Everytime I try to open firefox it says it is already running. I restarted it, and unistalled it and it still says it's running?? What to do?
When I try to open firerox I get a pop up saying it's already running? I checked the taskbar to see if there are any firefox running, there were not, so I restarted my computer and I still got the same error message. So then I uninstalled firefox from my computer and then reinstalled, now I'm still getting the SAME error message!

You can disable autoupdate by following these steps:
Go to main menu > Tools > Options > click on Advanced tab > click on Update tab and then click on the round radio button that says ''Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)''

Every time I try to open FireFox I am asked if I want to allow changes. It has always just opened up no problem. The first time this happen I responded allow but when it came up everything looked different. Will I always have to do this from here on out?
This error is usually caused because Firefox is set to run as Administrator.
Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.<br />
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\). -
After trying to update Firefox, get a dialogue box everytime I try to open Firefox.
Tried to update Firefox. Now have two separate Firefox icons on my desktop. When I try to open either one, I get a dialogue box reading: "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again." Firefox loads fine after closing box. Fix?
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

For the past 3-4 hours, I have been trying to se Firefox to open. It refuses to open and crashes each time. I've sent Crash Reports each time.

I have gone to the ad ons and can not find anything that has sweetjacks listed. can you please help me, i need to get rid of this as it takes over and runs even though my settings are on bing as my default. Skype was working fine with the OS X Lion but ever since I upgraded, it has constantly been freezing. I've decided to drag it to trash and download the .dmg file from the Skype website once again. Are others facing the same problem?
Also, what are the associated files I should delete from the Library (Preferences, Caches etc) to remove Skype completely?Well, this problem is fixed. I deleted all the files associated with Skype from the Library. Reinstalled it and the main thing, unlinked Skype from Facebook. Now it works fine!

I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. I would appreciate some help. I don't know what else to try. I use firefox as my default browser.
