Errors - memory to fault?

If you didn't read my previous thread, I turned my PC on after a few days away, and the windows xp loading screen ran continously, and when I booted to safe mode it said that there was an 'Unknown Hard Error' and that there was corruption over vital system records and files which were stopping it booting.
Also, (sorry if this thread is getting a bit long ) but when installing games on the SATA drive I get error messages about the Component Transfer (while files are being copied) these errors occur when the installer program is unpacking .cab files. I tried the games on other PCs and they were fine, I tried a different CD-ROM drive on the pc I am using, and still got the same error. So I took out my SATA drive, put in an IDE 40gb drive with windows xp and got the same errors when installing games. I looked in the event viewer, and at the time of these errors, it reports 20 or so 'Bad Blocks'. As I said, I tried different CD-Rom drives, hard drives, and the games install fine elsewhere, so have a theory to what the problem is...:
My motherboard (KT600 FISR) supports 333 FSB Max. I am running my CPU (Athlon 2600+) at 166MHZ, which is the max. Now, I have 1 X 256 MB DDR ram module. The module is PC3200, which is designed to work with 200MHZ (400FSB) CPUs and Motherboards. The ram module is made by Crucial Technologies, and when I ran a bootable disk that had a program checking for memmory errors, the program found 32 errors.
Are these errors important, and should I be using PC2700 ram?
Could someone please help me out?
Thanks & Happy New Year
Sam

  • Adobe form Error "Memory protection fault in OLE container control"

    Hi,
       I am getting the error "Memory protection fault in OLE container control" while trying to open the layout tab of adobe forms.
      I am getting this error for all the adobe forms.Please let me know the solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Nuthan.

    I can reproduce this error consistently.. This is how: Install Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
    As soon as I remove SQL 2008 the error went away. Adobe LiveCycle Designer was invoked via OLE2 interface. Apparently SQL Server 2008 (as in my case or some other applications in your case) modified the way OLE2 behaves and therefore causes this error.

    Request to help if some body knows about the cause.

  • Internal error: "memory.cpp", line 593 with PXI 8175

    Hi,
    I have created a program with Labview RT 7.0 which makes acquisition, storage and display of data with PXI controllers 8175.
    I used Datasocket for the data display on a deported computer.
    Because of the number of the Datasocket tags used, instead of sending values all the time, I'm sending value for the deported computer only if the user needs to see it.
    For example : if the user needs to see data, so only Datasocket tags for data display will be active, and if the user needs to see parameters values, so only parameters datasockets tags will be active. And, if the display program is in "standby" mode, almost all datasocket aren't active.
    So when the user needs to see data values, he opens the data values window of the display program, and then, the datasockets tags for data value are now active, but : sometimes at this moment, the PXI stops with an "internal error "memory.cpp" line 593"!
    The only solution is to manually reboot the PXI, the programmatically reboot doesn't work in this case of error. But it is far away from the displaying computer.
    The error happens regularly after a 2 weeks period of standby. So I though about a memory overflow, I checked all the arrays, and none of them is growing to the infinity.
    If someone knows about this problem, I will be very happy to learn about how to get rid of it!!!

    Hi Rob, Hi Matthieu,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I found in the database many reply about this error, but none of them were helpfull for me.
    I tryed your link to the knowledge data base, but the error described there is for dll association in LabView and interface nodes.
    I didn't used any interface node in my code.
    The problem is that I cannot test my program on the PXI because I don't have access to it rightnow (only by remote desktop, and with a 56k modem..)
    Let me give you a part of this huge code.
    I suspect this part of the code to be the one which create the problem, but it's not sure.
    If you find something obviously wrong, tell me!

  • Error capturing SOAP fault for Sync Messages

    Hi
    We have a Sync interface which makes a Proxy call from ECC to PI and then PI makes Soap Sync call to Web application. We are having issues when handling Exceptions. Sender is getting misleading errors in response, even though they are application errors the proxy sender is getting error like MappingObjectNotFound.
    When debug the PI system, PI is truncating error info when it return the reponse.
    Below is the scenario of Synchronous interface:
    ECC(Proxy) -> PI(Soap Receiver Adapter) -> MasterDataApp-(Webserver)
    Below is the actual response from Webserver (Extracted via TCPGW sniffer):

    Thanks,
    laxman

    Hi Laxman,
    SOAP Adapter cannot handle fault responses. I understand your issue. You even want to send the errorneous response from the Webservice as a payload back to the sender. But because of application error from Webservice, you are getting an error in the response message (Mapping Not found). SOAP Adapter cannot handle application error (i.e you will not get the errorneous response in form of payload) . For details please read below:
    The receiver adapter expects a SOAP message as response. For synchrnous calls, a successful response should be returned with HTTP 200. In this case, the content of the SOAP body will be returned to the caller as the response payload. When some error occurs, the SOAP message may contain the SOAP fault element. In this case, when the fault detail element is not empty, its content will be returned as the fault payload in an application error message. For others, a system error message will be returned to the caller.
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
    <SOAP:Envelope
    xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

    </e:myfaultdetails>
    In order to send the erroneous response as a payload to the sender, you should develop flow in below manner:
    ECC(Proxy) -> PI --> ECC(Proxy)
    In PI make a SOAP lookup. The response of the SOAP lookup will contain the response given by the WebService (it can be a vaid response or an application error in WebService). Now map this response to the proxy...In this way you can handle the application error msgs from webservice..
    I hope this helps you...

  • Collect Memory Hard Faults with SCOM

    Hi
    Is it possible collect the Memory Hard Faults in SCOM. I cannot find any Counter in the PerfMon I can use. Eventually it's possible per a custom WMI Script.
    Reason: Detect Performance bottlenecks on virtual infrastructure
    Any Advice?

    Memory\Page faults/sec  - Total page fault rate, including hard and soft faults
    Memory\Transition faults/sec - Soft fault rate. Subtract this from the above counter to get the hard fault rate.

    Did some searches on this but can't seem to find anything
    definitive. I have an ASP.NET Web Service that I have test via IE

  • Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547

    Hello,
    I am using LV 2009 and I am also getting an error as follows:
    =======================================================
    Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547
    LabVIEW version 9.0.1
    You will lose any unsaved work. For assistance in resolving this problem, please relaunch LabVIEW, or contact National Instruments.
    =======================================================
    I get this error when I start executing steps on TS 4.2.1 as well as when I do "Unload All Modules" in TS. Please find the attched logs. Further, I could not run anything in TS and need to restart the PC to re-run the sequence after everytime this error occurs.
    We have transited through LV 8.0, 8.2, 8.5 and now 2009 over past 4 years for our project and this is the first time I could see this error.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Adding on to Pritam's post:
    For the earlier "Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547" , we found that a couple of our dll's which were developed in LV 8.5.1 had not been recompiled in LV2009. After recompiling each of them in LV2009, and then running the same sequences in TestStand,this error vanished.
    But now again we're seeing this error, and that too only on  3 PCs systems out of 5 PCs!
    The same installer has been installed on all 5 sytems (after removing the earlier installers and running MSI Blast.exe them).
    The error now appears again, only when we try to exit TestExec.exe and another tool built in LabVIEW.
    So everything works fine and tasks are performed,etc, but when we close the window or try the exit that program, the "Fatal Internal Error: "Memory Manager.cpp", line 547" pops up.
    If we say "OK" to it, the window closes, but the Task is seen still running in the Task Manager and has to be manually terminated (End Task).
    Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

  • "Fatal internal error:"memory.cpp",line 593"

    I need some help.
    Can some please explain what i am doing wrong here. i have created a Dll from a LV 7.0 vi. The header file looks something like this:
    typedef struct {
    long dimSize;
    double elt[1];
    } TD2;
    typedef TD2 **TD2Hdl;
    typedef struct {
    double f0;
    double df;
    TD2Hdl magnitude;
    } TD1;
    void __cdecl Spectrum(double freq, double amp, TD1 *Spec);
    And i have the following code where i allocate memory and attempt to call 'Spectrum':-
    TD1 *Power;
    double frequency=10, amplitude=1;
    Power = (TD1 *) malloc(sizeof(TD1));
    (*Power).magnitude = (TD2**)malloc(sizeof(TD2));
    *(*Power).magnitude = (TD2*)malloc(5000*sizeof(TD2));
    (*Power->magnitude)->dimSize = 5000;
    for (i=0; i<500;
    i++) {
    (*Power->magnitude)->elt[i] = 0;
    Spectrum(frequency, amplitude, Power);
    I keep getting Fatal internal error: "memory.cpp", line 593" when it tries to call Spectrum. I believe i have allocated memory correctly although i may be wrong. (I was getting 'exception' errors before). The VI i used to create the Dll contains a basic 'Function Generator' (sine wave) and a 'Power Spectrum'.
    I have looked at the Knowledge base and dll examples that come with LV 7.0 and have tried setCINArray and NumericArrayResize but have not had any luck. It seems like the documentation is for LV 6.0 and 6.1.
    Has anybody seen this or have any idea why i am getting this?
    Thanks

    It looks to me like you are constructing arrays to pass to LV using
    malloc, instead of the labview.lib functions for creating or resizing LV
    array handles.
    You should refer to the manual on Calling External code for details on
    the construction of an array.

  • Upgrade 3.1- 7.0: internal error Workbook storage fault (read/open)

    Dear all,
    after upgrading an 3.1 (SP12) BW-system to BI 7.0 (SP15) the following error occures when we want to open existing BEx workbooks (in the BEx Analyzer 3.x):
    <b><internal error> Workbook storage fault (read/open)</b>
    <b>We have found out, that this refers only to those BW workbooks being created in BW 2.x and not modified ever since. Thus this actually seems to be an 2.x->7.0 issue.</b>
    Scope of our projekt it not the use of any new BI function, we are just upgrading the system.
    Unfortunately some (but not all) workbooks do not run any more now. Checking existing SAPnotes has not helped yet unfortunately.
    I saw very similar problems on this forum, if there is a solution, please provide it to us urgently.
    THANKS for helping
    Frank

    Hello Venkat,
    thanks for helping. Since I work with SAP_ALL authorization, I do not think this issue is related to missing auth. objects. The error message desribed above is withoutan number-ID, that´s why it is different than those described in the mentioned notes.
    It definitely is related with the upgrade, as I can open those "corrupt" workbooks originating from BW 2.x in the productive system (still on BW3.1).
    Any more suggestions?? Who remembers the 2.x - 3.x upgrade of BEx workbooks?
    Thanks, Frank

    "Memory write not possible (Real-Time Agent)
    Memory read not possible (Real-Time Agent)"
    Without profiling the VI works on the MCB2400. And profiling also works if I try very simple examples.
    bye & thanks

    Hi Amin, Alex,
    I noticed this issue had been open for some time, so I decided to post directly to save time.

     Diagnosis: So apparently, this behavior has nothing to do with the profiler. The culprit is the Advanced Analysis SubVI call (Mean.vi) in BB.vi.
    Mean.vi has a call library function node inside it and this CLN is configured to run in its own thread (labVIEW spawns a new thread for each call). Probably due to bad thread management on the ARM (in this case), this call causes a memory violation.
    Solution:Turn off the "Run in any thread" setting on the CLN as shown in the attached screenshot - change it to "Run in UI Thread". For good measure also turn off reentrancy on Mean.vi (second screenshot)
