Every time I open Firefox 4 a popup box keeps trying to get me to run setup again. The box always reads: "Opening Firefox Setup 4.0.1.exe, Binary File from...." followed by a link address, which is different every time. Recent addresses: http://mirror.umoss.org.......also http://mozilla.mirrors.tds.net....also http://mozilla.ussg.indiana.edu
and so on.

I am having the same problem and it seems to have just started (6/15/11). I have tried reloading the program several times and even the first release of the 4.o with no success. The same scenario also occurs when I click to open a new "tab" after the browser is already launched.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, triple-click the following line of text to select it:
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy (command-C) the text to the Clipboard. Then select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar and paste (command-V) into the box that opens. A Finder window may open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If so, delete the selected folder.
Select Go to Folder again and enter:
/Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items, if they exist. You may be prompted for your login password.
Application Support/Conduit
InputManagers/CTLoader
LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the folder. Now select Go to Folder one more time and enter:
/Applications/Toolbars
Delete that item. Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

There was a security update through Software Update a couple of months ago for 10.6.8 that caused this kind of problem for PPC applications. Apple issued a revised update a couple of days later. So my first suggestion is to run Software Update to make sure you have the updated update. You can also manually download the updater at this link.
Whenever AppleWorks quits unexpectedly or you force quit it, there will be some corruption of its preferences.
To delete AppleWorks’ preference files, go to HD > Users > Library > Preferences. Find and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist. Find and open the folder AppleWorks in this Preferences folder, then delete all of the enclosed files (with the exception of the Button Bar Preferences if you have customized the Button Bars). AppleWorks will recreate the preference files as it needs them.

When I open Firefox, I get a page that says that Firefox did not direct properly and to try again. When I click the try again, the home page opens. What can I do to avoid this. It just started today. Rebooting does not help.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Every time a page loads, I get a small box with the number 2 in it and ok in it.

The small box has OK and it has a button that says "ok". I can click on the ok and it disappears, but the next page that loads, it comes back again.

I clicked on the link you provided me and I have tried all options but nothing has helped. I actually got another window that says "prevent this page from creating additional dialog" with an OK button on the bottom. I clicked ok, then the other window comes up for awhile. Occasionally, the prevent this page comes up.

Just several ideas to be checked:
1. Please, verify the prerequisites of Operations Console listed by the following link:

2. Install all the SCOM related system updates.
3. Clear SCOM Console cache:

4. Try to clean up Ops Manager cache on SCOM Management server. To do this stop Microsoft Monitoring Agent service, navigate to SCOM installation path (by default, C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server) and
delete Health Service State folder. Start Microsoft Monitoring Agent service afterwards.
5. If nothing helps, maybe try to reinstall SCOM Console.

Why doesn't firefox close out when I'm done with it and close it; when next I try to open firefox again I get a dialog box telling me firefox is open and to close it or restart my computer? I'm tired of doing that one of more times a day.

1. This happens at least once a day, and sometimes multiple times. Today it's happened twice, thus far. My home page is FoxNews.com and if I leave it up overnight or for longer periods during the day firefox doesn't allow the refresh of the home page it just goes to yahoo 404--error can't find the webpage. One situation in which Command+w or Ctrl+w might not work is if the "focus" is in a plugin such as the Flash player used on Youtube after you interact with the player controls.
