ESW: No. of web services in the SAP ERP????

Dear Experts,
My small mind has a small question.
I somewhere heard that there are 1500 webservices in the SAP ERP.
I searched in the workplace to find out the details about the webservices.
But to my surprise I found near about 300 enterprise services interfaces and about 650 enterprise services operations.
Can anyone give me close to exact no. of webservices in the the latest release of SAP ERP?
thanks in advance
sudeep

Hi sudeep,
Please refer to the below article, It is said that
<i>SAP provides some 500 Web services through its Web site. Next year, the vendor plans to release a new version of NetWeaver, called the Business Process Platform, with a repository of built-in Web services</i>

    Hi,
you can find Web Services (Enterprise Services) in the Enterprise Services Workplace (ES Workplace). The ES Workplace allows you to explore, test, and use enterprise services to make enterprise SOA tangible. Here, you will find all of the currently productized enterprise services by SAP.

  • Questions on web services in the CRM system from abap

Hi, we are new to consuming web services within the abap engine and have a couple of questions
When we consume the webservice do we have access to the web.xml and ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptors is there a standard servicref element
Are these descriptors editable so we can add JAX/RPC client side messages to the service ref element
What are all the versions also as I can't seem to find any info also any documentation on the above if it exists would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers,
    Devlin

    Hi Devlin,
When you can consume the services with CAF core or deployable proxies within Netweaver04s, you are able to see the web.xml and the ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptors.
For Comsuming services within ABAP,this doc shoukd serve the purpose,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6066fbe8-edc4-2910-9584-a9601649747d
This doc shows how to provide and conmsume services in ABAP,

Also I found an old doc which talks about consuming in Netwaever, probably throws somelight on deployable proxies.

  • Calling web Service from the Custom Adapter. Is it Possible?

    Hi Experts,
I am having requirment in which i have to cal com.sap.aii.mapping.lookup.LookupService for calling web Service from the Custom Adapter. Is it Possible?
    Regards,
    Rajesh.D

    Hi Rajesh..
Just looking the problem in another angle.. if there is no constraint that you have to use XI specific API to call the web service, why dont you use usual Java API used for calling a web service inside you custom adapter (I have Microsoft background.. donno exactly how it is done in Java,, but in .NET kind of a language it is possible). SInce your adapter is in Java itself and is capable of calling web service.. collect or lookup the data whatever you want and validate...
    Just a thought..

  • Calling web-service from non-SAP client

    Hi,
Could anyone here help me with the code with which we can call the non-SAP service in java from a java client.
I have the wsdl and service deployed on the server.
    Regards,
    Manoj

    Hi Eduardo,
We are trying to consume a non-SAP webservice (https based) which uses a certificate issued by the non-SAP web service provider for authentication.
We tried consuming the web service using the Web Dynpro Java's Adaptive WebService Model method. We configured the Logical Destinations with X.509 client certificate authentication and have added the certificate to the WebServicesSecurity keystore.
However, when we run the application, we get the 'Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier' error.
Could you guide us on how to resolve the same ? If possible would you also provide the step-by-step details of how to create the EJB application that you did to achine this ?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Melwyn.

  • Can Web Service Consumption in SAP CRM 7.0 handle multiple records

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where in I need to Consume a web service in SAP CRM. The response of the web service will have multiple records.
My questions is will Web Service Consumption in SAP CRM 7.0 be able to handle these records in a popup or not.
I would like to know whether it is feasible or not.
    Thanks,
    Deepika

    Hi Kavita,
There is a standard column in UWL with name 'Sent Date'. Other functionalities in UWL for example deadline monitoring (Due date column) are based on this sent date. This shows an employee what was the date workitem was created (sent date) and when it will get escalated (due date). Displaying forwarding date in Sent date will not give clear picture to employee as the deadline will be calculated based on sent date only not based on forwarding date. this was just an example.
even though if your client is insisting, i dont think it can be done without any enhancement in UWL web dynpro com sort of thing. you can check with your portal consultant too.

  • Transport Webi Reports and Web services as the backend of dashboards from BO Production to BO Development system

    Hello Experts,
I am working on SAP BO 4.1. I have made several dashboards on top of web services ie;Web Service Method. I have 2 systems in BO ie; Development and Production Systems. The BW production system is connected to BO Development and Production both.
The Webi reports are made on top of BI BEx Query. From the webi reports, BI Web Services are made on top of which the dashboards are made further.
The Webi Reports, Web Services and the Dashboards everything is made directly in BO Production.
My question is, Can I transport the Webi Reports and the Web Services from BO Production to BO Development?
And If yes, will it have any other impact on webi reports, web services or dashboards?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Alfred Thomas

    Hi Gill,
As per your reply, with the promotion managament i have make the web services again manually in Dev system...Right?
Is there any way possible that i can transport the webservices and the webi reports usind Query AS A Web Service Designer. And if yes, through this QAAWS will the WSDL or the URL required for the web services in the connection button in dashboards will automatically updated or changed as per the Development System?
But i am not able to enable the "Deploy to Other servers Option" in QAAWS.

Yes, SAPHTTPA (runs on application server) and/or SAPHTTP (runs on front-end pc), one of which, is required for HTTP communication.  So far, nothing too elaborate as far as SOAP goes, but the logic is simplistic.  Here's some sample code:
      DEST = 'SAPHTTPA'.
      TRANSLATE HOST TO LOWER CASE.
      MYURL = 'wssrvTest/Service.asmx/GetByOrderItem'.
      CONCATENATE HOST MYURL INTO MYURL.
      REQUEST_HEADERS-DATA =
                  'Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded'.
      APPEND REQUEST_HEADERS.
      CLEAR REQUEST_HEADERS.

      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
           EXPORTING
                INPUT  = ORDER
           IMPORTING
                OUTPUT = ORDER.
*........Convert Item Number to External Format.........................
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
           EXPORTING
                INPUT  = ITEM
           IMPORTING
                OUTPUT = ITEM.
*........Convert Material Number to External Format.....................
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_OUTPUT'
           EXPORTING
                INPUT  = MATERIAL
           IMPORTING
                OUTPUT = MATERIAL.
      CONCATENATE 'sOrder=' ORDER
                   INTO REQUEST_BODY-DATA.
      APPEND REQUEST_BODY.
      CLEAR REQUEST_BODY.
      CONCATENATE '&sItem=' ITEM
                   INTO REQUEST_BODY-DATA.
      APPEND REQUEST_BODY.
      CLEAR REQUEST_BODY.
      CONCATENATE '&sMaterial=' MATERIAL

  • Consuming ABAP Web Service in Non SAP system

    Hi
I have created an ABAP web service form the RFC and configured it in the SOAMANAGER. I have tested it in Web Service Navigator using the URL and it is working fine.
Now I am trying to access it from the Non SAP system using Java Code. I am able to access the WSDL using the URL from the step 1 but not able to receive any output when providing inputs.
So I am not sure if I am missing any configuration on the Provider System (SAP) or on the Consumer system (Non SAP) to access the web service. As far I have not configured anything on the consumer system. Please let me know how to consume the web service in the Non SAP system.
    Thank you,
    Rohit

not necessarily an answer to your question, but i find that when creating SAP web services, before we create the code for consuming them, I always test them with the SOAPUI package. with this test suite you can import the WSDL, and run individual tests, seeing the input, output, exceptions, etc. This is a good way to check the connection, the flow and the service logic, before writing any code. This will also let you know whether it is a WS issue, or an issue with your code.
just a thought, from someone who has been there...
http://www.soapui.org is where you can find the SOAPUI. It helped me out a lot.

  • Calling ABAP Web Service on the system with two application servers

    Hello all,
I try to figure out, how to setup a web service in the TC WSCONFIG in the multi application server environment.
Basically the requirement is that when WSClient calls my WS, it should not care about accessibility of one or another application server. In other words the WS's URI should contain the IP/domain name of "SAP Web Dispatcher" or other component, which handles the loadbalancing.
I think it could be done in ICM within WSCONFIG transaction, but I'm completely lost inside the setup. Also I was not able to find proper helpsap page with the description.
Is there a WEBLOG or any other document how to setup this ?
Thank you for your help in advance.
    Regards
    Tom

    Hello,
You do not have anything to do in SAP transactions.
The HTTP load balancing is the SAP Web dispatcher job.
Just install and configure the web dispatcher. Follow HELP.SAP.COM, it is well explained.
We use this config to load balance 200 000 web servce calls/day on 5 abap application servers.

  • Create Web Service within the Portal

    Hi, all.
I want to use SAP Portal for generating Portal web services on a base of some external procedures.
But to use NWDS in such way as to implement this procedure in EJB and create a web service for it seems not the best solution for me.
Are there any other ways to do it? For example, are there any utilities that can help me to generate a web service within the Portal?
    Regards, Sergey.

    Hi,
Follow the steps given in the following link to create portal service.

  • Integrating a Java web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal

    Hello experts,
We have a requirement to integrate a Java based web application into the SAP NetWeaver Portal using iView/iFrame technology. The Java based web application is completely independent from the SAP environment but should be displayed as part of the SAP Portal environment. The other requirement is the main navigation menu for the Java based web application should be configured and provided in the SAP Portal.
Any pointers on how exactly this can be done would be of great help.
Also how can the SSO (Single-Sign-On) to the Java application be implemented so that the user can logon to the java application through the portal without providing the user credentials again.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think you can use URL iviews to integrate your java web application with EP. you have the option of doing SSO with the application as well.
Have a look at the sap help material

  • Search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help

    Hi,
I’m trying to create a generic search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help. It should working so, that I construct a Web Dynpro-component, that gets the data of the search help from the SAP-system, interpreted it and creates the ui-elements and the needed context generic.
The mapping between the Input field of the customerview and the right search help is to be made with an xml-file, which contains the information: name of the view, the input field, the search-help-name and the name of the field that will be returned.
The xml-file is reading from a helper-class. That helper-class contains any information, witch need the search help-component as well as the customer-component.
The initialization takes place in the method wdDoModify of the customer. The call of the search help from the customer should be implement with an Action, witch is bound to a Button(create dynamic in the helper-class behind the input field).
In a second foot should be create a plugin for eclipse, witch insert the used files (search help component, helper class, …) in the project. In addition it should create the call in the customer generic.
It would be great if someone can give me a feedback!

    Hi Mike,
The BlanketAgreement.exe is a reference to the executable that will be created when you compile the solution you created in Part II - Part III. I think there is a mistake in the tutorial because it asks you to name the project 'Blanket' which means that by default the executable will be called Blanket.exe and not BlanketAgreement.exe. The tutorial also misses the step asking you to compile the Blanket project before you go on to create an installer. You should compile your Blanket project in Release mode before creating an installer. By compiling the project you'll get a Blanket.exe file in the bin folder of your Blanket project which you then need to add to the installer per the instructions.
SAP do offer development courses in some areas and there is training material here on the SDN and on the SAP partner portal (and maybe the customer portal as well). Try searching this forum for 'training' or 'tutorial' and you should get a few links. There's also a development certification.
Personally I'd recommend you give yourself a little project to work on and just get stuck in
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • BizTalk to Web Service - Error - The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

    Hi Everyone,
I am connecting to an external web service from my biztalk application through a dynamic send port.
When my biztalk application is trying to send the request message to the web service through the send port, I am getting the following error :
The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
The external web service team have provided a certificate and a private key to install in my server.
I have installed the certificate by double click the .pfx file using the private key and have added the certificate in the host ProcessHostx64.
Still i am getting the same error.
Can someone help on this issue ?
    Many Thanks,
    Anand
    S B A

The Private Key should be installed under the user running the BizTalk Server Host. Please confirm that you have done this?
If so, try to make this work in a small .NET test Application before porting it to BizTalk, so that you can confirm that you do have sufficient credentials to call the Service.

  • How to deploy my own web services to the Start BPEL PM Server?

Recently, I am learning the JDeveloper BPEL Designer(version 10.1.2.0), I had finished my first BPEL process CreditFlow flowing the quickstart guider.
Now I wonder how to deploy my own web services to the Start BPEL PM Server? I mean I don't want to invoke the CreditRatingService as I did flowing the quickstart guider, but to invoke my own web servcies. Now I had made some web services with eclipse and deployed them to the tomcat5.0. but how can I invoke these my own web services just like I invoked the CreditRatingService in the JDeveloper BPEL Designer?
    Thank you!

Copy the WSDL file from your Tomcat server onto your development machine. Add them to your project in JDeveloper. Then add a partnerlink and specify the WSDL location. Then add you role, variables and compile!
