per Nabeel, and also Nabeel but not able to found the record so i can see what is the problem.
what i can see the error log is the Data Package number is there any way to found the detail for this record.
How to found this record in PSA or in New Data table as per the value specified.
in RSKC i have given the following value ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX.
Please guide me to resolve the following issue.

Error while activating queue XBTI*

Hi All,
When I triggered the message i have seen the message in Green Color in MONI.
there by i went to SMQ2 and have seen the message that is strucked in the queue XBTI0001.
After that i have deleted the queues from SMQ2 and De-registered the queues and Registered the queues again. in SXMB_ADM
There by i Activated the Queues in the same screen.
then i got the Error as Error while activating queue XBTI
What could be the problem with this activation

Every thing has been followed as explained in the Blog.
I took the message ID of the Successfuly processed message from MONI and when i execute the report.
Each and every time The message is comming to MONI with GREEN Status .
Then if i goto SMQ2 , ther i can see the queu with the description saying that SYSFail
and if i manually trying to release the Queue means it is saying Running and immediately turning into the same SYSFail state
The queue is not at all getting Free.
This is the problem

Hi BI gurus,
I am installing the business content for the sales overview infocube with the grouping option data flow before and install in back ground option. The back ground job is cancelled with the error msg"STDO: Log could not be written on output device T" and at the end it shows ABAP/4 processor: LOAD_PROGRAM_LOST error.
Can any one give solution for this. This is very urgent,

Error while activating multiple requests in ODS.

Hi All,
I get a "ORA-12801: unable to extend temp segment" error while activating an ODS. The problem is I selected 7 requests for activation and my Basis guy tells me he cannot add any more files to the temp tablespace.
I guess the solution would be to re-activate one request at a time. However now the dependency has been enforced between the requests and I cannot activate a single without selecting the other requests.
I even, subsequently, selected "Do not condense option..." AND the "Process Request serially" options. I get the same error.
Is there a ABAP report that can turn off this inter request dependency ?

Dinesh: I looked at the note. It applies to oracle systems < 9.2.0.6. We are at 9.2.0.6. The paramter COMPNOMERGE is missing in RSADMIN table. The note however is right on the money for the problem I am experiencing.

Error coming while activating ODS

Hi,
While loading data in datasource there is a field item text in which a small box is coming due to which error is coming while activating ODS. When i check line item of datasource it shows me '#' instead of that box.
So i wrote a code in ECC to remove special characters. But still it is not deleting that small box and sending me error in ODS.
The data comes same in the table also with that small box.
Please tell me how to solve that problem as i cant do it manually as there are a lot of records. Do tell me how to remove it.

Actually all the invalid characters in the error message are displayed by small square box only. So you might not get which actual character it is.
Check the below given article for removing special character. In this article they have mentioned one standard FM to remove the characters which you can use in update rule or transformation for filtering invalid characters.
