Windows drivers for Intel wireless cards are known problematic.. If you have plenty of signal and it still cannot keep or hold the connection the issue can simply be the type of wireless.
Another problem is using names that windows does not easily handle.
eg If you set the TC using apple names, like
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule wireless24ad12
Then to windows this is too long.. it has spaces and it has illegal character.
Change all names on the TC to suit windows. Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Also security must be suitable.. I have no idea how old or what OS your dell is, but if you still have issues.. pull off the security on the TC for a test.. if the computer suddenly works, it is not compatible with WPA2 AES. Make sure you also use a password that is mix upper and lower case plus numbers.. avoid special characters and make it 10-20 characters long say.. it is not required to be more than that unless you are paranoid.

Welcome to the Apple Community Tarskforce.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Does anybody know what Crun::zero_ints does?

I'm debugging a core dump from an optimized C++ application, so I don't have any debugging information and have only the capability to dissasemble the SPARC machine code inside the frames of my application's statck. I realize that knowing what "zero_ints" does may not seem important, but since my application is optimized, I am trying to retrace the steps that brought the SPARC registers to the point they were when the crash occurred. My application crashed just after a call to std::fstream::tellg(), and I can see from the SPARC disassembly that this zero_ints function was called just before that. If I could find out what "zero_ints" does I think it would help me account for the final values of the SPARC registers at the point of the crash.
    Thank you very much!

I saw a post from Steve Clamage in a previous question/thread that states that libCrun.so.1 only contains code supporting exceptions, operators new and delete, and RTTI and typeid. So this "zero_ints" (since in comes from libCrun.so.1) is probably doing something supporting one of these functions.
I saw a call to "zero_ints' just before a call to std::fstream::tellg, and we were not throwing nor catching any exceptions in the code, so I was also wondering, in addition to my original question about what "zero_ints" does, why would a function ("zero_ints") from libCrun.so.1 (which doesn't contain the bulk of the Standard C++ library code) appear in the SPARC disassembly of code surrounding tellg, seekg, and operator>> (with operator>> streaming into a std::fstream). It seems to be doing something related to those file streams related functions. But what?
    Thanks

IF it is a manufacturing defect and you bought the device from Apple or an authorized Apple retailer, then take it into Apple.

  • My Mac is doing strange things: delaying between users, mouse flickering and bouncing, gets stuck with rainbow wheel flickering. I ran the appel hardware test and it detected an error: 4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1233 Does anybody know what that means? HELP!

My imac is doing strange things:
-delaying between users: when closing session it goes to blue, then takes a while to appear users signin box, and then wont recognize mouse command to enter until a couple of minutes later... then everything seems alright until....
-it gets stuck between things, the rainbow wheel appears and its just delays there forever....
-and every now and then the mouse starts flickering and bouncing wildly onscreen.
I ran the appel hardware test and it detected an error:
    4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1233
Does anybody know what that means? HELP!

WZZZ answered about where to get iStat. And do check the SMART status. If it is an overheating problem due to a fan or logic board problem, your hard drive is possibly cooking itself to death. If so it isn't a faulty hard drive even though the hard drive might fail. So assuming it's a temperature problem, even if you are able to repair things on the disk with software, that is working on symptoms, not causes. I could be wrong however.
RE: AppleCare: Your iMac came with one year of AppleCare (Apple's warranty program), but within the first year you can buy 2 more years. You have to extend by the one year anniversary of purchase of the computer. Your 10,1 is too old to still be in the first year, and since you asked what it was, I'm sure you don't have it. Bottom line meaning is that whatever this problem turns out to be, you'll have to pay for it. Unless there is something like this. It is for 2011 iMacs with certain Seagate drives. You can put in your serial number for fun, but it looks like yours is too old. Lastly, some people have had Apple help them anyway if it is just out of warranty, but many have not. Your machine is one of these. Type in 10,1 in the search box. Is there an Apple Store near you? Just b/c it's out of warranty doesn't mean you shouldn't have it looked at by Apple. But no one here can say at all what Apple will or will not do.
Hope you get it taken care of!

  • After downloading the latest version of iTunes and updating my iPhone everytime I turn on my computer I get a message that reads: AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. Does anybody know what this means?

After downloading the latest version of iTunes and updating my iPhone, everytime I turn on my computer I receive a message that reads: "AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQlite.dll" Help! Does anybody know what this means and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Yes.  I just solved the problem on my PC.  Here goes...
Issue:  My Windows7 computer was producing the pop up box with the error text as you described.
The Problem: You have another application on your computer that uses the like named .DLL file... in this case a DLL supporting SQLite on your local PC.
    Solution:
    1.  You need to use the Windows File search feature to look for the name "SQLite".  This will quickly locate the offending DLL in the other application.
    2. Decide which program you like the most, in my case "Mobile Me", and uninstall the offending application.
    3.  Uninstall Mobile Me.
    4.  Restart your PC.
    5.  Reinstall Mobile Me.
    6.  Mobile Me should sync at this point, but if not, restart the PC once again.
In my case, the offending program was my Aptana Studio development application.  I had recently the SQLite3 database to my Ruby On Rails configuration...
This is where the file was located:
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Aptana Studio 2.0\plugins\com.aptana.radrails.sqlite3.win32_3.5.7.1278709071\vendor\SQLite3.d ll
    I hope this helps,

  • Mac pro monitor has a shadow in its center. Does anybody know what can cause that?

Last day my mac pro showed a shadow in its display center. Does anybody know what can cause?
I use to use it a litle, cause i'm new on macs and still use pc based on windows.

Who made the monitor?  Is it even Apple?
If you have the right connections, try swapping out the monitor with your PeeCee monitor and see if the problems stays or goes.   But does sound like a monitor issue.  But then, hard to know what you mean by shadow...

  • Does anybody know if they are doing a trade-up to the new iphone 4 from 3G

does anybody know if they are doing a trade-up to the new iphone 4 from 3G

If by "they" you mean Apple, then no.
If you mean dealers in phones and contracts then the answer is yes. At least in the UK anyways.

Does RemoteHD work on a machine without a built in IR sensor, or does anybody know what would work?

I can't vouch for this as I've never tried one, but I think this does what you're after.

  • My iPhone 5s is plugged in. It does not show that it is charging but gives the alert "ding" sound every 15-16 seconds. Does anybody know what could be the problem?

My iPhone 5s is plugged in. It does not show that it is charging but gives the alert "ding" sound every 15-16 seconds. Does anybody know what could be the problem?

It sounds like it starting to charge, then suddenly stops over and over.  This can happen if the cable or adapter is bad or if your charing port has an issue.
Try using a different cable and/or wall adapter.  If the issue continues, it's probably the iPhone.  If it does not continue, then it's the cable or adapter.  Continue to swap to see what's bad.
If you don't have another cable or adapter to test will, take your iPhone and your cable/adapter combo to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.  They can help you narrow the issue down and provide service as indicated. https://locate.apple.com/country

If the iPad is running iOS 7, the security feature is called Activation Lock.
There is no way around it. Hopefully he will be able to get the Apple ID password
