Every cut I make in the sequence window leaves one remaining frame from its deleted neighbor clip. How do I turn off this feature - It is driving me mad.

Here are 3 pictures detailing what I'm experiencing.
Picture 1; clip 1 tail frame.
Picture 2; clip 2 head frame.
Picture 3; clip 2 head frame is now tail frame of clip 1.
does this help describe what is happening? Basically every cut I make
leaves an unwanted frame as a ghost of the missing cut.

With the position of the power button on the Retina MacBooks, any mistake turns off the screen in the middle of a presentation or any activity using a projector or big screen — a huge waste of time to wake up the display, enter password, have the projector sync back, watch audience disconnecting from what was being discussed, etc.
This is very annoying, and seems to add to the increasing collection of options Apple decided to make by itself instead of allowing the user to choose.
Come on Apple guys, I'm using my Mac because I want options and lots of preferences to tweak to my needs.
If I needed the lobotomized version I'd be using my iPad!
Any way (official or hack) to change this button back to its proper funcionality?

Not what you want, but you can get the shut down / restart / sleep dialog by holding the power button

Firefox is remembering logins and passwords even when I've set the options to clear them when I exit. I access confidential sites and do not like this. How can I turn off this feature?

If you mean websites remembering you by saving cookies via session restore then you can try this.
You can set the pref browser.sessionstore.privacy_level to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS, default in Firefox 3 versions) on the about:config page to disable saving cookies via session restore.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
Reset PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

With this version of Firefox, it automatically loads the 'next' page. When I'm reading blogs, when I click to go back, it automatically loads the first page of the blog as the 'next' page I want to go to. That is not standard behavior. You may have installed an extension that causes it.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

to enter data in fields in forms and even in the search bar I have to press the tab key. If i do not press tab the silly mac beeps at me and won't let me type. I asked the mac geniuses and they blame firefox, guessing you guys will blame mac... but it is really annoying.

Open Windows Media Player.
Go to Tools > Options > Library and unchheck everything.
This will keep WMP from changing everything in teh background.
Then re-edit all your info in iTunes.
iTunes automatic music info feature keeps changing the genres, and occasionally albums, whenever I select a song.
It only looks like iTunes is changing the info.
When a file is first added to iTunes, the file info read and stored in the iTunes database and this is what is displayed. Whenever an item is actually played in iTunes, it will reread the info from the file.
Since WMP has changed the info in the background, iTunes will reread the info and update the database and disply the changed info.

'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible.
