ESS issues

Hi,
We applied ESS & PCUI GP PATCH 11.7 all our iview were working fine now after carefully applying patch SP12 we have run into some issues.
Most of the issues are inthe section of Personnel information and Travell and expenses.
Now the patches on the back end SAP HR & EA-HR are at SP22.
Now has some one ran into issues with application of ess patch sp12 and is it mandatory that back end patches for both components have to be at higher level if YES then at which level.
Some of the issues are
Trips n expenses
Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.model.api.WDModelException: failed to create instance of model 'com.sap.xss.tra.model.common.CommonModel'
Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: no jcoMetadata found for RFC function 'PTRM_WEB_CCNUM_MASKING'! Please verify, that your model is consistent with the ABAP backend: 'OT2'
Personnel Information -> Bank
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.TypeNotFoundException: type extern:com.sap.xss.per.model.mac.types.HRXSS_PER_MAC:com.sap.xss.per.model.mac.types.Hrxss_Per_Subtype_Allowed could not be loaded: com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdException: Type com.sap.xss.per.model.mac.types.Hrxss_Per_Subtype_Allowed does not exist.

We also faced the same issue while applying SP12 on portal...but then you need to apply the corresponding equivalent patches on ECC side also...then we got this fixed..

   These are the software components required for ESS and MSS.Just check whether they are present in your server if not download them from service market place and deploy it in SDM.

Either the logical System Name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' has not been properly defined in the System Landscape Directory, or you are not using a MsgServerDestination (AppServerDestinations are not permitted for Metadata connections)

SAP HR ESS Issue - Remove Approvar

I have a query where in I need to remove the approvar in ESS. For Eg. if an employee applies for leave through ESS, it shud trigger Y and not X. How to go for i in OM?

Change in HRP1001 for A002 instead of x possition give Y position.
In system Employee Position reporting to X position.. Change from particular date on wards to Y position.
Use T. Code:PP02
Select object type S. Then infotype as 1001, subtype as A002, Planning Status as 1, Give dates and maintain data for Position.

ESS issue, local file button

Hello Team,
In a ESS report output, i try to download the output list to local file using 'Local file' button. The pop up box appears with 'unconverted', Excel etc. But if i click either OK , pop up box for java appears (attached). After that nothing happens either if i click OK or Cancel.
32 bit java run time environment for Java 7 has been installed in the system.
Can you please suggest what needs to be done. Thanks in advance.

ESS Portal Issue

ESS Services Problem - PLOG and P_PERNR

Hi everyone.
We are currently upgrading from ECC 5 to ECC 6 and I am facing an ESS issue and have a few questions.
First, have the Webdynpro services changed between release 5 and 6? Webdynpro service sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils/XssMenuArea doesn't show up under SU24 when reviewing auth objects PLOG and P_PERNR in ECC 6, our upgraded system. In our current ECC 5 landscape, this service is available and viewable under these auth objects. Is this service available in ECC 6.0?
Second question - how do I manually add this service to be checked/proposed for PLOG and P_PERNR? I receive an error when clicking the change/display auth button in PFCG when workign with our ESS role. The error says
"Authorization default values of transaction B690099F24B95252AC6B70AEBD3C12 for object PLOG inconsistent"
The character string refers to service sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils/XssMenuArea. How can I add this service to auth objects PLOG and P_PERNR?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded!

Benefit plan - rule issue

Hello experts,
We have an issue that I need your help with. I am new to benefits so any help would be most appreciated.
When an employee tries to enroll their spouse in the Spouse Life benefit plan, he/she cannot enroll them unless they themselves are in the Employee Life plan. This is the way our plan is set up.
We have noticed that on ESS the first time the employee goes into Open Enrollment do this, it will correctly prevent the spouse from being enrolled without the employee having it as well. But if the employee logs off of ESS and then tries again, it will allow the spouse to be enrolled without the employee also being enrolled. It seems as if the rule doesnu2019t u2018applyu2019 all the time.
What are we missing? Is this a plan set up issue or is this an ESS issue?

Hello,
This question has been answered. It apears that the rule worked one way but not the other so a rule had to be set up on the employee's plan as well.
In other words, we allow employees to enroll their spouse in suuplemental life for the amount of 1/2 the employee's election. In our case the system was allowing the spouse to be enrolled in equal to the amount or even without the employee being enrolled!
It turns out that the spouse plan had a rule about the 1/2 but the employee plan did not therefore there was no cross check happening in that direction.

Two step Leave Approval Process

Dear All Gurus,
Please help me in this ESS issue. I am facing this issue in ESS Leave Request Application which I will explain with following scenarios.
I have employees Ram and Sham Reporting to Ajay.
1. Line Manager of Ram and sham is Ajay
2. Line Manager of Ajay is Mohan.
Ram has applied leave which came to Ajay inbox for approval. Ajay couldnu2019t able to see it so it went for an escalation to Mohan (who is line manager of Ajay).
Now Ajay donu2019t have Ram request in his UWL and as well as in his SAP Business workplace inbox.
Now Sham has applied leave which again went to Ajay ((who is line manager of Sham).this time Ajay saw the one sham request in his UWL and when he tries to approve it he is getting one more screen in which he is seeing Ram and sham request in the table.
When Ram request already went to mohan why it is coming in the absence table list under the request of sham??
Please help me in solving the same.

We are facing one Critical Server Issue in our systems. Following is the scenerio:-
Our Portal system was having one Application known as German Payroll application. Before last two week one more application of ESS/MSS i.e. Time Management has been deployed to our system.
Now the user has two application with two different roles in the portal.
When user try to navigate from Time Management Application to German Payroll application or German Payroll Application to Time Management Application then they are facing Critical Server Error issue.
But once the user try to refresh using CTRL+F5 then the problem got resolved.

here is the catch....When user is trying to navigate from ESS tab(using
custom jcos for Backend system P23) to German payroll(backend system
P95) after 3 mins ---getting crtical error...Still its using the

After more analyzing the situation we found that one web dynrpo component i.e. pcui_gp~xssutils is common to both the application and it is configured to standard JCO i.e.

SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
My thinking is that this component is giving us the problem.
Please provide your comments and solution to rectify this issue.

Hi
First try a very simple application with nothing in it just one text saying Hello World
Run it and see what happens.
Also check if your url uses FQDN name. something like https:
company.name.co:50000\.......
If you do not use the FQDN it will always show a script error on the bottom and some functions will not work e.g
dropdowns.

In My client place, system gives a dump error when employee is maintaining its leave in ESS system.Here TM is not integrated with payroll.
Plz help me how to resolve the issue.

Issue in ESS - Single Signon

Dear All,
EP7.0 SP9, ECC5
We have an major issue in ESS, The problem is with single sign on.
Here are the scenario's we are using :-
1. We are using "training1" as EP login id and in PA30 in R/3 InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001 The same ID "training1" (Same as EP log in), the portal is picking the data properly and working fine.
2. If we use training1 as EP loginID and in PA30 in R/3 InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001 if we use exeibckk (R/3 ID created for each individual user as communication user),
we are getting error "User TRAINING1 does not exist in this period"
we need to go ahead with the Step2, since all the EP login users are LDAP configured and,it has more than 15 characters, we cannot use EP login ID in InfoType 105 and Sub Infotype 0001
since it is restricted to 12 Characters.
e.g:
EP user ID is - shivakumar_ks ( taken from LDAP)
where as his R/3 or ESS user ID is - P000000002
since the login ID and R/3 ID are different,The system is throwing the error mentioned above.
We map the Shivakumar_ks with P000000002 in the EP Personalize option. But it is
not picking up the mapping. It tried to find the Shivakumar_ks in R/3 and fails.
Even though we are giving the UIDPWD in the system Logon Method.
Can anyone please give me the solution on the above.

Issue in ESS Personal Information iViews

Dear Experts,
I have an issue with ESS Personal Information details. The issue is the personal information related iViews such as Bank information , personal id, address iViews are only displays a road map and a button in disabled mode. Its doesn't display any data.
But my Employee search iViews are working fine.;
Any idea about this issue?

End User - ESS Timesheet Display Issue

Hi All,
Hopefully I have posted this in the correct forum. I tried to search of the issue I have for an end user but had no success, so I thought since my post graduate study surrounds ERP systems and work with SAP every day, I though it was best to register.
Now the issue I have here is, when the user goes into their portal ESS to view their timesheets, the display is unsual. They do not have an option to manually go back to previous weeks and the view of their timesheet is 'squashed' in (Timesheet Entry View) but if you scroll across to the right where the date and 'go to' function is, it has been cut off. There are no issues with any other users so it appears to be a local issue
Currently, I have reverted back to IE7, checked for any add on's that may cause display issues, I have checked their roles and everything is normal. The only issue I can see is some conflicting issues is with the Browser and SAP.
Any help will be appreciated.

Check the configuration setting for the profile that's being used by ESS. As this is where you can restrict user's ability to navigate forward and back from current week etc.
