Excel 2007 Window Minimizes while typing

Hi,
We have a user with a slightly different type of issue. The user has 2 monitors, and when Excel is in the second screen, the active window will sometimes, suddenly, become minimized. We have been able to reproduce this event, and confirmed that
no keyboard shortcut is being pressed to cause this. Also, not all windows on the 2nd display minimize - just the active Excel window.
Finally, when this happens, the window seems to just disappear, not a "fade to the taskbar" like a normal "minimize" function. The document is closed, so there is no data loss, but the work-flow is interrupted and is very frustrating
for this VIP user.
We are running Office 2007 with Outlook 2010, and all the latest updates and service packs.
Any help you can suggest would be appreciated.

Excel 2007-SAP Copy & Paste Issue

I'm not sure this is the correct forum so if it needs to be moved please let me know.
I am not a programmer, but we have a custom transaction that allows financial personnel to copy rows (sometimes tens of thousands) of data from Excel into SAP - which has the Office Integration tool excel embedded in the screen. Sometimes the user may have one or several different Excel 2007 windows open and one more SAP client windows open. Both SAP and Excel will periodically "lock up" or "freeze" after either one or several copy and paste functions. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. The only common theme I can gather is it only happens in Excel 2007 and not Excel 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using SAP Gui 710 Patch Level 13
All PC's have at least the minimum required to run Office and SAP if not more in most cases.

I am getting some problems in copying text from crm web ui portal to excel 2007. I am not sure about this, as it is SAP related problem or with windows 7.
Earlier we were using Windows XP but now after windows 7 we are getting this problem and its not only for web ui, but I copied some text from SAP marketplace into excel2007 and it shows popup which asks for credetials, even if you give your all possible credentials it doesnt work and you have to kill the Excel from task manager.
Can you please guide me in this.

Bring Excel 2007 to the front when called from LabView v9 in Windows 7

I am building a duplicate system using Windows 7, LabView v9 and Excel v2007. The original system used WinXP, Excel 2007 and LabView v8.6. The issue is that the original system was able to bring Excel to the front when called from Labview using the property node -application-> visible. This new configuration runs Excel, loads the data, runs the macros but does not bring Excel to the front. The icon blinks in the Win7 taskbar and when selected displays over LabView. If I minimize the Labview window, Excel is there. This leads me to conclude that Excel is visible, as requested but will not come to the front until selected from the taskbar. The only differences, besides the versions, is the original system template files used the .xls extension in and was run in Excel in compatible mode. At the customers request, the new system uses the .xlsm extension on the Excel template files. I have tried using application.visible = True in the macro as well. Could be a setting in Labview? Could be a setting in Excel? Could be .xls vs. .xlsm? Or an issue with Windows 7 and the newer version of Labview.

I will try the windowstate change. Were these done in succession? (i.e. property node -> property node -> property node) Or were they done along the way such as call the ActiveX open and a property node then in a worksheet modification area etc. so there was some time between calls?
I am not sure about the API since the discussion there is with regard to DDE. (Taken from the link document: If you want to call a DLL that contains ActiveX
objects, use the Automation
Open VI with the Property
Node and the Invoke
Node.). I am calling Excel as an application not as a library call unless I am mistaken, which I could certainly be. Are you thinking that once Excel is active through the Automation Open VI that a DLL call to set the application visible would work? I may be trying this already but in Excel through the use of the macro I call from LabView. It contains application.visible = True at the beginning before reading files and plotting data.
I may try sprinkling Property node with application->visible in various locations in the LabView diagram as I do update cells after the call to the plot macro. The puzzle for me is the blinking Excel icon in the task bar. This means active and running but not visible or something wrong as well. There are a few #VALUE cells if not all test in the system are run. Again not a problem in Excel 2007-WinXP-LV8.6

Skype freezes while typing at random times. Window...

I'm using Windows 8 Pro (64-bit), along with the desktop version (not the app). But I also recall having a bit of trouble with this on my laptop (Windows 7 home edition 64-bit) as well.
At random times in the middle of my typing, Skype will freeze. It will remain frozen for a few minutes. When this happens, I usually just minimize it and do something else and check back on it to see if it's working. It always unfreezes, I haven't had a crash yet. However, this is getting to be very annoying. It happens rather frequently and interrupts my chat with friends.
I have already made sure that skype is not running in ADMIN or DEBUG mode, etc etc. I'm also using the latest version of Skype.
What could be causing this? And how might I be able to fix it?

30-60 second random freezes while typing. No crash. And call still work.
These type of Microsoft FAILS can surely drive a person to insanity.

Mouse wont move while typing - Windows 10

i just bought a new laptop and upgraded to windows 10. when ive gone to play games like minecraft i have relised i cant move the mouse while typing. I searched on the internet and have disabled smartsense and the mouse will move for a second then stop. ive searched everywhere and cant fix it. Please someone help

To use Excel as a datasource, you need to defined a named range in the spreadsheet, with the first row containing the column names.

Excel 2007 Problems while sending E-Mail with Excel Attachment

Hello all,
i wrote a small WD application for uploading a file and sending this file
vie e-mail to some recipients.
I'm using class "cl_document_bcs". No problem with ".doc", ".pdf", also no problem
with ".xls" files generated by old Excel version. But when generating an .xls document with
Excel 2007, the attached file is not readable (just non usable signs).
For attaching the .xls file i use:

Are there any restrictions regarding Excel 2007?
The data element of i_type is just char3, so XLSX
wouldn't be possible.

if you Programatically generation a excel file and you have 2007 version you can use OLE automation to save file as .xls i.e. a 2003 work book ..
if you have a excel file ready and you just want to send it across the you will have to convert the xlsx to xls and then send it you can do this as well using OLE automation
(in 2007 in SAVE AS option you can save it excel 97 2003 workbook)

Cannot Save New Document to SP2010 from Excel 2007

I have two users who cannot save a new file from Excel 2007 to Sharepoint 2010 using the network share path. They receive the following error:
You cannot save the file you selected. The folder you selected is not an actual file system location.
However, other users can save this way with not trouble at all.
When they have the Excel file open, they go to Save As... and the window opens. Then they type in the path to the Sharepoint library where they want to save the file: \\intranet\DavWWWRoot\site\library\
At this point, they should be able to click the Save button and the window will refresh to the Sharepoint library. They would then be able to enter the name of the file and click the Save button again. However, when they click the Save button the first time
to refresh the window, nothing updates and the path they just typed goes away.
My first thought was an issue with permissions, but I've checked and double checked that they are in the correct group.
Then I decided to go even more basic and have them use Windows Explorer to browse to the location. They were able to.
I then had them right click within Windows Explorer, select New, and click Text Document. Not only were they able to create the new text file, but I confirmed it updated
the Sharepoint library successfully. So, that obviously rules out any issues with permissions.
Out of sheer frustration, I even tried mapping a network drive to the Sharepoint library and having them save to the mapped drive location, which of course yielded the exact same error.
I have also double checked that the Webclient service is running on the machines.
One more piece to note is that these two users are still running XP. They'll be upgraded to Win7 later this year, but this needs to work before then.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Exporting data to Excel 2007 from SAP report

Dear all,
Earlier we used to have Excel 2003 and while downloading data from MC.9 Report - Export - Transfer to XXL, we could able to download the data.
Now we have installed Excel 2007 and trying to download the data from MC.9 report, its opening excel, but no data is being copied,,, blank excel sheet,,,, further we could not able to download the data.
Is there any setting need to be done in SAP reporting or excel 2007 to download the data to Excel 2007.

Pl. go through the following step.
1. Execute MC.9
2. Select (click on) key figure column
3. Select Time series Button (CtrlShiftF4)
Now seperate window will come.
4. Select the button Save to PC file (shift+F8)
By this procedure you can download to excel

"Out of memory" error using SmartView v11.1.1.3.500, MS Excel 2007 & MS Win7 Prof SP1 (all 32-bit)

Hi All,
A user is regularly experiencing "Out of memory" error messages while retrieving large MS Excel 2007 worksheets (ad-hoc analysis; approx 700 rows by 13 columns) connected to a Planning cube via 32-bit SmartView v11.1.1.3.500 (Build 008) on a 32-bit MS Windows 7 Prof (SP1) computer with 4GB of RAM. The same user is reporting experiencing a number of other issues (eg, TCP-related time-out, unable to connect to the APS, SmartView add-in disappearing, etc) at the same time.
I could not locate any specific KB document from the My Oracle Support website which addressed these specific issues all at once but from various posts out there, the recommendations to address similar issues were as follows:
Tick the Options > Display > Reduce Excel file size option;
Tick the Options > Display > Improve metadata storage option;
Rebuild the MS Excel workbook from scratch;
Delete all temp files located in the C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp directory;
Disable auto-recovery for MS Excel;
Add misc TCP-related registry entries (eg, TcpTimedWaitDelay, MaxUserPort, MaxFreeTcbs, etc) on both the client PC and server;
Adjust MS Windows for best performance;
Increase the page file by 25%-50% more than the physical amount of RAM installed on the client PC;
Relocate the page file to a different drive as compared to the drive where MS Windows is installed on the client PC;
On top of the above, are there any other recommendations anyone else would like to share to address the "Out of memory" issue?

Monitor the Full GC in GC log and see if there is any gradual increase in the free memory retained after every Full GC over a period, if there is a gradual increase and if its reaching maximum specified heap over a period of time, that means there might be some slow leak from application or native libraries.
Also please check if you have any pattern or request which might be triggering OOM all of the sudden.
If its memory leak best way to investigate that is to capture JRA's at regular interval's and monitor top 10 objects and see which one is growing and consuming more % of heap over a period of time.
You can also have this by captured by print_object_summary and print_memusage options in JRCMD command over a period of time.

In my system MS Office 2007 is installed. I am trying to generating excel sheets from JSP page by setting the content type "application/vnd.ms-excel" in jsp page and as well as in web.xml file. I am getting the below message

Excel file windows

I have several files open in Excel. However when i try to switch to another file in excel it does not bring the file forward. It is hidden behind the file I was currently working on. I have to minimize all windows to see the file I was
to work on. How can I fix this.

In Windows7 and EXCEL 2007 at the moment I have 3 EXCEL files open.
If I hover my mouse over the EXCEL icon in the Task Bar that runs along the bottom of my screen 3 larger icons appear above the Task Bar.
If I then click on 1 of those larger icons that file opens to full screen.
Does the above work for you?

How do i select nonadjacent range in Microsoft Excel 2007 on Macbook?

I have 1st generation black Macbook and I am running Microsoft Excel 2007 via VMware Fusion. I am currently taking a class of excel 2007 and I would love to use my Macbook to do assignments, but I have problem selecting nonadjacent range cell, such as A1:A5;F1:G5.
In my class, I would use Dell base pc Windows XP: I would select the adjacent range A1:A5, then while holding down the "Ctrl" key, I would select the adjacent range F1:G5, yet when I were to do that with my Macbook, it will work as if I'm clicking the secondary right click. I can not select nonadjacent range.
I thought there must be a way to deactivate the secondary click function by pressing "Ctrl" key, but I'm not sure how I can do that.
Is there anyway I can select nonadjacent range?

Well then, I believe Yosi should try different combinatins of keys to get it to do what he wants it to do. I just poked around with a few keys and got it to work. If Yosi is new to macs, then I think that is what I would suggest doing. Poke around and you will find what works.
I was not trying to say that because it worked in Numbers that it would be exactly like that for Excel.
If that is how it sounded, I apologize.
Yosi, keep trying different combinations, you will find something that works.

Export to Excel 2007 failed - Invalid export DLL or export format.

Crystal Reports : 12.1.0.892
We have a problem for exporting few reports to Excel 2007 (Export to Excel 2003 works fine for those reports).
Getting the bellow while trying to Export to Excel 2007.

After accesing the BEE Spreadsheet Interface function it prompts me to download file. After allowing the download file.. it opens up an excel sheet prompting for WEB_ADI[1].xls to be downloaded on the system.
the it says Processing: Create Document. Your document is being created. Do not close this window until processing completes.
The excel sheets gets struck at this point. it does not download the file..
I have also changed the Excel 2007 Trust center options and enabled Trust access to VBA objects and Enable all macros.
My profile options are set as
BNE UIX Base Path : /OA_HTML/cabo/
BNE UIX Physical Directory : /u02/oratrng/trnmlgappl/html/cabo/
Can someone guide if i am still missing any setups or options..................

OK fine the sheet got dowloaded now.. But after that i am facing a new problem ..after i enter the details in Excel and try ot upload thm it gives me error : Connection to the server is unavialable. This is a common error, so please check the BNE.log file for details about the error.
