I am Working in Workflow for ESS/MSS ..After i create these i have to link to the Portal environment
The Standard Tasks and workflow templates are required in the given below Workflow...
1 Workflow for Processing Leave Requests and Absences
2 Workflow for approval of revised employee compensation package
3 Workflow for contract extension
4 Workflow for re-organizational assignments
5 Workflow for approving exit from the organization
6 Workflow for contract ending information
7 Workflow for termination of employment

Also we need to patch our stack to the latest SP. Latest SP available in market is SP11 as we prefer n-1 we planned to go for SP10, but in MOPZ while selecting the target it gives option only for SP11 in the drop down. Any reason for it ?
As you could see our SAP-HR, EA-HR LSOFE are still in 600 release. If we select the target package in MOPZ to the latest will it upgrade the SAP_HR 600, EA-HR 600& LSOFE 600 components to SAP-HR 604, EA-HR 606, LSOFE 606 ?
If I had to install HR-Renewal 1.0 I would need EA-HR 607 and LSOFE 607, so can that be included in the same stack ?
Please advice.

Debugging Workflow in ESS/MSS module .

Hi,
I know the stpes to debugging simple workflow and trouble shooting the same, but now
I want to know the debuggibg workflow steps for workflow running with ESS/MSS module Framework,
The scenario is
Its actually Approving Forms in ESS/MSS module, The Employee applying medical leave from his Id, then it will go to first level approver inbox once he approve it goes to second level approver inbox once he approves then it will go to third level approver inbox and he is the final level approvel once he approve the proces will be done.
The problem is, After the second level approver approves the form its updating wrong third level approver so its not comming to third level approver inbox. The workflow is designed under Z class but I dont have update cone in Z class methods.
The updation part is comming under standard ess/mss framework code.
So please tell me the steps how i can debugg or execute worklow in background for all the steps,
like from first step I like pass the container to second steps and goes on.
Help really appreciated.

In ESS/MSS leave request the employee will apply the leave from portal and the workflow will triggered based on the spro which workflow template is used. Has you said that updation my custom cone. What is meant by that. Has as has i know we need to update the infotype 2001. This can be done by std FM.
To degbug.
In the put a external break point of the std FM which screen it call. I hope its called the webdypro java screen which nothing but a std FM. You need to find that FM. Then put a external breakpoint. change the user name from goto menu. Once you approve button is clicked in the portal. The debugger will open.

Function modules or BAPIs for ESS MSS

Hi Experts,
I am new to HR (ESS/MSS & who's who). I am looking for standard BAPI's and Function Modules that would give me information about an employee's upper level's and lower levels (reporting).
My requirement is to build an Webdynpro Application with taking employee id as user input and display his uplevel's and downlevel's. Also, hyperlink on employee should help me to further navigate to the corresponding employee's information.
Note: I tried to search this forum, but unable to narrow down the required business functions that i require.

Objective setting appraisal (OSA) queries related to ESS/MSS

Hello All,
I am currently working in OSA. I have few queries related to this.
My client wants to implement OSA without linking it to the SAP ESS/MSS. They have their own intranet portal which is not a part of SAP. But they are using it for applying leave etc which has been linked to SAP R/3. So they also want to use the the same portal for appraisal also.
Hence my query is whether is it possible to link OSA with their own inhouse intranet portal ? And if it is possible then how and will I be able to get all those functionalites which are available in standard ESS/MSS for OSA?

In one of my clients they were using MOSS as thier frame work (SAP portal is called inside moss)

Upgrading to EHP 4.0 - Have few queries on ESS/MSS, Erecruitment.

Hi,
We are trying to upgrade our portal to EHP 5.0. We have ESS/MSS and few webdynpro java and webdynpro abap applications on the portal. These are the few queries I have
1) ESS services : employee search, personal data, LMS(Webdynpro Java) are on EHP 3 as of now. Will the applications remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP5?
2) ESS travel management(Webdynpro ABAP) are on EHP 2 as of now. Will this application remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP 5?
3) E Recruitment (BSP) is on EHP 3 Will this application remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP 5?
4) We have MSS services: ERec Manager and Appraisal. Will these services affect if we upgrade to EHP 5?
4) We have few custom applications in Webdynpro abap and webdypro java developed on portal. Will these effect if we upgrade to EHP 5?

Multi Level Leave workflow in ESS MSS

Hi Guys,
This is the first time I am working with ESS MSS and I have to implement 2 level workflow for leave, I have gone through lot of threads and concluded that i have to enhance class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS
with new method where I have to change the status back to SENT after first level of approval and create new background task and attach it to custom workflow which is copy of standard.
Now my problem is I have enhanced the class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS with new method change status but when I am creating the task I canu2019t see that method in drop down list of methods.
Any idea why it not showing.
We are on ECC6. EH4

Hi Atul
You are doing wrong way. You need to use BADI to enhance that for that goto SE18 search with PT_GEN* and get the BADI name and goto se19 and create a implementation for that there you in the desiered method you can code. But remember you cannot add you own need method the BADI. What ever SAP is providing that one only you can use to add additional code not addding new method.

Dependent's Details workflow in ESS MSS

Hello All ,
I am trying to create a workflow in ESS MSS which will be triggered from portal when employee will try to Add or change his dependent's details. Now my doubt is once employee is adding Dependent's details , it directly gets posted in Infotype - 0021 , Although My workflow is getting triggered after Posting but I want data to be posted once workflow is completed succesfully.

How you are posting the change in dependent's details into IT0021 ? Is it through Custom RFC?
may be you need to change the process, You should create a task to post the data from portal to Infotype
using HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION. This background task should get executed after final approval of the change.
There should not be automatic posting of the data.

Dear All,
My Client is implementing all the following modules: OM; PA; Time; Payroll; Comepnsation Mgmt.; Training & Event Mgmt; Personnel Development; Recruitment.

ESS / MSS - download function module doens't work

Hi all,
We are working with SAP 4.6c, and using function GUI_DOWNLOAD to download data to xls file. When we access the application through ESS / MSS, we don't know why, but it doesn't take into consideration parameter WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR = "X". The result is, it'll download the data into the file, but when we open it, the entire record is contained in just one cell. Running the same program using SAP GUI, it works perfectly.
Any idea or suggestion?

Is the data in internal table is tab separated or not?
If not then make the data of internal tabel as tab separated before downloading.
Do like this:
DATA: c_tab TYPE c VALUE cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.
Suppose you have a comma as field separator then to make it as tab seprated use thsi syntex.
REPLACE ALL OCCURANCES OF SPACE IN ITAB WITH C_TAB.
Or Loop the internal table and append the data of 1st internal table into another int. table using c_tab as separaptor.
Then use GUI_DOWNLOAD. this time it will download the records properly.
