Errors installing and uninstalling JDK and JRE 5.0 update 6

I recently removed some older versions of java as they take up alot of space.. now wondering if i should have.
I uninstalled all version fine, leaving only the update 6 for both JDK and JRE. Now when i try to compile in Jcreator i get the error message:
'Error : Invalid path, "C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\bin\javac.exe" -source 1.5 -classpath "C:\Program Files\Xinox
Software\JCreatorV3LE\MyProjects\Chapter07_Listing03" -d C:\Program"
Files\Xinox "Software\JCreatorV3LE\MyProjects\Chapter07_Listing03
@src_chapter07_listing03.txt"'
I have no javac file in the directory.I did before i unstalled the older updates
I am getting a windows installer error when trying to install JDK 5.0 update 6, windows installer works when trying to uninstall though. When i try to remove JDK 5.0 update 5, it tells me i all ready have this version installed, and to uninstall through my add/remove utility which is what i am doing! Then if i click ok i get: 'Fatal error during installation' This also occurs when trying to remove update 6. I also get problems with my JRE 5.0 update 6. When trying to uninstall i get the message 'error applying transforms, verify paths are valid' I cannot get rid of these!. It seems to be interfering/linked with installing them aswell.
PLEASE HELP ME-i just want to compile
Thank you

  • I installed Chrome and uninstalled it, and Firefox will only open in Safemode after this.

    I installed Chrome, then I uninstalled chrome, and now Firefox only opens in safe mode. I have XP, and Firefox just updated itself to 3.6.8 despite the safe mode. I still use it functionally, but it's annoying. Yes, I am sure it is in safe mode, because the little box that says it is in safe mode pops up offering to disable things. It does not affect how Firefox runs at all (well, oddly, FF seems more stable, but it might have been the upgrade, too).
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I installed Chrome.

    i deleted the rdf and now the first window only (and any tabs in it) are maximised. i found this in the rdf
    <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
    screenX="4"
    screenY="4"
    width="1008"
    height="461"
    sizemode="Normal" />
    i tried changing normal to maximised; no effect. either i need also to change the numbers (to match a maximised window) or ff ignores this. i want to be able to open different sites in different windows, and not have to maximise them manually. ff never used to be broken, why break this? what possible security flaw was fixed by screwing up ff to never open maximised unless u hack it or delete certain config files?

  • Error installing or uninstalling iTunes 8.1

    I had iTunes 8.0 installed and running successfully for a while and went to upgrade to 8.1. Every time I try and upgrade it, completely re-install it, r even uninstall it, i get the error "The installer has encountered and unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2324." I e-mailed apple support and got the worst feedback I have ever gotten from anyone. All they did was send me a link to the forums. Anybody know how to fix this?

    If I use the control panel to uninstall ITunes it also asks for a CD-ROM.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
    After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
    Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
    When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • A Dell Technician told me my Firefox 3.6.17 was corrupted and uninstalled it and Installed 4.0. Now I lost all my sub-folder Bookmarks and some Folder Bookmarks. How to I retreive them?

    I had about 100 Bookmark Folders and 500 to 600 Bookmark sub-folders inside the Bookmark Folders on Firefox 3.6.17. When I signed off my Windows XP system on Thursday the Firefox home Page was fine. When I logged on to the Firefox Homepage the next day the page changed and I was unable to change it back, the "add Apps" had no effect and I could not customize the page. My home page is google com ig dell using Mozilla Firefox as my Browser so I called Dell to get help. The Dell technician played with it for about 1 1/2 hours and then decided Firefox was corrupted and he would have to load a new copy. He uninstalled the old 3.6.17 and installed 4.0. I specifically told him I had lots of Bookmarks and could not lose them. He assured me it would be No Problem. When I checked after he finished, I had lost all my bookmarks. The Dell Technician could not retrieve the Bookmarks and had to go to a Dell Datasafe Backup that I did. He could only retrieve a small portion of my Bookmarks. It will take me weeks to build these Bookmarks again. I can't believe these are all gone from my hard drive. Is there anything I can do to retrieve them and how can I prevent this in the future.

    I, too had my book marks disappear when I upgraded to FF 4.0
    I am now back and enjoying FF 3.6.17 (my original) yet I am still
    without my book marks and am floundering trying to recoup.
    Any help appreciated. If unable to see my book marks in the near
    future I will definitely jump ship. It's too bad that FF people have
    created this problem. I am mystified and disgusted with their actions.

  • Error installing trials of photoshop and illustrator CC

    When trying to install Photoshop and Illustrator trials I get the error message 'Error writing to temporary file location' the error code is (-70)
    I am running windows 8.1

    Pcolly2509 this is a different error than I have observed before.  Since it is discussing a failure to write to the temp file location then it would occur your current User account does not have sufficient permissions to write to this directory.  Please try creating a new administrator account and seeing if you face the same difficulty.  You can find details on how to create a new User account in steps 7 of Troubleshoot unexpected behavior | User account-specific | Adobe software | Windows 7, Vista - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-unexpected-behavior-user-account-2. html.  The process is going to be the same for Windows 8.1.

  • Error installing Final Cut Studio and iLife on Leopard

    When I upgraded to Leopard, I decided to entirely wipe my boot drive since I was experiencing problems with certain applications (ie: Final Cut Pro) in Tiger. Therefore I've been re-installing all of my applications in Leopard. I've been having some problems though, when I try to install Final Cut Studio, I get this message after a while of it trying to install the Apple Soundtrack Pro loops disc:
    http://salsunproductions.com/misc/fcsinstallproblem.jpg
    I also get a similar error when trying to install iLife 06.
    The strange thing is that I am able to run the Applications fine with the exception that all my Final Cut Studio applications don't remember their serial number and my name/organization. I get this message every time I boot up a Final Cut Studio Application (this is the original Final Cut Studio, PPC)

    As for the disc install, if you're sure you're disc isn't just scratched, then I guess there's nothing to do but wait for 10.5.1 and see what happens.

  • Need to check JDK and install it using Swing

    Hi,
    I need to develop a swing component where it has to automatically check in the users machine whether JDK is installed, if not it has to install the current version of JDK. Can any give some idea on how to move forward on this or any code would be helpful.
    Thanks

    Velasquez wrote:
    I need to develop a swing component where it has to automatically check in the users machine whether JDK is installed, ..Why the JDK, as opposed to a JRE?
    Also, why no [Duke stars|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SunForums/Duke+Stars+Program+Overview] offered for this thread? Is it not important to you?
    Velasquez wrote:
    ..if not it has to install the current version of JDK. Can any give some idea on how to move forward on this or any code would be helpful.An earlier reply mentioned how to get the Java version for the currently running JRE. The [java.library.path, java.ext.dirs & sun.boot.class.path|http://pscode.org/prop/all.html?prop=java.library.path%2Cjava.ext.dirs%2Csun.boot.class.path]* properties might help you determine if that JRE is part of a JDK. For most developers running a Java application, that would be the case.
    * I checked those properties in an application and each one mentioned 'JDK' somewhere, but that will probably never appear in any applet.
    OTOH, I took an entirely different, and much simpler, route when developing the STBC. It is a compiler that requires the tools.jar of the JDK - which is not normally available to applets or webstart applications. Since this tool was aimed at developers, and they can get a JDK free from Sun, I simply offer them a file chooser to browse to the JDK they have already installed.
    There was another option that I considered and rejected as 'too much work'. Go to the root directory of the JRE (having got the path from properties) and then go to the parent directory. If both JDKs and JREs are installed, they should hopefully all be under the one directory tree. Then look at the file names for each directory listed, searching for jdk and the string that determines version. Very hackish, but if you can implement it, I guess it would serve for 95% of the time (though I would prompt the user about installing a new JDK and instead offer them a file chooser in case their JDK is hidden somewhere else).
    Don't be too afraid to pop a dialog to ask the user for help. After all, if the user is running the program, and it asks them to 'help it to help them', it is not as if they are going to refuse. Most developers (for example) would prefer to be asked than risk having some 'automagic' tool go off and make wrong decisions that they cannot control.

  • Problems installing and uninstalling Flashplayer 64bit 11.1.102.55. Please Help?

    Hi Adobe Forum.
    I am having serious difficulties installing the latest version of flash player (which apparently I HAVE TO install). I 'click here' to download, click 'run' and it starts installing. Then tells me to close Internet Explorer (which I do) and everything that could be using Flashplayer. I then click retry and nothing happens at all. I cancel the download, checked my control panel and looked at my list of programs, it hasn't installed properly. I then go to uninstall programs and Flashplayer 64bit 11.1.102.55 is there. I try and uninstall it and again it tells me to close Internet Explorer. Again I close everything down and AGAIN nothing happens. I have read and done all the possible problems with settings, etc, but nothing changes. I'm not paying Adobe for a product update that they have imposed on me. I just want to watch videos. Can someone please help me. My computer is a Samsung Windows 7 64bit and I am using Internet Explorer 64bit. NB. I have just purchased Norton Internet Security. Could a setting in that be causing the issue?
    Thank you!
