Errors Sharing Calendar in Outlook 2010

Hello,
I have an issue with sharing calendars to someone that is in the same Exchange org on Exchange 2013 CU3 when using Outlook 2010. When trying to share I get this error message:
"Error while preparing to send sharing message"
The exchange org that I'm trying to connect to is published from behind a TMG deployment, and effectively everyone is an external user. I've tried doing a wireshark packet capture at the time when I get the error, and from the information I see, it looks
like its trying to connect to the right target. At the same time, if I watch the TMG logs as I'm generating this error with a filter to see all IP from the address of my connecting location) I see no attempt to connect to TMG at all.
I've checked in the event log of the work stations I'm using (tried more than one) and I get an event ID 300, which basically just states the same message as above, with P1 value of 301931, P2 value of 14.0.7015.1000, P3 value of 634y and P4 value of
0x80004005.
I've found an article for this exact same issue that applies to Outlook 2007, so I'm wondering if it's basically the same issue, but Microsoft haven't spotted or updated the article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2836889
I've found this article (and more) but none do the trick for me:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_26529686.html
I've also seen one that asks to check whether the DB is corrupt and to check autodiscover, but an exchange connectivity test against my domain comes back all green. I've also tried to make the same check with the same client against an Office 365 mailbox
and Outlook 2010, and I do not get the error there (guess it might be because they're using different authentication mechanism). I've tried a few things (patching Office 2010 up to the latest SPs and updates, updating the client with .Net updates, installing
.Net 4.5.1( but none work for me.
I've also found that this is not an issue if using Outlook 2013.
Does anyone have ideas on what might be the cause of this?
Thanks

One thing that I'm sometimes seeing when I hit the send request from Outlook 2010 is a line in the TMG log that indicates it's going to
http://domainname/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml (where 'domainname'
is the real domain name in use). We have a rule for this with a /* path that directs traffic off to another set of servers not related to email at all. I think I'm going to try adding a rule above this one with /autodiscover/* as the only path,
and do a deny/redirect to the full autodiscover address.
Incidentally, if I run a wireshark capture when doing this from an Outlook 2010 client, I see that its trying to hit the HTTP address of my TMG server, but I see no traffic at the TMG server (not from the log view anyway). If I do the same from an Outlook
2013 client, I see wireshark trying to hit the same HTTP listener address, but at TMG I see an EWS lookup.
I'll update when I've tried the new TMG rule.

    Hi Cmrl,
Does it happen when you create an appointment via OWA?
Does it happen when you create an appointment via Outlook 2003?
Do you have any mobile device?
How many users encountered the issue, all users or some user?
At first, I suggest you recreate outlook profile.

  • Sharing Calendar in Outlook 2010

What is the maximum number of users that I can share my outlook calendar with?

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to share the calendar in Outlook 2010: -
There is no purposeful limit on the number of delegates that you can assign to a mailbox. At some lower layer than the feature (the MAPI layer, the Name Service Provider
Interface (NSPI) call used to add the send on behalf right, etc.), You will eventually hit some limit that will, prevents adding the nth delegates, but that no. is beyond the recommended practical limit.
The Outlook product team historically  has tested four (4) delegates as the recommended max. for a mailbox. This recommendation is based on the practical usability
for the calendar than any performance or size limitations. More than 4 delegates, create complexity and this makes managing the calendar untenable.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.

  • Outlook 11 for Mac sharing Calendar with Outlook 2010 for Windows

I have an Executive user that has a Macbook with Outlook 2011 that shares his calendar with his Administrator using Outloook 2010 for Windows (Exchange 2010).  Exec changed his categories last week.  The changes do not appear on Admin's calendar.
Exec is sharing calendar with Full / Publisher privs.
When I share my calendar with Admin she sees categories, and colors.  Is dynamic, I make a change she immidietly sees it.
When Admin looks at her OWA she does not see changes on Exec's shared calendar.
    Help!  Thanks.  -F.F.F.

Seems this an Exchange-Outlook 2011/2010 mix scenario. Seems Admin even cannot to see the categories changed through OWA, I think the categories have still not updated to mailbox from the Executive user's Outlook 2011. Does it happen when the user and
admin share their calendar with categories in one platform, I mean Outlook in Windows in both side or using OWA?

  • Outlook 2010/Error sharing Calendar: Error while preparing to send sharing message

Everyone that is connected to this exchange is receiving an error when they attempt to share a calendar in outlook 2010.  We are using Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010.  The error reads:  Error while preparing to send sharing message.
Any ideas on a reason why this would be happening?

I think it may  be caused by the following reasons.
    1. Auto Discover service or outlook 2010 issue
To verify it ,you could try  sharing calendar via  OWA?
For how to manage Auto discover Service
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/aa995956.aspx
    2.Mailbox corruption issue

    3. Restrictive sharing permission assigned on the calendar.
Could you please verify if it is caused by your  sharing policies? If the User chooses to change the permission
to the following: "Anyone can view and  search for this Calendar on Office online.” You should be able to send
    them without issues.

  • Cannot share calendar in Outlook 2010

I am trying to share a calendar in outlook 2010 using an exchange account running on SBS2011
When I try to allow sharing it merely responds with cannot share calendar without any error code

    Hi,
First please let me know what steps you performed in Outlook 2010 to share the calendar.
Even though there's no error code, please let me know the exact error message so that I can start researching on this issue.
We can also try to share the calendar on OWA to check if there's any error message.

  • Is there a way to automatically update events in the Outlook 2010 calendar when adding events in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010?

I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. I have synced my Outlook calendar with my iPhone using the iCloud Control Panel. This is great, but when I add an event in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010 and subsequently send out invitations to the event, I get the following error:
"This meeting is not in the Calendar folder for this account. Responses to this meeting will not be tallied. Do you want to send anyway?"
I select "Yes" and the invite goes out. However, when invitees receive the email invitation, there should be 2 emails - one from Outlook and one from iCloud. The iCloud invite does not always come through. If the invitee responds to the Outlook email invite, it does not show up on the iCloud Calendar.
Is there a reason that the iCloud email is not always sent or is there a way to some how update the Windows Outlook Calendar when adding events in the iCloud Calendar through Outlook?

I have just discovered this problem as well.
    Very annoying!
Now all off my meetings entered in Outlook on my desktop PC are not syncing with my ipad and iphone.
If I had known this would have happened I would never have downloaded Version 2.0 of the icloud control panel.
Does anyone know how I can get the earlier version back?

  • Calendars in Outlook 2010 won't sync with my iPhone 3gs

Since I installed iOS 4.3 in my iPhone 3GS I cannot get iTunes 10.4 to sync my Calendars in Outlook 2010 with my iPhone.  I have not changed any settings and it has worked without problems for the last year until I installed iOS 4.3
Can anyone help me sort this out.

Here's what I've discovered: Outlook has two "versions," one for iCloud and one that is an Outlook data file ("My calendar"). You can check a box in Outlook to enable either of them (go to the Home tab and expand the navigation pane). The iPad does not sync with the Outlook data file. Anything entered there has to be manually copied to the iCloud version of Outlook in order to sync with iPad. So, to sync with iPad you have to uncheck "My calendar" in Outlook and then check "iCloud" and use that version of Outlook. But when I use the iCloud version, Outlook will not accept appointments sent to me by clients. It also screws up my communication with clients in other ways. So using the iCloud version of Outlook does not work for me.
I've discovered a third-party software that seems to solve this issue: Code Two Sync for iPad. You can Google it for reviews, the download link, etc. I downloaded and installed it and it immediately copied (synced?) all the appointments in the Outlook data file version of Outlook ("My calendar") to the iCloud version and synced them with my iPad. There were a bunch of duplicates, but I think there's some way to fix that. However...it also crashed Outlook on my computer (I have an older computer that is having issues). So I needed to uninstall it. I repeat, this is because my computer has been having other issues, I don't think it is the software's fault. I may try it again when I have more time to troubleshoot. Anyway, you might try this software and see if it works for you.

  • How to open shared calendar in Outlook for Mac 15 (Office 365)?

A colleague in my organisation has created a calendar in a different version of Outlook and shared it with me, but I am unable to access it. What am I missing?
    I have tried:
    Select Calendar
    Click Open shared calendar
Search for the person's name. They appear in the list.
Select and click open. I get a popup saying "Outlook was redirected to the server secure.autodiscover.... to get new settings for your account (email address of person I selected). ..."
Tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". The same popup appears.
Again I tick "Always use my response for this server" and click "Allow". I get a popup saying "Outlook cannot open the folder. You do not have permission to open this folder. Contact (sharer's name) for permission."
Also, this colleague has triggered a share invitation email.
This contains an XML file that I cannot open with Outlook.

    Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.

  • Can't sync my calendar on outlook 2010 with icloud

    Hi,
    Hope somebody can help me.
I am trying to sync my Calendar from outlook 2010 to icloud to ensure I can access my calendar on the move.  I need to be able to update on my phone and it will appear on outlook, AND enter in to outlook and appear on my phone.  Is that possible both ways??
I have windows 7 and have installed i cloud, i have ticked the share calendar box and recieved this message "outlook has been setup to use icloud for your calendars and tasks"
Now looking at all the tutorials I should now be able to go to my calendar and see a icloud tab......unfortunately I do not get one??
Can anyone please explain how I get this to work as it is driving me mad.
    Thanks!!!

I had a similiar problem, with my multiple devices.  I open iTunes and when all devices were connected I went to the info section on each device.  Under info I checked the sync calandars. Under that I click all calanders. I then did the apply in low right. I then did the sync function and it fixed it for me.  You have to do this for each device.
I also checked the device (ipad,Iphone) themselves and change the calander selection to NO Catagory.  Hope this helps.

  • Unable to sync contacts and calendar to outlook 2010 or iphone 5

I work in IT and several of our clients are have trouble syncing contacts and calendar to outlook 2010 or iphones.
I have uninstall itunes completely from the computer, deleted the backup and clear the sync history nothing seems to be working.
Is there are problem with the latest itunes and if so when will the fix be release???

This is exactly what I am dealing with. Blackberry Link will work great for awhile and then something happens and I can not sync my contacts. I have spent many hours and days trying to fix this to no avail. BB support has been great but I still go through a long process each time. This week I finally gave up and started using the Microsoft Hotmail Outlook Connector since my company does not offer Active Sync or Exchange. It works flawlessly. I would dedfinitely check it out. If you swith to a Widows Phone or Android this is one of the options they recommend you use.
In a nutshell Link is awful and BB should be ashamed of the product they put on the market. I will only use it for syncing pictures and documents. Good luck!

  • My iphone 6plus won't sync my calendar from outlook 2010.  How can I fix this?

My iphone 6plus won't sync my calendar from Outlook 2010.  How can I make this work again?

If you put information into one calendar and it synced to the other phone, then it sounds as if you are using iCloud, not Outlook. You need to check that. When I asked about the type of calendar, I was asking if this was your own Outlook, or were you using a work Exchange calendar. If you don't know the difference, I would say it is probably personal. If you look at calendars in the bottom center, are there more than one calendar listed? Do you see an ICloud calendar? Do you see an Outlook calendar?

  • Duplicate calendars in Outlook 2010 after migration from Outlook 2003 using USMT 4.1

    Hi
We have setup where we migrate computers from Windows XP and Outlook 2003 to Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 using USMT 4.1 and task sequence and SCCM.
We are currently experiencing that some users are having calendars in Outlook 2010 duplicated after the migration has been performed. The duplicated calendar cannot be deleted. The name of the calendar varies from case to case.
Has anyone experienced the same issues, and know how to resolve it?
    Best regards,

  • Problems with a shared calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010

    Hello all,
We are having a problem with sharing a calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010.
I will start with some background. I have just started my position with this company. I have been working with networks for awhile at the small business level. I have not had much production experience with exchange. There is only myself and my supervisor
who has inherited a midsized network which was built by five previous techs that are no longer with the company. Of course, the previous techs did not leave much documentation, so the original hows and whys for our system setup has been lost.
One of the managers has a calendar she shares with some of our users. I believe this calendar has been in use since sometime in 2006. A mailbox was created to hold this calendar to keep it separate from the managers calendar. I am not sure what version
of exchange they were using at that time, but I assume there was one or two migrations of it getting to its current state on our exchange 2010 server. At some point it was observed that the other workers she was sharing with were not able to access it correctly.
I am not fully sure what the original problem was (possibly some people not being able to see or connect to the calendar), but it was decided to give everyone who needed access to this calendar full access permissions through exchange. Correct me if I
am wrong, but I believe that gave everyone connected the ability to do anything with the calendar. Of course the manager was not happy about that. This is where I started working on the problem.
I removed everyone, except the manager who wants to control the calendar, from having "Full Access Permissions". This did have the effect of making some people just able to see the calendar and not make changes. Though there were others that were
able to connect to the calendar who I thought would not be able to. The manager that originally created the calendar did try to manage access to it through the Outlook interface, though it currently does not seem to be fully in effect.
So, to get to the point of what we are trying to do, is there a way to get the original manager back into control of the calendar though Outlook? It would be preferred to be able to keep the history of what they tracked of this calendar, so starting a new
one would be something we would rather avoid. After that, getting all of the users that need to connect to the calendar reconnected with the correct access permissions and making sure they are all synchronized.
I realize this is a big mess, and your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Nigel,
How is the impact, just one user or all users, Outlook or OWA?
If just one user, it seems like an issue on the Outlook Client side.
Please trying to re-create new profile to fresh the caches.
Please runing Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall.
