ESS Employee Review

Hi
I am not very familiar with MSS/ESS access so I need some help
A manager having MSS access tries to display qualifications for his team (Personal Development) and can only display some of them. Funny enough he has about 5 employee, 2 stating with 8* and others with 5*
He cannot display the ones starting with 8*
How do I check what's wrong? I tried to trace with ST01, difficult to identify

Hi Nadia
My guess is that you are using structural authorizations. Try to see if you can find the manager in transaction OOSB, if so, you can check the structural profile by pressing the Blue "I" - it will give the Object that the manager has access to

Kiran,
Normally every customer has acces to it with their S number. If you don't have an S number, this the procedure taken from the help on service.sap.com.
The following data is needed to request a new user ID.
Note:
Please write down all your data, as you have to enter it several times and your entries always have to agree.
If you want to delete all your entries to date, click Reset.
Customer/partner number or installation number:
You will find the installation number of your SAP System under:
System -> Status... -> SAP System Data. Hint:
You only have to enter one of the numbers.
Form of address, first name, last name
When you log on to the SAP Service Marketplace, you can change this data in MyProfile.
E-mail address
You need an e-mail address that is registered at your company.
The system checks whether your e-mail address has been assigned to the entered customer/partner number.
Once you have that data:
Step 1 - Registering with the SAP Service Marketplace
Enter your customer/partner number or installation number.
Choose a form of address and enter your first and last name.
Enter the e-mail address registered with your company.
Once your entries are complete, click Send.
The User Request Successful screen appears:
You receive a registration password:
Write it down. You will need the registration password for the next step.
Within one day, you receive an e-mail with the URL link for your access data.

Enter the URL link from the e-mail in your browser's address field and press Return.
The Here is your user ID and password screen appears.
Enter the following data, and make sure that it agrees with the data you entered in Step 1 - Registering with the SAP Service Marketplace:
Customer/partner number or installation number
First name and last name
E-mail address
Enter the required registration password.
When you entries are complete, click Send.
The User data registration was successful screen appears:
You receive your user ID and password.

Write down your user ID and password.

Click Logon to SAP Service Marketplace and enter your user ID and your password.
Click OK.
You are now logged on to the SAP Service Marketplace.

ESS-Employee Self Service-Help required.

Hello,
We have already implemented ESS-Employee Self Service.(PORTAL EP 7.0 SP13 & HR system-ECC 6.0). Now the requirement is that payroll related information in ESS needs to be mapped with another HR system SAP 4.7.Rest of the functionality needs to be unchanged.
I am beginner in portal. Can any one please provide me the required detailed documentation regarding the same.

We have not mapped SAP 4.7 yet. We are looking forward to integrate it.
I agree that we should go for payroll in ECC 6.0 as well. But its the client requirement that as of now we want payroll from SAP 4.7.They would be migrating to ECC 6.0 in next few months. Till then we have to manage with SAP 4.7
Could you please provide me any documentaion regarding this issue or issues that we need to care off before we go ahead with this complex activity.

Limit the ESS employee search all, No Wildcard Search

Hello,
We have:
EP 7.0, SP10
ERP2005 (ECC 6.0), SP05
ESS (MySAP ERP) 1.0, SP04.
How can we configure the ESS employee search in EP to exclude "*" search all. This is to limit employee from opening the entire 29K employee master records.
So it mean we dont want the User to search with Wildcards "*" in ESS employee search.
Any Ideas?

ESS Employee photo

Dear Experts,
Currently ESS portal employee photo is been wrongly getting updated.We have checked in R3 system per employee more than one JPG photo file is there.
Is there any option to overwrite the last updated photo as default one in R3 system same can be shown in ESS portal.if yes how can be done.

Yes, you can delete the last document of photo.

Go to stored document->documents-> find documents in menu bar and click on execute button, you can see list of photo uploaded document and you can select the object type row with your wrongly updated employee ID and click on delete button up. With this wrongly updated photo will be removed.

ESS: Employee Self Services, Hrxssce_Service_Appl_Path does not exist

I am having real problems implementing the employee self services in a Portal environment. It is located on a NW 7.0 JavaAddin with SP 15.
I followed the configuration guides on help.sap.com and rechecked all settings. I could also find some threads here in SDN-community but nothing helped so far.
My components in the server are SAP_ESS 600 SP13 and BP_ERP5ESS 1.0 SP13 . The different xss components are of version 600.
The error I get is always after a click on a specific function:
com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: Type com.sap.pcuigp.xssutils.pernr.model.grpinfo.types.Hrxssce_Service_Appl_Path does not exist
The default trace of the server node shows this error message:
sap.com/ess~cod/ChangeOwnDataApplication#com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.TypeNotFoundException: type com.sap.pcuigp.xssutils.pernr.model.grpinfo.types.Hrxssce_Service_Appl_Path could not be loaded: com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: Type com.sap.pcuigp.xssutils.pernr.model.grpinfo.types.Hrxssce_Service_Appl_Path does not exist
The only thing that I can imagine is that I used a wrong version. Is there a source where I can read about the correct releases for the correct SP-Stacks?

To ensure you are using corresponding versions and SP levels
I can't see any problem with SAP_ESS 600 SP13 and BP_ERP5ESS 1.0 SP13 - however are these installed on the same Portal ?
are you also using SAP_HR and EA_HR version 600 in the ECC system (as recommended) - did you implement Netweaver EHP1 in ECC or Portal (not recommended for ERP 6.0)
A common reason for this issue is XSS versions are not corresponding version to SAP_HR and EA_HR - this includes component PCUI_GP which should be at version 600 for SAP_ESS 600 useage

Whenever employee needs stationary, He/she should send request to Admin dept. Manager from ESS.
If Admin dept manager approves, then it should go to Finance dept.
How to configure this in ESS. (In which workset)
Not only stationary but also Car booking, Hotel booking, mobile bill payment etc.....

NEED HELP: HOW TO OPEN A PDF IN ESS (EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE)

Hi All,
I need help in uploading and opening a PDF document in ESS. My requirement is to upload the soft copy of appraisal letters of all employees under their respective usernames, so that they can open, view, download and print the same from ESS.
This would reduce the overall effort of printing and handing over the hard copies.
Kindly help me out on this issue at the earliest.

When I right click on that Place system is giving this error.
I have maintained number ranges for photo upload. I have uploaded 3 photos and checked the number range but it is showing current number as 0. means no number is generating from the number ranges.

Having a look at the settings in our system where this is working, I can see that we have used SDOKCONT1, we haven't created a ZSDOKCONT1. Maybe you can try this as well?
The other difference is that under the Protocol tab i.e. in transaction OAC0 we have created our own Protocol ZHRPRO, and this is maintained via (i think) via transaction OAA3. Our settings for this are:

1. Pre- Maternity Leave ,Post Maternity Leave , Miscarriage and Maternity Illness : Ceiling defined should include Weekly Off, in-between Company Declared Holidays.
2. If an employee works on both the weekly offs , he shall be eligible for One OT and One Compensatory Off.
3. Leave Encashment :Maximum of 11 days of Earned Leave can be encashed during a Calendar year at any time in one spell.
4. Leave Travelling Allowance (LTA) :To claim LTA the employee should have completed one year of Service and should be an confirmed Employee.
5. LTA request should be forwarded directly to Payroll Section.
6. Special Leave to be applied by the Manager. Employee cannot apply.

I want to give employee bank information in display mode for the employees. I am getting edit mode.

For both of them you can use Personalization, follow the note 1234273 for doing Personalization.
Important, while doing the personalization nvaigate to the iview from role instead of previewing from Portal Content.

For Bank Information:
If you want it to be in display mode for all the employee, go to View Layout and change the property from true to false for enabled property.
