Events in iCal are gone!

I recently upgraded to the new mobileme calendar and just today i realized all of my events on my laptop are gone.  I can still see everything in mobileme, my iphone, itouch..but not my macbook pro. what happened?
I am running version 4.2.1 on my itouch - ical working perfectly
my macbook pro is 10.5.8  - ical not working
If i upgrade to Snow Leopard will that fix the problem?  I also just began using Time Machine about 1 month ago but haven't detected an issue till today.
Jim

You may want to try to change your MobileMe sync settings.
Go to
System Preferences>MobileMe>Sync>Advanced>Reset Sync Data
Choose "Calendars" from the drop down list and click the arrow that shows the animation going from MobileMe to the Computer.

  • Events in iCal are duplicated on my iPhone

Changes made to iCal on my phone (moved or added events) are not getting synced to my iCal on my desktop though I have "sync Calendars" checked in iTunes.  Meanwhile on my 3S phone, I am getting events showing up in duplicate or triplicate even.
Example:  Today I changed the date of an event that was scheduled for the 16th to the 17th, while on my phone.  I synced when I came home, but the event still shows up on the 16th in iCal on my desktop.
Example:  Two days ago I changed the time of a class (repeating event) I'm teaching this summer from a 4pm start to a 430 start using iCal on my desktop.  Now my iPhone shows two events, one at 4pm and one at 430, for every class session.
Twice now I have selected Advanced: Replace information on this iPhone: Calendars without it solving the problem.  The multiple events still stay on my phone.
Last week I had to migrate my user profile from my Time Capsule to a friend's machine while mine was in the shop.  Afterwards I backed up the current copy of my profile on the TC, then erased my profile on my machine, and migrated the new copy in.  I don't know if this is related but the issue with events not copying over to iCal from my phone properly did start last week I think.

  • New events in iCal are automatically created with an Email alert

How do I change the default alert method?

Thanks Barney. To answer your first idea, these aren't alerts of the "alert me 15 minutes before the start of the event" type. Subscribers can switch those off by selecting "Ignore Alerts" in the calendar's Info pane:
My problem is that email alerts are being raised after any and all activity in my calendar:
If I create an event, subscribers receive an immediate email (like the one below)
If I change the title of an event (i.e. 100% of the time), subscribers receive another an immediate email. This clearly wrong behaviour makes me wonder if we've encountered a bug.
If I edit an event, subscribers receive an immediate email.
If I delete an event, subscribers receive an immediate email.
Secondly, these messages are apparently coming from iCloud. Here's what the subscriber sees when I create an event (I created this without editing the title, hence "New Event"):
I deleted my calendar from my wife's iCal calendar list and added it again. No change. I created a new calendar, and subscribed her to it, no change. Oh, and I am subscribed to her calendar, but I receive no email alerts (which is what we want).
She has an iPhone but I can't find any setting there that demands an email update for all calendar activity.
Finally, I'd add that it hasn't always been like this. These alerts only appeared recently.

  • All day events in calendar are gone. how do i retrieve these data?

this happened after updating to iOS7. unfortunately, i can not find the information and these were all my birthdays and important reocuring events.

I lose my data every time we have a new year!  I lost all my upcoming appointments and had to call to find out when I had to go to doctors, vets, etc. Or when workmen are scheduled to come to my home.  I am VERY frustrated with it!

  • Events in Ical are duplicated

one of the calendars that I am subscribed to has all the events duplicated; how can i delete this duplicates with out erasing the main event?

The same thing is happening to me when I import a vCal file from Palm Desktop into iCal. I would love a solution also. Good luck!

  • All events and albums are gone from iPhoto

My library is still in the same location and still 540GB big, but when I open it there is nothing in iPhoto.

My library is still in the same location and still 540GB big, but when I open it there is nothing in iPhoto.
What has changed?  Did you just update or upgrade iPhoto to the new version 9.6, to be compatible with Yosemite?
Is iPhoto opening the correct library? Ctrl-click the word "iPhoto" in the title bar of the main iPhoto window. The drop-down menu will show you, which iPhoto library is currently open.
If the correct library is open, but looking empty, select the iPhoto Library in the Finder and look inside by ctrl-clicking it and using the command "Show Package Contents". Are there photos in the folder "Masters", or is there a folder "Old Masters"?

  • Help: I cannot see or edit events in iCal.  What to do?

Please help. I cannot open the event editor to change or see contents of an event. I am using an Intel MacBook, iCal, and The Missing Sync for Palm with a Palm Centro. The events show fine on my Centro, but I cannot double-click the events on iCal on my MacBook in order to see or edit the attached notes. Maybe an unrelated problem is that times of events in iCal are not the same on my Centro (some are, some are not). I cannot seem to determine what happened to the events as shown on my MacBook. Any ideas?

I talked to AppleCare support earlier today and they guided me to the solution. Seems like my iCal file had became corrupted for some reason (iCal or Palm Centro or Missing Sync to blame?--who knows). Anyway, the solution was to remove the file "com.apple.iCal.plist" Once that was done, iCal recreated the file after I reopened iCal and all was well. We'll see how long this fix lasts -- I hope forever.

  • Sync phone with iCal deletes old events in iCal

Whenever I use iSync to sync my mobil phone old events in iCal are deleted. This never used to happen, I need the old events for work. Can anyone help?

I also upgraded to the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac v 1.0.6 (Build 16).
I synchronized my calendar and EVERYTHING from iCal was deleted.  Fortunately, my Blackberry Calendar is intact.  Despite this annoyance, this is still a major improvement over the first time I installed the desktop (sarcasm intended).
I also tried creating an event on iCal and synchronized.  This new event sychronized with my Blackberry.  When I open the event the Send Using entry is the same email address that I used for all my other entries on my Blackberry.
So basically, my Blackberry Events don't sync to my iCal, but my iCal events sync with my Blackberry.
<RANT> It is very baffling why RIM hasn't been able to solve these problems for the past 3 years.  I'm still happier using Parallels with Microsoft Outlook (it hurts to say that) than using this unreliable product.  It's things like these that prevent me from using my Mac Calendar and Address Book.  The proposition value for switching to an iPhone is looking better every day.</RANT>

  • ICal calendar list is empty and all events are gone

My iCal calendar list shows up empty and all my calendar events are gone as well. I read posts with a similar issue where the list of calendars disappeared yet the events remained. In this case, everything is missing.
I tried deleting the ical plist file but it did not help.
    Has anyone else seen this?

    i deleted everything under
    ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook

  • My reminders are gone from my Ical since upgrade.  What do I need to do to input reminders in Ical and be able to print reminders with my ical.  Thank you

My reminders are gone from my Ical since upgrade.  What do I need to do to input reminders in Ical and be able to print reminders with my ical.  Thank you

I totally agree.  I just wasted .5 hrs trying to figure out how to manipulate and sync the reminders with the iCAl.  Thanks for posting this thread online, I can stop wasting my time now.  Apple, please change it back or make these apps sync.
Side note.  I was creating my to do list and found the ability to asign a date by draging the task to the calendar in the bottom right.  Then I discovered that I can drag that same reminder/to-do task into iCal and it will be created as an event. Would be great if I could simply sync the reminders to iCal instead of draging them over though.  Then when I make the change in one the other can update with the next sync.  This also prevents human error if I drag and drop the reminder onto the wrong date in iCal.

  • Calendar events are gone

the events in my personal calendars were gone when i launced. the calendar names are still visible [and checked for viewing], but all of the entries are gone.
except for the holiday calendar that i'm subscribed to.

    Hi Kerri,
Try making a new user login and using iCal in the login. If it works ok this means that the problem has something to do with the data in your user login.
The most likely thing to have gone wrong if it is in your user data is a corrupted calendar. This can show up in various ways. The most common one is not being able to see the event data in any of your calendars.
Try this: Open iCal. Take a tick out of every calendar check box in the list. Add a tick into one calendar. Do the events for this calendar appear? Uncheck this calendar and try doing the same with the next one. Do this for all of your calendars in the list. What works, what doesn't?
How do you sync your data? With .mac, or with other software?

  • Changed calendar association, now events are gone!

I have both work and personal calendars on my iCal.  For work purposes (i.e. support testing, etc), I changed the calendar association of one of my repeating events and now it's gone!  I changed the event from my "Work" calendar to one of my work's gmail calendars.  Both the gmail calendar and the Work calendar now are checked, but the events are gone!
I have verified that both calendars ("Work" and gmail account) have "Calendar" sharing checked off under Account Settings.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Not sure if it's related, but just prior to this, I enabled a subscription to a work calendar to my gmail account calendar.  These work events are showing up normally on the gmail calendar sub of iCal.

Make sure to go to your Calendar app and tap on "Calendars" at the bottom in the middle of the screen. Then check the calendar which you want to add events to.
If this does not help, go to Settings > iCloud and make sure that the Calendar sync option is set to ON.
Finally, restart the iPhone by holding the HOME button for several seconds and turning the device off/on.
