Essbase : ess00001.inn not created ( aborting calculation)  ?

Hi Experts !!
When I calculate the cube, the member formulas in the scenario dimension are not calculating:
Error is : [ D:\........\ess00001.inn file can not be created because it already exist [adIndNewFile] aborted].
SO ..as my understanding i only need to delete the file ess00001.inn ,and should retry calculation..
But i m worried to delete that bacause of any loss..
Please suggest me the right way if i m wrong !!
Thank you

First I would back up the application directory (with the application stopped). then delete the file. Inn is a temporary file that Essbase uses when it is restructuring an outline. It sounds like a restructure failed.

  • Essbase install for 11.1.2.0 does not create opmn.xml

We are currently doing a test install of EPM 11.1.2.0 and are having a specific problem. Foundation services are all installed and running fine but the Essbase install seems to not create the necessary opmn files so we can't start it. No opmn.xml is created in
    user_projects/epmsystem1/config/OPMN/opmn
in fact nothing at all is created in there and so opmnctl complains that it can't find opmn.xml.
OPMN is running and controls OHS without problems. We also noticed that the Essbase configuration creates an empty opmnctl.bat script in the scripts directory. This is not a permissions issue, we are running the installer as admin. We have tried configuring Essbase in a cluster and not in a cluster with the same problem.

Yes, it is 2008 R2 and I know it's not officially supported yet. We're just running it to get some information for when we install if for real with 11.1.2.1 comes out ... I think it might be related to the fact that Essbase can't contact the Foundation services db or something like this - the installer logs seem to suggest that it aborts before getting to the opmn creation phase. I need to check the logs in more detail. Here is what is in the leasemanager_essbase_<hostname>.log which is written when running the configuration of Essbase:
    [2011-02-14T12:22:14.101-11:22] ESSBASE / Info (1320009)
Attempt to connect to database failed with error [[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver][Oracle]TNS-12514: TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor].
    [2011-02-14T12:22:14.554-11:22] ESSBASE / Error (1320010)
Database operation failed with error [[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver]String data code page conversion failed. Error in parameter 1.].
It seems that Essbase tries to get an OPMN lease by writing to the Shared Services repository using the ODBC driver and this fails with the above errors. It then shuts down and doesn't get as far as writing the opmn.xml file.

  • HPCM - Manage Database not creating outline in Essbase application

    Hi,
I've created the HPCM application from EPM 11.1.2.1 and I have also created the Stages, POV , Drivers and assignments but I cannot do data entry since the Essbase cube outline itself is not created.
I've gone to Manage Database -> "Deploy Now" several times to no avail . The Application and the Database gets created in Essbase but when I open the outline it is Blank!
My taskflow keeps showing the Status as "Done" but result variable as "Failed". Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong here? Or is there any setting/configuration in HPCM or Essbase that I need to set before I Deploy the HPCM application Calulation database and Reporting database?

    Hi,
I've got the solution. To solve this problem, you would need to configure the registry of the PC where HPCM client is installed with:
    TcpTimedWaitDelay
    Registry key=HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
    Data type=REG_DWORD
    Default value=0xF0 (240 seconds = 4 minutes)
    Valid values=0x1E to 0x12C (30 to 300 seconds)
    MaxUserPort
    Registry key=HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
    Data type= REG_DWORD
    Default value=20000
    Valid values= 5,000 to 65,534 (port numbers)
In order to do this , you would have to do the following :
    1. Create a new REG_DWORD value named TcpTimedWaitDelay. Set the value to decimal 30, which is Hex 0x0000001e. This value sets the wait time to 30 seconds.
    2. Create a new REG_DWORD value named MaxUserPort. Set this value to at least decimal 32768 or 65534.
    3. Create a new REG_DWORD value named MaxFreeTcbs. Set the value to decimal 6250. (The default is 2000 so you are basically tripling this value.).
    4. Reboot the machine for the new settings to take effect.

    Jonathan

  • Cross compilation successful but abort.o, atoi.o, atol.o etc not created

I am able to do configure using the options. But the files abort, atoi, atol, getcwd, are not created.
    it is showing messages as
    checking for abort ...no
    checking for atoi ...no
    checking for atol ...no
    checking for getcwd ...no
    But there are no errors..
    While make is given
make: ***No rule to make target 'abort.o', needed by libdb-4.5.a'. Stop.
    is the error
Do we need to add anything while configuration so that it creates .o files?
Please let me know if i need to edit the configure script
    thanks and regards
    elizabeth

    Hi Elizabeth,
If a line like the following:
    "configure:3671: m68k-elf-gcc -O conftest.c >&5"
exists in your configuration log output than this is an indication that the compiler and the tools are not installed or configured properly. Try to reinstall the toolchain.
Have you tried to build a simple "hello world" with the m68k-elf-gcc on your machine ? (since you probably run uCLinux, make sure that if you have uC-libc installed this is found in the supplied path for the tools).
The command line parameters should be:
    env CC="m68k-uclinux-gcc" CFLAGS="-m5200 -lc" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-elf2flt" ../dist/configure build=i386-linux host=m68k-uclinux --target=m68k-uclinux
If you still end up with errors, you will need to run make clean; make so that you won't mess up and mix a small build config with an ordinary one.
Let us know if the problem persists so we can help you further.
    Best regards,
    Andrei

  • Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330

Can not create recovery discs on satellite C875D-S7330. Drive runs and appears to be doing it thing, then aborts saying it has error to check disc for scratch or dust on media. Error code: OEO1B5-26-2AO3OC 00 . Tried 3 new discs all same results. Tried a 4th disc trying to continue on with disc 2 of recovery discs, got another error on this one. Error code: 020150-20-00000000.
Anyone have a fix for this? Had this machine less than 24hrs.
    Thanks
    Don B.

Personally, I would get a 16gig USB thumb drive and put your recovery on it.  It eliminates having to swap disks during recovery and it's easy to store.  I've used mine several times and it's worked perfectly every time.

  • How to write the expression when create the calculated column?

    Dear,
I want to create some calculated column in my attribute view, but I don't know how to write the code in the expression, is there any introduction about this part, how to use those function and how about the grammar in this expression code ?  or is there any example about this calculated column?
       Thanks for your sincerely answer.

    Hi Zongjie,
you can find some information about the creation of calculated columns in the HANA Modeling Guide (http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Modeling_Guide_for_SAP_HANA_Studio_en.pdf).
Within chapter 6.2.1 (Create Analytic Views) you can see under point 7 some basics and also a simple example. The same is also valid for Calculation Views.
Chapter 8.9 (Using Functions in Expressions) describes the different available functions.
You also can use the integrated search in the HANA Studio by clicking the "?" button in the button left corner. Then you get some links in the side panel with related information.
In general you can write your expression manually or you can just drag and drop the functions, elements, operators into the editor window. For example if you drag and drop the "if" function into the editor window you get "if(intarg,arg2,arg3)" inserted. The arguments can be replaced manually or also by drag and drop.
It is also worse to use the "Validate Syntax" button on top of the editor window. It gives you directly a feedback if your expression syntax is correct. If not you get some helpful information about the problem (ok, sometimes it is a little bit confusing because of the cryptic error message format ).

    Thanks Levi,
I slightly modified your script to recatalog the backup pieces since they are note stored at the same location in PR and QA.
No luck. The error message is different but the result is the same... it keeps failing.

Cache is first in first out... if you exceute too many queries then cache might force out the first query for want of memory. Check the cache immediately after the query is ruin once then you should also check the cache settings for the query in RSRT to see if cache is enabled for the query. Ideally the option for cache should be " Main memory cache with swapping " in RSRT.
    ==============
I executed my query in question as the first query but no cache was created.  The options for the cache mode was 'H Query reads data upon navigation' and 'main memory without swapping' along with a tick in the 'Query cache added to Delta' checkbox.
Just to check, i went on removing formulaes and calculated key figures and free characteristics from the query one by one and in the end the cache did get created for the same query. But I still could not pinpoint the exact reason for the query not producing cahce in its original form.
It only makes me think that there may be a particular scenarios or a peculiarity pertaining to the design of a query, that would prevent its cache being generated.

  • Application not appearing in Calculation Manager

    Dear All,
I have created a new application on test environment, but it is not visible in Calculation Manager.
Checked the application process, its the same i use to create applications previously.
I have done the same for creating applications on multiple times with no issues. Any thoughts what can go wrong
Note: A few days back the Calculation Manager stopped responding when we try to open the calculation manager through workspace we raised an Sr, Oracle support suggested to re-deploy the
calculation manager configuration with database schema and increased the jvm xms size from Operating System Registry for calculation manager.

mattbarszcz wrote:So I went back to the live cd, I ran efibootmgr with no arguments, and sure enough there was only 1 entry for the Windows Boot Manager.  It seems that efibootmgr commands don't seem to take effect.
Because of bugs in efibootmgr and/or EFI implementations, efibootmgr doesn't always work. Using bcfg from an EFI shell or bcdedit in Windows can be more effective on some systems. That said, if efibootmgr worked for you before, I'm not sure why it would stop working, or why an existing entry might disappear. (Some EFIs do delete entries that they detect are no longer valid. This shouldn't have happened with a whole-disk dd copy, but if you duplicated the partition table and then used dd to copy partitions, it might well have happened to you. I suppose it's conceivable that the firmware detected the change from one physical disk to another, too, and deleted the original entry because of that change.)
I referenced the rEFInd page here: http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/installing.html#windows and followed the procedure to install an entry for rEFInd from Windows.  I was able to add an entry no problem through windows.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this doesn't work?  Nothing has changed about the system other than the disk.
It's unclear from your post whether the entry you created in Windows now works. If it does, then don't sweat it; just keep using that entry, and if you need to make changes and efibootmgr doesn't work in the future, plan to use either Windows or the bcfg command from an EFI version 2 shell.

  • Withlding tax invoice is not creating

withholding tax invoice is not generating at the time of payment but it is calculating only.
    Steps
    Create standard invoice Rs 100
Attach payment withlding tax on line 6%
    Validate and approve
Crate payment with Rs 94(deduct Rs 6%)
Check withlding tax line on standard invoice line and it is available there with negative Rs6
But system doesnt create withholding tax invoice for Rs 6?
Setup is withlding tax at the time of payment and create withlding tax at payment

    Hi,
I checked the difference b/w normal standard invocie and generating invoice from recurring and found the difference only in header PAYMENT WITHHOLDING TAX GROUP.
When i not to choose payment wihthloding tax group in invoice header and select only in line, and validate and payment,it deduct withholding tax OK but not create withholding tax invoice?
But when i select payment withholding tax group on INVOICE header level, than it create withholding tax invoice as well as deduct on payment amount.
Is it mandatory to select withholding tax group on header level?

  • How to create a calculated field

Hi. I'd like to know how to create a calculated field for a master- detail form. For example: having two db fields price and quantity, i created a the total item (price * quantity) as pl/sql function like this:
    begin
    :p13_item_total := :p13_price * :p13_quantity;
    end;
However, the item is not calculated. It is not and instant calculation. I mean if i modify either price or quantity, how to recalculate item total immediately

You must submit the page to do it with PL/SQL. If you do not want to submit the page, you must do it with JavaScript.

  • Classic Scenario PO not creating, only PR

    Hi,
I'm using SRM 5.0, in classic scenario to R/3 4.6C. My Shopping Carts to R/3 are complete, but is not creating a PO. It creates a PR. If i run, ME57, assign and process, PR is already assigned a Fixed vendor, and PO is created without any further data being added. (Vendor, price, etc)
I'm confident my number ranges and Doc Type settings are correct.
In SRM customising, my 'Define Objects in BE Sys, has vaild P.Group, Cat Id, R/3 Source sys, Always external and PO if item data complete'.
When I trace RFC, RSRFCTRC, it is calling BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE. Not BAPI_PO_CREATE1. Vendor master, set to auto create PO, not using material masters. Mat group and Vendor replicated from R/3 to SRM. Tax is calculated in R/3.
Any help appreciated. Is there a FM in SRM to test why its not creating a PO?
    regards Adam

    Hi
Couple of reasons might be possible ->
    1) Try de-activating all the Custom BADI Implementations using SE19 Transaction (name starting with Y or Z) in SRM System for the time being, and then try out again.
Seems to be some BADI - BBP_TARGET_OBJECTS
BBP_TARGET_OBJTYPE might be over-riding the back-end documents creation.
    2) Incase above step, does not help, Try creating a PO or PR directly into R/3 system (using ME21N or ME51N Transactions with the Document typeused in SRM), with the same data that is passed in the RFC call (you traced earlier) then see, what is happening in that case ?
    Do let me know.

  • Help in creating MDX Calculated Member using attributes from multiple Dimension

    Hi All,
First of all my knowledge on MDX is basic. In one of our projects, there is a requirement to create calculated member (similar to derived fields in SQL) which is more of a dimension attribute and not really a calculated member. Due to IP issues I cannot paste
the actual queries but I will provide an SQL Query equivalent to what I am trying to achieve:
    Select P.Product, Case When ISNULL(FS.ArtistName,'') = '' Then P.ArtistName Else FS.ArtistName End Artist
     From
    dbo.FactMusicSales FS
    Join dbo.dimProduct P
    on P.DimProductKey =  FS.DimProductKey
We are trying to replicate the logic for derving the "Artist" field using MDX script.
We are running into issues while trying to build an MDX expression using the above logic. The main issue being that the new field/member "Artist" would not be calculated unless its elements are selected (FS.ArtistName, P.ArtistName). Besides this
we are also unable to place this new member in a different folder other than a sub folder under the measures. Any pointers to solving this would be really helpful.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Venki

    Hi Venki,
According to your description, you need to create calculated member (similar to derived fields in SQL) which is more of a dimension attribute and not really a calculated member, right?
In your scenario, you needn't to achieve this requirement by using MDX. You can use a named query on your data source view. A named query is a SQL expression represented as a table. In a named query, you can specify an SQL expression to select rows and columns
returned from one or more tables in one or more data sources. So in you scenario, you can use your query on the DSV, and then use the modified table to create a dimension.

  • Install of SAP HANA Studio Dev Ed v1.00.80 fails with "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine"

    Hello,
Scope: JVM error during initial install of SAP HANA Studio Developer Edition v1.00.80, Win86/32bit
Source: installation files pulled from HANA Studio tab at https://hanadeveditionsapicl.hana.ondemand.com/hanadevedition/, which is a link from the main HANA site of http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/hana.  zip folder: "sap_hana_win32_studio_rev80"
Targeted O/S: Windows 7, 32-bit, local Java is SE 7, update 67.   Java environment has been confirmed via checks provided at http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
    Actions taken:
Attempted to update the installation's eclipse.ini file by reducing the -Xmx value; see details below.
Read thru postings such as http://scn.sap.com/thread/3390626 and the threads it recommended.
Checked OSS (ie Note 1859686 - HANA Studio does not start)
    Description of installation error:
Shortly after executing "hdbinst", it fails with the error "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine".  I've verified that there is nearly 3G of memory free.  What I did notice, as shown in the attached files, is that Eclipse is part of this installation and it's pre-loaded with the "eclipse.ini".  I firmly believe the solution could be to reduce parameter "-Xmx1024m" to "-Xmx512m" but it's a catch-22 because even after updating eclipse.ini (in installation folder C:\Program Files\SAP\hdbstudio\tmp_p2director2014.08.13_13.36.44\director), the install program requires that the "hdbstudio" folder to be empty upon restarting it.
Since the installation is basically a package with a lot of .jar files, there is no eclipse.ini file available in the source install folder; otherwise, updating it there would be the easiest solution if that option were available. The file is only available in the targeted deployment folder above.
If you have encountered this same error and were able to resolve it, I would be grateful to know of your solution.  Thanks very much.
FYI: the HANA Client installed with no issues.

FYI: the images below reflect the sequence of images produced during the installation.
after clicking OK above, the screen below gets updated (see the "is not empty" msg).
Below is the eclipse.ini file located in the deployed/target folder:

FYI: Using information from the SAP HANA Database - Studio Installation and Update Guide, I tried to override the installation's use of its eclipse.ini file by passing my own modified version (with "-Xmx512m") of that file that was placed in a separate folder.  The cmd used via DOS window was "hdbsetup.exe -a studio --configfile=C:\Users\Admin\Downloads\eclipse.ini" and even though it successfully launched the SAP HANA Lifecycle Management gui, it failed on the first step with the same JVM create error as above because it appears to have used its own eclipse.ini file, which has "-Xmx1024m".

Update: a message was opened with SAP but unfortunately they could not provide a resolution for this particular scenario.  They admitted that the eclipse.ini file cannot be updated since it is bundled as part of the installation package.  One point to make that I did not make before was that this was being attempted on an Oracle VirtualBox (4.3.10); the SAP HANA contact said he assumed that SAP has not tested this particular scenario, thus it could not be supported.
Resolution: the end result was to abort trying to install SAP HANA Client and Studio on the Oracle VirtualBox but to install it locally on my own desktop, which runs on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with 8G of memory.  The SAP HANA files below were downloaded, extracted and installed successfully in the order shown.
FYI: the Studio installation detected that a 64-bit version of Java was not installed so I installed that and then adjusted the User environmental variable JAVA_HOME to point to that new path, leaving the System variable still pointing to the pre-existing 32-bit Java path.
