ESS PORTAL PROBLEM

Hi,
Two queries in ESS portal :
1. In Field control for additional receipt information there is no time option. In one of expense type we need the time field also along with dates and description. Please suggest to add the same.
2. Earlier the system use to through error message with maximum rates while pressing the Check button, if the user puts rate beyond maximum limit. But after upgrade to EHP4 system is showing a Java exception without saving data. Please suggest to get the error messages instead of Java exception.

Please check the customizing table V_T7XSSSERRES (Define Resources), and the resource for the Web Dynpro application "My trips and Expenses" If the field "Window Name" is empty,then this will be problematic.
So, you have to go to the view V_T7XSSSERRES and maintain for the resource
EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSES_SRV_12 the URL parameter sap.xss.tra.TripSchema=01   or whichever number your schema has!

In case you need it, the standard PCD role is

Problem with updating Passport details from ESS portal

HI Experts,
Some of my employees were unable to input passport details from ESS portal -own data.
Employee who belong to south korea are getting the problem.
Even though we fill every field,system is showing an error that "" Fill in all required entry fields ""
In spro...we maintained country grouping as 41 and IT 0185 and subtype and we use rthe case B2 in speciy use case and activity subtypes.
Another thing,when we update data in 0185IT by R/3 by backend it is not showing up the details in ESS.
Could you please give me an idea to resolve the problem.

Hi Experts,
No details were maintained in the table V_T588MFPROPC for this infotype.
Employee with other country grouping were able to up-date passport details in portal.
Where as south korea employees are not able to update the passport details.
For south korea employees..they have to update passport details with sutype 01 in ESS portal.
Even though we fill all the details it is showing fill in all required entries.
In table V_T588MFPROPS..no details were maintained for version 41.
In portal we have to maintain..ICNUM,ICOLD,AUTH1,FPDAT,EXPID,ISSPL,ISCOT,IDCOT.
In r/3(by backend) we can maintain all these details including ID TYPE(ictyp).We have only one subtype(passport) in 0185 for this south korea.What details shall we need to maintain for version 41.
Please let me know,why system is showing error even we maintain all the details.

TRIP END DATE greyed out while creating Travel Request IN SAP ESS Portal

Dear Friends,
                           I am trying to create a Travel Request from my ESS Portal,when I am entering the trip details as follows:
General Trip Data (header)
Start: *    (Have to enter trip date)
End:        (greyed out)   **** problem with this field
First Destination: Country/Region:     open field
Reason for Trip:    open field
Activity:     open field
Estimated Cost:
Previous Step Review     Exit (these are all tabs)
The problem is that the END DATE is greyed out ,how do we enable it,is it a configuration setting or some code change in the function module

My portal consultant said that this FM is called in the backround R/3....please let me know ure views on this...

Employee photo is missing in ESS portal.

Dear Experts
In ESS portal employee photo is missing.
Config ESS in R3 system
1.Table T77S0 ADMIN PHOTO HRICOLFOTO.
2.Maitain ESS Setting, Display Employee photograph is flagged.
under change who who data, both option is flagged.
Please guide me ,i'm i missing any configuration.

Normally there might be many reasons for pics not getting displayed, as u have said that the photo is already visible in R/3 then u need to check the following things
1) check S_WFAR_OBJ authorization object has been maintained or not.
2) Access T-code PZUSWHO & check whether the following settings are maintained or not.

Business Event Does Not Appear in ESS Portal

Hi People,
I would like to ask for assistance on this problem:
A user created a business event in the SAP system. But she canu2019t make a booking in this course through the ESS portal because the course canu2019t be found upon searching it. She always got this error message: u201Crestrictions, or use a different search termu201D. We already provided her a number of workaround solutions like using different search terms, changing the field period to all, etc. but still she canu2019t see this course in the portal to make a booking.
Can you help me on this?

Set the property "Add to Favourites" to Yes
Portal Content -> Content provided by SAP -> End user Content -> Standard Portal User -> Default Framework page ---> Edit Object
Open the Page Title Bar -> Search for the property -> Show 'Add to Browser Favorites'
and set this property to Yes.
Now refresh the page. It will show this option.

Business Purpose field hidden in ESS portal for only one user

Hi All,
We have one wiered error while creating an expense reort in ESS portal and this is only for one employee out of 15,000 users.
Problem:
The additional information for expense type " Business Purpose " field was hidden for one employee and infact this is a required field and the rest of 14,999 users are able to see this filed while creating an expense report.
We wern't able to replicate the same error in other systems like QA/ Dev boxes with the same authorizations and even from the same laptop. This user got the same problem even by logging into different laptop.
SAP ECC 6.0 - Release 603 .
Any suggestions or ideas will appreciate.

We do not normally assign the Content Admin role in EP to the end user and his back end ECC role and EP portal role is 100% equal to the other users. Audit won't allow to assign any special roles to end users.

Total compensation statement is not showingup in ESS portal for an employee

HI Experts,
One of my employee could nt able to view his total compensation statement through ESS portal.It is showing only blank.
I have checked the integration PCOMP SFTCS in T77S0 table and is with ZHR_CM_TCS.
What could be the reasons for showingup only the blank screen without values.
Please advice me to resolve the problem.

(TEM) Appraisal Form not showing in ESS portal

Hallo Experts,
In the ESS portal during appraisal of a certain BE, the Appraisal form does not appear. The Name of the Appraisal model appear on the portal but NOT the form itself where the user input data. (the criteria groups and criterions.)
The Appraisal form is incomplete.
The BET for the BE has correct event appraisal model as shown in its Relationship infotype.
Is this a problem with the SAP or the portal itself?
I'm not sure if the appraisal functionality uses batch job to copy data into the portal. Is there a way to tell? Or is there a SAP standard program used in batch jobs that transfers data from appraisal into the portal?

We have jdk1.4.2_22 installed on server.
Using NWDS7.0 sp18 with jdk1.4.2_22 build fails below error:

Using NWDS7.0 sp18 with jdk1.5.0_18.
I am able to build and deploy application successfully . But getting Unsupported major.minor version 49.0 exception on the portal.

From sdn came to know UnsupportedClassVersionError is generally for version mismatch. But with matching jdku2019s not able to build the application, to resolve that used the higher version of jdk.
Can anyone help me in solving this issue.

Solution for the above problem is resolved by using higher verion jdk@NWDS side.
I am able build and deploy successfully by using JDK1.5.0_18.

Please go through this functional module HRMS_BIW_EXTRACT_PY1 in r/3 side to know the exact table where u r getting the data.
There are lot of tables involved in HR-payroll info types.
As far as your problem is concerned you take one employee and go to PA20 and analyse the payroll for each week or twice a month (depends up on ur client)
run the report on the payroll cube and find out exactly what u want.

it is not going to even if debugging mode though i have set the break-point in the program.
so can any bod tell me where is the exact problem ,

Hi,
Firstable, you have to set an EXTERNAL break-point with the same user that you are logged in Portal.
You can do this in Menu: Utilities > Settings > Tab ABAP Editor > Tab Debugging.

ESS portal error

Hi All,
Currently we are in the midle Upgrade project form 4.7 to ECC6.
after the upgrade, we get problem with ESS portal. For aproval annual Leave is error.
The error is the system can not found the defined service.
Since I have not experience in ITS. could you guide how to fix it?

ESS Portal W2 Reprint

1. We are facing a problem for W2 Reprint workflow in ESS Portal. The workflow WS01000090 gets triggered when the W2 screen comes up for intercompany mail and the mail is sent to HR administrator inbox.
The work item is set to status completed after the administrator processes the work item,but there is no output of the W2 form in the spool. The problem seems to be missing data in V_5UXY_A for year 2008 and hence the submit program RPCTRPU0 is not working. We are displaying the W2 Employee copy form which is HR_F_W2_MULT_07.The Tax reporter PU19 is working fine in ECC 6.0.
Please let me know if there is any documentation regarding the configuration of V_5UXY_A,T51T5,T5UT8,T5UT7,T5UT6.
2. Also let me know if there is there any standard functionality on ESS Portal to display/render W2 tax forms on EP Screens in PDF or sapscript format,or do we need to develop custom program/Function module to display W2 forms. Our requirement is to display all previous years W2 forms on EP for employees.

1) You have to maintain table T51T5 in order for the WF (W2Reprint) to generate the PDF file to the spooler.
Follow this answer from SAP:
As of 2007, a new form has been introduced HR_F_W2_MULT_07.
The application picks up as default the form that is maintained in the table T51t5 with sequence number 02 for event 4. The new form has been delivered, for event 4 with sequence number 02. So you can rectly the problem by accessing the view V_t51t5, choose the molga-10, Way of reporting - 5 and for tax form HR_F_W2. In the list of entries, for No:2 and event 4, for which HR_F_W2_MULT_01 is maintained, please change the same to HR_F_W2_MULT_07.
2) Create a small program to call the Method W2Reprint in the 01000090 Workflow to generate the employee W2 reprint PDF file.
3) Create a Web App using [Web Dynpro for ABAP|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/WDABAP/A%20Simple%20Web%20Dynpro%20Application%20to%20display%20a%20pdf%20file%20in%20the%20browser%20window] to display the generated PDF file from the spooler. (Remember to add code to WDDOINIT in the Main View, to read the generated PDF file)

ESS Portal - Timesheet not displaying for one user

Hello, I have a user who has always been able to access their timesheet via the ESS Portal but now when he clicks on the link for his timesheet all that returns is a blank web page. There are no errors, and it's not a browser issue because no one else is experiencing this issue and we've tried various browsers, all with the same result.
We have single sign on set up for the ESS Portal, and there is a role assigned to the user in core for them to access their timesheet via the portal.
This role has not been changed, and if it was, it would seem that all users would have been affected.
Does anyone know what I can check on the backend (HR master data, payroll, etc.) that would effect the timesheet for a specific user?
As well, is there anything I should check on the portal for this user which would affect the timesheet being displayed?

1. Review if his timesheet is being generated in the back-end (transaction PT61). If the time statement is generated in this transaction, the problem lies in the portal display.
2. If the time statement is not generated in this transaction, run transaction PT_ERL00 to review if there are any time evaluation errors for this employee. This report will show all error messages generated for each personnel number.
3. After reviewing errors, grab hold of a time management consultant and have him/her run time evaluation for this employee. Repeat from step 1 again.

Customizing SAP ESS Portal Role

Hi,
I need to customize the ESS portal screens. For example, I need to view "Employee Search" tab but not the "Working Time" tab. Is advisable to modify the ESS Worksets provided by SAP directly and remove the workesets, pages that I do not need?
The approach I took was to create a new role and workset and include the SAP pages I needed. However, this gives me problems when I acess the iviews. For example, when I click on the "Who's Who" link, nothing happens.
Can anyone help?

For e.g., I created an "Employee Self-Service" role and an "Employee Self-Service" workset. Now in my "Employee Self-Service" workset, I referenced SAP's "Employee Search" workset. What do I need to change?
