You need to contact Apple Support, particularly iTunes Store support team.  Cheers!

  • Why am i getting an error message that says "an unknown error has occured" when i try to update my apps in the app store

Can someone please offer some suggestions why I am getting an error message that says "an unknown error has occured" when I try to download or update my apps in the app store?
    Thanks!
disregard! i noticed someone else's post about signing out of the app store and signing in again and it worked.....

    Hi ...
Try here > Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
If that doesn't help, drag the App Store icon straight up off your Dock so it goes, "poof".
Now drag the App Store icon from your Applications folder to the Dock. Try updating your apps.

    Hello Laura,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I found an article that has information about Error 29:
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

Try deleting the cache associated wi the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
    Try the App Store.

  • When I try to sign in to the App store, I get a message that says "An unknown error has occurred" and I cannot sign in.

When I try and sign in to the App Store, I get an error message that says "An unknown error has occurred". The Apple Store told me to contact Apple Care which I did. They determined it was not an issue with my computer and thought it was an issue with the App Store.
They had me contact the iTunes Store instead of the App Store because they said that was the technician I needed. The iTunes Store rep told me there was no issue with my iTunes account and told me "The issue could have been temporary, related to your internet connection, your local network, or your computer itself."
This issue has been happening for a few months and as I said above, Apple Care said it was not my computer.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Restart your Mac then try again.

  • I can't connect with the App store.  It says "An unknown error has occurred"

This just started a few days ago on my MacBook Pro.  My account is working fine - I can access it on my phone.  But I can't get to it on my computer.
The first sign of trouble was when I tried to use a previously purchase app.  The app wouldn't open and gave me a message saying it wasn't purchased on this computer (which it was) and that I needed to enter my password.  When I entered it, it said "An unknown error has occured".  The first time it happened, I rebooted the machine and then the app opened and I was fine.  Next day same problem.  Our IT guy (not a real IT guy, I work for a small company and he is the most knowledgable about computer so he gets to do double duty) suggested making sure all software was up to date.  I downloaded updates, the computer rebooted, and I was fine again.  Day three comes and same problem.  Rebooting didn't help.  IT guy suggests upgrading to latest OS.  But when I try to access the app store to get the new OS, it asks for my password, and then says "An unknown error has occurred".  The computer can see my account.  It has my ID right, and I have a credit balance which I just updated last night and is being properly reflected on the home page.  But I can't buy anything or see details about my account.  I keep getting the same pop-up.
Any idea what is happening or how to fix this?

    On what OS?

  • It says "An unknown error has occured" when trying to download apps?

Just got a new iPod touch 4g from my parents. Trying to download apps and it is saying "An unknown error has occured". Any idea? I am all registered and stuff for app store and such. I have no idea and this *****. Any ideas?

Were you able to find a solution to this issue? I am also getting the 'an error has occurred' message when trying to download or update any apps on my iPhone. Restarted, updated, re-booted, etc etc, nothing has worked.

  • Trying to download Maverick, and keep getting "an unknown error has occurred'

Trying to install maverick, keep getting 'an unknown error has occured' message when I try to login to my apple account

Just saw the post from makras.
There are always a few problems with a new OS. Apple can't police every maker of crapware that's on the planet.
If you have a WD external drive, I would transfer (not clone) the files from it to another non-WD external drive that doesn't have crapware on it, and then erase the WD drive, and then never ever again buy a WD drive.
You will find many posts on the Apple Discussions from disgruntled narcissists (a few borderlines too) who blame Mavericks for their computer problems.
Mavericks is excellent (at least for me).
Every new OS has some incompatibilities with older software. That's why if someone is an early adopter, they should understand this, and if they have a low tolerance for frustration, or are uncomfortable with basic mac maintenance and troubleshooting, they should not be an early adopter.
Seems like the vast majority of problems that people complain about on the forums are related to crapware they have acquired on their computers from previous installations and promiscuous downloading habits.
